premiun member here, my car borken in munich and they pick it up however they promised to deliver it to shop in berlin in 7 days, however now 21 days and still no delivery.
There is no refund for flight or anything yet, I'm still waiting!

The worse Insurance company. A bunch of scam artists. Any expat looking for insurance I would strongly advise to look else where. One star is so I can write the review and warn others. I hope this helps someone.
A recent update I cancelled my contract with this dodgy company which was due to expire on 18/9. I received an email on the 16/9 telling me they have accepted the cancellation and done it from the 6/9 resulting in a fine for me of €40. 😷 of scammers. Criminal organisation. Must be investigated.
I left Germany and travelled back to Denmark. In this process I canceled my insurance from ADAC. This is back in 2020.
In 2021 I receive another invoice of insurance and there is simply no way to get around it. Angrily I give up, pay the money and send further documents.
In 2022 I receive then another invoice for payments due. I cannot get in contact with someone who can help. I cannot get a written confirmation that the info is received and if anything is yet missing.
I am looking distressed into 2023 where I'm sure ADAC has reasons to send a higher invoice due to inflation! BE AWARE - easy to sign up - IMPOSSIBLE to get out!
Simply not serious and liars. I stood waiting for them with 2 small kids almost 6 HOURS and nobody came, though someone said he will arrive in 45min. Also, despite the fact that I had agreed to the tow price, 300€ for 20kms..
Sugar coated racist ADAC service employees. I think it is exclusively dir German people only. Very unpolite service emloyees (females).
We had a problem with our car and pulled to the roght side in the autobahn in a foreign country. We called emergency help via the app. We got a notification in the app saying that we should receive the help in 90 min. We waited 90 min and nothing happened. We got suspicious and called Adac. They said they did not send any help, because they could not reach us via phone!!! How ridiculous that is!!!!! Why do you need an app if you have to call me anyways??? What if I had no battery left?? Do you not understand the meaning of emergency??? It seems like there is no emergency that Adac can resolve faster than I do. Stay away from this scam company
Had a horrendous experience with ADAC when broken down in Halle due to misfuelling. Engineer arrived, asked the usual question, yes the car had been driven, his diagnosis, totally kaput. Fair play but no attempt at involving a fuel-tech, he arranged for the car to be taken to Leipzig to a Land Rover dealer. For the princely sum of €640 for a 20km trip.
We were dropped off in the dark with the car outside a large dealership on the edge of town. Had to beg the driver to drop us at a hotel a few km away. The driver was so arrogant that he wouldn't attempt to communicate when we asked to find an ATM to give him a gratuity for the extra distance, so he lost out there.
In the morning, we took a cab to the Land Rover agent to find it was a completely different part of town. Finally found the car outside a Ford dealership later that morning! No idea what the tow truck driver was thinking. It was pitch black so we couldn't see where we were. Thankfully some great people worked there and within 2 hours they flushed the fuel and got the car running again without even touching the Land Rover dealer.
In short, the ADAC service technician was pretty clueless and the tow truck driver beyond useless.
Got stuck in the mud due to bad weather, adac told me they will hire a 3rd party to pull me out and it will costs me around €600.. Why am I even a member, adac is NOT worth it!
I have car insurance via ADAC and have received 3 bogus increases within just 1 year. It's like they found a sad person they can roll up on whenever they feel like it. Could also be they are running out of money, in any event, it proves once again you can't trust any big corporation anymore. They will squeeze you like a lemon that has been squeezed for years, drip for drip´, probably having the time of their life doing so.
If you are stationed overseas and see an ADAC representative on post. DO NOT SIGN UP. Stick with USAA if you have it.
I signed up for the family membership when we first arrived to Germany. The representative said “you should get it. USAA will not be able to help you here in Germany if you have car troubles. If you do not like it the first year, it will not renew without your permission.”
Had a car issue a few months later, needing a tow. I am no mechanic, but when I see a cracked oil filter housing even I know it requires to be replaced. HELLO VEHICLE CANNOT START UNLESS YOU WANT OIL SPLATTERING ALL OVER. I call ADAC and tell them that I needed a tow because the car had a broken oil filter housing. ADAC “oh no sir it is okay. We will send down technician to check first.” Waited 4 hours for ADAC to arrive. I immediately told him “this is going to need a tow. If the vehicle starts oil will go all over the place.” Guess what the first thing he does. You guessed it! Starts it up and what do you know. OIL GOES ALL OVER. He wasted over an hour trying to patch up the housing. Weird how all the pressure will break off any patching he tries. 2 hours later he finally says “maybe we need tow.” FINALLY. “Tow is not available for a few days.” Instead of waiting I told him no thank you. And decided to call USAA instead. The European number based in UK. It was 1700 at the time, “yes we can get a tow out to you first thing in the morning.” I was certain to not renew ADAC.
A year later, time was coming up for our “renewal” date. My wife tells me ADAC has deducted from her account. We thought it was weird because “ADAC won’t renew without your permission. Sure as hell did. I call MULTIPLE TIMES. Every time someone answered they hung up as soon as I spoke English. Or if I asked to be transferred to English speaking, hangs up. I even call the “English line” and the same thing happens. Finally someone helps me out and says to email them. I emailed for 3 months…We decided to go to my wife’s bank to ensure ADAC doesn’t pull money again, but that doesn’t last very long. MORE time passes and I receive mail saying “you haven’t paid.” So they can keep sending me mail about not paying but nothing about the cancellation process?? 4 months later I FINALLY received the cancellation notice. It’s now Jan 2022…and they have the nerve to have our cancellation date for 30 Sep 2022 and expects us to still pay for this year’s membership. Still have to send back the cancellation request and will probably take some MORE time to officially cancel.
DO NOT SIGN UP. Yes this was very long but had to get that experience out there. I confronted and questioned the representative when he came back on post and denies ever telling us “it doesn’t renew without your permission.” They just want your money. I don’t care if Germans vouch for this company. I’m not the only one who had similar issues to ADAC’s “helpfulness.”
Terrible customer service.
I called and after waiting for 5 minutes i got connected and asked the agent if he speaks english (in german), and the customer service hung up the phone on me without saying a word. I felt the behaviour rude and asked the company on contact form if this is their official approved behaviour. To my surprise ADAC replied and approved the behaviour of its employee. Do you want to buy from a company which hangs up phone on its customers ?
I also had a premium account and always paid on time. Unfortunately, I became seriously ill and was in the hospital for half a year. They sent me a reminder about the payment, which I did not receive because I was in the hospital. My case was sold to a collection company EOS and now I have to pay 2 times more. I apologized and was willing to pay the installment. They refused to talk to me about it, and despite the explanation, I have to impose a fine on the EOS collection company. Never again this company.
I have a premium account and i've never got such a terrible service in my life. My car is broke for more then a mount and no one update me what's going on. Even if i was told the car will be transform to the garage after 2 weeks.
Even I never had a claim with adac travel insurance, it let me feel that the sign up process is already hard to many laws to follow. You can't the insurance the same day you travel it will select just the next day and you book and later in smaller print says not invalid if signed up after departure. Typical German Limitations. I signed up with axa! And very happy so far. Easy to file claims. I reduced to 2 Stars, the very fast to take money from your account even did not accept my insurance. The lost me as customer not worth to deal with bad German customer service!

They are here to make money at any cost and can be compared to mafias! 2 years ago after I sold my car I asked them to cancel, they said I should have called in September, since you called in October you have to pay for the full next year (3 months before the year starts). Now they sent us a letter after 2 years stating we need to pay for my wifé's membership. We didn't even enroll her, they enrolled her automatically on my account so why can't they cancel her membership too with me. I wish they can find a better way to make money. STAY AWAY from these people.
ADAC failed to tell me that they had changed cover for vehicles in the UK. I'm a German speaker so I would have know if they did. But they still took my money in July 2020. Last night they refused to help a very vunerable, stranded motorist, put the phone down, were exceptionally rude and had two of us in tears. They refuse to refund the subscription fees even though I have zero intention - in fact I can't - visit Germany which is the only country where their cover is valid. This company must be avoided at all costs.

You do not have to believe me, but 71 % (bad) of these reviews tell you everything. I join them because I had a terrible experience with ADAC (insurance cancellation and payment issues) and I advise you to avoid this company as far as you can.
If you would like something good for yourself, just get rid of this company before it is not late and if you are not a client yet, just learn from our experience and forget them. Otherwise they will rip you off sooner or later.

Removed €129 from my account despite me requesting a discontinuation. The reason I cancelled is when I did breakdown, they were totally unhelpful. After I’ve complained that they took it upon themselves that my membership is renewed, they’ve ignored me. Not a happy customer!
