Very good product I tried them at my rehabilitation center after my injury but they are also very pricey. I could make good use of a lot of the products, but have to find cheaper solutions.

I'm so sorry that you have had delays with receiveing your products. We do state on our website that parcels may take up to 3 weeks to get from the UK to the US but unfortunately, the pandemic and global shipping delays are occasionally causing parcels to arrive later than that. I assure you that our dispatch do care and they work hard to turn around orders as quickly as they can. I'm sorry that you felt the reply was not appropriate. We try to make the balance between informative and caring but maybe we leant more towards the informative this time.

Hand/finger products

I purchased a glove-like mitt but way too bulky to use with a rake. I just saw your kayak adaptation for the paddle and it looks like something I might use in that activity, HOWEVER, your products are pretty expensive and if not purchased on Amazon, shipping to USA too expensive. I’m going to construct my own paddle device. The disease I have is inclusion body myositis, a muscle wasting disease. We require devices for drop foot (while still able to walk) and our fingers often become too weak to grasp or make into a fist. The only “treatment” is exercise to try and maintain muscle we still have. Most people with IBM require assistance if they fall, they don’t have the muscle strength to stand, including me. However, I am still mobile, as they say. I thought I would tell you a bit about the disease which explains the low rating for the item purchased. Although well designed and constructed, it isn’t useful for MY intended use of it. Thank you, Frankie Piela

Hi Francine, I'm sorry that you feel this way about our products. Products like the kayak adaptations are expensive to make and therefore expensive to buy. We buy these from another company and the cost to us is high too.
I'm not quite sure what you mean about cutting the fingers off the winter glove as our winter aid doesn't have fingers!
Have you tried padding underneath the General Purpose gripping aid to allow you to get a better grip on a rake. Did you also know that you can use it for kayaking (save you buying another product)? But be aware that you do this at your own risk as it has to be released manually.
If you would like more information please contact us through our contact form: https://www.activehands.com/contact-us/
I hope you are able to keep exercising to maintain muscle function.
Kind regards, Clare

Amazing product

I have been working out for 2 years at 2 separate gyms. My current pt recommend active hands hook aids for achieving what I wanted. The delivery came in a reasonable time and the product is very easy to use. It has opened up possibilities for exercises I never thought I could do.

Definitely the best product on the market

Gadgets for arthritic hands

I purchased a number of items specifically for people with arthritis in the hands. As an occupational therapist working for the NHS I see many people in the community struggling as their condition progresses but we don't supply smaller aids, people have to self-purchase. Like most people they want to try before they buy, so my small kit allows people to examine and decide for themselves whether smaller items will be useful. Some great products out there and useful ones on this site. Many thanks

great customer support, timely shipping

Product came in a reasonable amount of time, considering international shipping. We'd ordered both parts of the kayak adaptor. When we ordered the first piece, I requested to be notified when the other part would be available again(listed as out of stock). I got a quick response from staff letting me know it'd be in that same week. She also consolidated both, saving on shipping, and sent them out that very same day. Quite pleased with customer support.

Active Hands helped me.

I emailed Active Hands and asked for their advice on which helping device they would recommend for my condition. They gave me some useful advice and i have purchased two products which are both really of assistance to me with the onset of Motor Neurone Disease in my hands. Brilliant, thanks.
