These Mafia sales tactics are getting old

We told the company that, due to my wife and I expecting our first child, that we wouldn’t be able to attend a show (giving them more than three weeks notice), they used strong arm sales tactics and threats to try and force us to pay for the booth even though we couldn’t attend due to extenuating circumstances and gave ample notice.

This company is SUPER shady

This company is SUPER shady. As you can see from the other reviews, they have a multi-year clause hidden in the contract. They send you to a site to just initial and sign a contract without explaining what's in the contract. We're allegedly on the hook for another year when the first one was POORLY attended, POORLY organized, and absolutely lackluster and not worth it. If we end up paying for a booth, I will tell every attendee how bad their company is while I am there... might even print flyers about it and hand them out. Having been to over a dozen shows each year for a decade, this one is a company to STAY AWAY FROM.

Buyer Beware Notice

Buyer Beware Notice
We signed a multi-year vendor contract with ACS Shows for a minimal $50 savings and were told we could cancel by July 1, 2025. I marked my calendar accordingly.

We attended our first show in October 2024 and were surprised by how many vendor booths were empty. The event provided poor ROI, and ACS did not deliver the exclusive lead list as promised.

In February 2025, ACS contacted us about participating in their April 2025 event at the same location. I declined via email and phone, restating that we never received the lead list and were not moving forward. Unfortunately, I did not send a formal cancellation notice, assuming my clear communication was sufficient.

In July 2025, I received an invoice for the October 2025 show—three times higher than the previous year. I immediately contacted ACS, reiterating that we had declined participation. They claimed I needed written cancellation confirmation. This is where their deceptive practices became clear: unless you use their exact cancellation process, you're trapped.

ACS offered to reduce the invoice to the original 2024 rate but insisted I had to pay whether or not we attend. That’s when I realized this isn’t about helping vendors or brides—it’s about trapping businesses in contracts and collecting fees.

After expressing frustration, ACS hung up on me. That night, I received a letter from their collections department threatening litigation if I didn’t pay by 8/1/25—even though the invoice wasn’t overdue.

ACS Shows engages in misleading sales tactics, uses deceptive contracts, and makes it unnecessarily difficult to cancel. This is harassment and unethical. Avoid doing business with ACS Shows.

Piece of Sh*t Show

ACS does not explain that their “multi-year discount” supposedly obligates you pay for a booth every year, regardless if you participate in the show or not. Then they harass you for payment and send you to their “collections department”. Avoid them at all costs, pun intended.

American Consumer Shows has been a…

American Consumer Shows has been a nightmare to work with. They operates “Wedding Expos LA.” I informed them in writing prior to December 1, 2024 that I was no longer the majority shareholder of the business that had previously signed a vendor agreement. Despite this, they’ve continued to call and email me personally to collect a balance I am not liable for. I submitted a cease and desist letter. Their ongoing behavior feels harassing, retaliatory, and completely inappropriate. I’m requesting they stop all personal contact and correct this issue immediately. I am being harassed constantly, with threats of collections, which isn't even legal at this point. Stay away.
