After waiting awhile for my chair lift…
After waiting awhile for my chair lift it was professionally installed By Robert
and it worked beautifully I just love it.
It has made my life so much easier on my stairs. It was for my elderly husband but he went in care before he saw it
I thank Acorn and QSPEC for their good job. I recommend them to any one.Thànk you.
It is unbearably slow.
All personnel were friendly, helpful, informative and efficient. The quality fo the product is excellent. BUT...
the chair is not being used – because it is so SLOW. With one arm and one leg, it is still four times quicker for me to go up or down the stairs. I fear the day will come, when I have to resort to using it. But until then, it stands idle. An old lady I know, who has one, said it is no good if you need to go to the toilet, because you won't get there in time.
This stairlift has helped my elderly mother
This stairlift has helped my elderly mother get safely from the driveway down to her home. Without it, there are 20 stone stairs to climb. She is happy to be able to live at home. I recommend Acorn for their good service.
We had issues for a number of months…
We had issues for a number of months after a corrective service call which in retrospect did not fix the original issue. I contacted the help line who suggested re-setting and that it would probably fix the issues. After patiently putting up with the bumpy ride and stopping for a number of months, I asked for a further service call and the very helpful technician who attended was polite , tidy and an accomplished diagnostician, finding that the part replaced at the previous visit was not properly installed and was malfunctioning causing frequent stopping 4 time or more an ascent and the seat to tilt somewhat alarmingly. On 16th May we had a different technician whose work was clean and scrupulously thorough .His Name is Aaron H and we will be requesting his service from now on.To their credit Acorn did not charge for the call , labour or the part which had to be replaced again. The end result is good but perhaps the journey towards it could have been smoother. Many thanks to Aaron and Acorn as well
Usuitable for older people
Unfortunately, our experience with Acorn that spanned from December 2024 until April 2025, had been very negative due to the unsuitability of the product for older people and the negative customer experience provided by the sales team post installation.
We trusted the recommendation of someone who had used their older model and we did not have the opportunity to trial the stairlift. We were very disappointed with the product; the seat is not cushioned at all and is very hard and uncomfortable for older people and people with a disability. The ride is cluncky.
The height between the footrest and the seat is designed for people with tall statures and the footrest is not adjustable to accommodate short statured people.
Upon installation we discovered that the chair is not suitable for my 93 year old mother and arranged for an OT reassessment. The OT agreed that the chair is not suitable and negotiated with the sales rep directly to provide a cushion for the seat and to make a wedge for the footrest. My mother agreed to accept this compromise and a cushion was provided with the undertaking that the foot wedge will be ordered and will be delivered asap.
We waited until March, tried many times to contact the sales rep leaving many messages, however did not hear back. We only heard back when he was demanding payment for the invoice which we were not prepared to authorise until the undertaking he made is delivered.
He refused to provide the wedge before invoice is paid otherwise he will uninstall and take Acorn’s property back. We had no choice but to return the product and seek an alternative from a very good company (Lift Me Pty Ltd) with excellent customer service, a showroom to trial their stairlift and delivery within less than two weeks. The seat is cushioned and the height of the seat and distance of the footrest adjustable.

Thank you to Acorn Chairlift for a no hassle installation. It has put my mind at peace having two elderly parents climbing a flight of stairs.

Excellent Company
The Companys prompt reply to my request was excellent. Persons involved are helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with.
I have not experienced such a swift installment from inception to completion.
I am very pleased with the chairlift
Acorn have a good product
Acorn have a good product. The sales team were informative and pleasant, not pushy. Both of the young men (Brett and Will) who installed my stairlift were punctual, friendly and efficient. The chair on the stairlift is comfortable and my knees feel better not having to cope with my stairs anymore.

The best thing we ever did was get the stair chair installed. We have a lift, which was out of order due to the cyclone, and so grateful to have the stair chair. Appreciate that they sent an installer from Grafton, a lovely young chap and it’s been a pleasure to deal with Acorn
Not a happy camper
No follow up service after making calls. The plate or cover down bottom of rail is nothing but a mossie catcher. We changed the control batteries and it still dont work properly. Seat is way to hard for client. The cover is too awkward to be used by my disabled client and pensioners. Have been advised by company to change batteries in control remote as they come all the way from England and been in storage for awhile. After we told them we had already done this. Makes us wonder why they knew and did not deliver with new batteries. The large battery goes down from 6 to 4 on 1 trip down the rail. Makes us wonder who will pay for new one if this has been sitting around for so long . Regards E N Collis Carer

Brilliant and fantastic
Our experience with Acorn Stairlifts Australia was only positive. They were very professional on the phone and followed up with email confirmations. The quoting process was very straight forward and efficient. We were given a price straight away, which was followed up by an email quote. The best part is the delivery time - from paying our deposit til the installation was only 7 days!!! The installation went very smoothly and there was no mess what so ever, no tiles were cracked and our stairlift is fantastic. We would highly recommend Acorn to anybody that is looking for some help up and down the stairs. The price is competitive with the other two quotes we received, but everybody else needs 14-16 weeks delivery time, very happy and thank you so much.

The Acorn StairLift, is modern and well made.
The staff are lovely and the stairlift itself is a well-made piece of equipment. Unfortunately, we are yet to be able to use it with comfort and ease.
We do wish that our consultation with Acorn took place in the presence of our Occupational Therapist. If Acorn had insisted on an OT's report, we would have been more informed as to if the stairchair would be a suitable option with our specific disabilities. We have spoken to Acorn and our OT and are currently waiting on a resolution.

None existant customer service
I contracted Acorn on on the 10/7 by phone as they would not reply to emails and spoke to a person in the service department to repot an F7 fault on our Stairlift.
The same day they sent me an email with a list of details they wanted photos.
I sent the list and photos back the same day 10/7.
On the 19/7 i sent another email to ask about the progress but got no replay.
I then sent another email also no eply.
So I called got through to the service department they told me it wqs being assessed by the sales department and they would contact me.
A week went bye no contact from acorn so I sent another email to service department waited they did not reply.
So I called and tried to get through to the sales team was told I need to speak to the service department.
I weas transferred to the service department explained that my wife was unable to leave our home with out assistance.
The lady said we are sorry and put me on hold to contact the sales when she came back on the phone she was unable to get an answr out of them but told me her manager was folloin up and at first told me that someone woul;d contact me the same day put me on hold again then came back and said I would be contacted before the end of the week.
I found a service person who repairs stairlifts I asked him to take a look he got back to me and told me Acorn would not supply him with any spares he may need and that he was not authorised to work on Acorn lifts.
They will not fix there own Stairlifts or support other servicemen to fix them.
