Good experience buying my bike from AdamBikes. The team were helpful, the bike matched the description and everything was handled fairly smoothly. A few small improvements would make it even better.

Finding the bike I had been searching…

Finding the bike I had been searching for was a positive part of the experience, and the purchase itself was fairly straightforward. Everything went as expected, although the overall service felt fairly average and could have been more polished in a few areas.

The purchase process was fairly…

The purchase process was fairly straightforward, and the team was generally easy to communicate with. My questions were answered, and the bike arrived in good condition. However, the overall experience was fairly average, with some areas where the service could have been more efficient. Overall, satisfactory but not exceptional.

I found Adam bikes easy to deal with

I found Adam bikes easy to deal with, the bike was as described and was delivered to my door on time and without any fuss. I did discover a minor issue with the bike which fell outside of the 30 day warranty that the bike came with. I emailed them about the issue and was responded to quickly. As I had taken the bike apart myself, the issue wasn’t covered on the warranty but Adam bikes refunded me some money towards the costs of repair as a gesture of good will. Thank you.

Broken 2020 Suzuki GSXR125

Update: I took this to a small claims court and won.
AdamBike were given 21 days to make the payment and have not paid. The 21 days has now passed.

Update: Payment received.

I bought a 2020 Suzuki GSXR125 from AdamBikes in August 2025 for £2,290 on a distance sale, relying on their promise of “quality used bikes”. The bike was delivered in early September and broke down after fewer than 100 miles of my use, needing AA recovery with a suspected ignition fault and battery drain. An authorised Suzuki dealer then found the keyless ignition system was not switching off and had to replace the keyless control unit, ECU and battery, with labour bringing the bill for that defect alone to £697.62.

On top of the breakdown and electrical fault, the same workshop identified that the bike needed an annual service immediately and that the chain and sprockets were corroded, had a tight spot and seized links, and required replacement – all on a supposedly “prepared” used bike with around 12.5k miles. In other words, the machine was sold needing a service straight away and significant drivetrain work, which strongly suggests very poor or non‑existent pre‑delivery inspection and preparation.

When I asked AdamBikes to put this right, they relied on a 30‑day warranty and refused to cover the repair costs, even though the electrical defect arose within six months and the condition of the chain and sprockets clearly did not develop in fewer than 100 miles. I have ended up paying dealer prices for a bike plus nearly £700 to fix an inherent fault, plus further work that should have been picked up before sale. Based on this experience, the preparation standards and after‑sales attitude have been extremely disappointing, and I would not buy from or recommend this dealer.

Hi Hailey,

Thank you for your review.

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your experience. We take all feedback seriously and would like to clarify a few important points for transparency.

The motorcycle was delivered to you 03/09/2025 and was fully operational at the time of delivery. It was test ridden and showed no faults prior to leaving us. You later advised that the alleged breakdown occurred on 31/10/2025, which was outside our 30-day warranty period. That said, had we been contacted at the time, we would still have been happy to discuss the issue and assess the motorcycle.

Instead, the bike was taken to a third-party garage with an intake date of 17/11/2025, again without any notification to us. The repairs were authorised and completed independently, removing our ability to inspect, diagnose, or confirm the cause of the issue.

We were only contacted for the first time on 04/01/2026, at which point we were presented with an invoice and asked to reimburse repair costs that had already been incurred. By this stage, the motorcycle had been repaired for several weeks, making it impossible for us to assess liability or verify whether the issue was present at the point of sale.

While we understand the frustration involved, consumer legislation requires the selling dealer to be given the opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, remedy any issue before third-party repairs are undertaken. Unfortunately, this opportunity was never provided.

Regarding servicing items, this was a used 2020 motorcycle with approximately 12,500 miles, and routine maintenance items such as servicing, chain, and sprockets are subject to wear based on age, mileage, and usage and do not constitute faults.

We strongly refute the suggestion that the motorcycle was misrepresented or sold without preparation. We remain transparent about selling used vehicles, not new ones, and we stand by the position communicated throughout our correspondence.

Many thanks,
AdamBikes

DO NOT BUY

DO NOT BUY! We bought a bike for my daughter, 2 months later bought one for my son that had issues in less than 24 hours. Took it to a garage and was told it should not have passed an MOT on several points which I have a copy of that report . They managed to convince us it was a one off so we took a replacement bike. Now the original bike’s gone wrong and a different garage has told us that is also illegal and should not have passed an MOT. And now the replacement bike is also facing issues and surprise same thing should not have passed MOT. So that’s 3 bikes,3 different garages saying these bikes should have passed legal MOT’s! Since then we’ve spoken to 2 other people with the same issue. I am reporting this company to the relevant DVLA agency * update the replacement bike, the engine blew 2 days ago*

Hi Gemma,

Thank you for your review.

We’re sorry to hear that you remain unhappy, however we would like to clarify the full timeline to ensure accuracy for anyone reading this.

You initially purchased a KTM RC125, which was delivered on 06/01/2025. No issues were reported until 09/02/2025, which was outside of our warranty period. Despite this, we still offered assistance and advised that the issue described sounded consistent with a simple electrical fault.

You then purchased a Yamaha WR125, delivered on 28/03/2025. When an issue was reported the following day, we did not refuse help at any stage. As per our 30-day warranty, we offered collection, repair, and redelivery free of charge, and also offered a full refund.

At that point, you chose not to accept the refund and instead insisted on a replacement motorcycle, selecting another WR125 from our stock. This replacement bike was delivered on 08/04/2025.

We would also like to clarify that at no stage were we informed of any issues your daughter had experienced with the first motorcycle prior to this review being posted.

You are now raising concerns regarding all three motorcycles, including allegations that they should not have passed MOT. All bikes supplied by us are sold with a valid MOT at the time of sale, carried out by licensed MOT testing stations. Any historic MOT failures occurred prior to our ownership of the motorcycles and are publicly visible.

The replacement WR125 has been in your son’s possession for over five months. Any issues occurring at this stage would not have been present at point of sale and fall well outside our warranty period.

While we understand your frustration, we strongly disagree with the suggestion that unsafe motorcycles were knowingly supplied. We responded promptly at every stage, offered repairs, refunds, and a replacement entirely at your request, and acted well beyond our legal obligations.

We respect your right to leave a review, however we also have a responsibility to ensure that the full and accurate sequence of events is available to the public.

Kind regards,
AdamBikes

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY GET A REFUND BACK ON REG FY59FLB

Where do I start, I purchased a Yamaha YZF reg plate Fy59flb. All seemed good until my son road the bike and then things started happening. Started to rattle at the top end phoned Adam Bikes to collect to fix and apparently they said that they sorted it and made a comment that they had done a re build on the engine, we then received the bike back and before my son went on the bike my husband for no reason decided to look at the wheels and had discovered that the rear wheel was completely loose to the point that the but was about to fall off which maybe add I have video evidence of we then called Adam bikes back to tell them this and they replied. We can give you a refund or keep the bike and give you £50 compensation so if my son had gone in that bike and my husband did not see this , it would if been a different story and would if been fatal. So my son's safety is only worth £50 what a bloody joke absolutely disgusting, disgraceful, and sound like rogue traders. This bike is not fit for road use and who ever has just put purchased this bike i suggest you get a refund immediately. This bike is not road safe and should be condemned, it has 3d panels which are not part of the bike.had missing bolts, bolts that's are not meant for the bike and also panels have been cable ties together and I do but believe for one second that they did a engine build on the bike, all they have done is bodged it, I Strongly SUGGEST THAT YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK. AND THEY HAVE CHEEK TO VUT THE BIKE BACK FROM US FOR £1600 AND HAVE THE CHEEK TO PUT IT BACK UP FOR SALE AT £2100 I will be taking matters into my own hand and will be looking into this further. I suggest you read the reviews as this says it all.

Hi Zoe,

Thank you for your review.

We would like to clarify the full timeline of events to ensure accuracy for anyone reading this.

The Yamaha YZF-R125 (FY59FLB) was delivered on 13/04/2025. No issues were reported until 23/04/2025, at which point you advised the bike had cut out and would not start. As per our warranty process, we requested a video and immediately arranged collection for inspection and repair, which took place on 29/04/2025.

The motorcycle was repaired, tested, and confirmed ready on 03/05/2025, then redelivered on 06/05/2025. At the same time, we also provided £20 cash to cover the cost of a panel and exhaust baffle as agreed.

On 07/05/2025, you advised that you were still unhappy due to a loose spindle bolt which you claim could have been fatal if your son rode the bike however, he did in fact ride it for 211 miles after the bike being delivered. At this stage, rather than disputing the matter, we approved a full refund upon collection on 10/05/2025, despite the bike already having been repaired and returned.

Upon collection, it was made known to us that the motorcycle had been ridden for approximately 1,000 miles during your ownership. As a result, and in line with consumer law regarding usage, a £300 deduction was applied. This was discussed transparently and accepted by you at the time.

We strongly dispute the suggestion that your son’s safety was disregarded. At every stage, we responded promptly, collected the bike, repaired it, redelivered it, and ultimately agreed to a refund, even after significant usage.

This was a used motorcycle, and as clearly shown in the advert and walkaround, it did include aftermarket and 3D-printed panels, which were visible prior to purchase. The bike was not sold as new.

We fully understand your frustration, however the narrative presented in this review does not accurately reflect the documented events, communications, or resolutions provided.

We acted quickly, reasonably, and well beyond our legal obligations throughout.

Kind regards,
AdamBikes

Hi Andy,

We would like to point out that this review relates to the same matter already addressed in our previous response to Zoe Knight.

The motorcycle referenced was a used bike, and the presence of aftermarket and 3D-printed panels was clearly visible in the advert and walkaround prior to purchase. These were not hidden or misrepresented.

When concerns were raised after delivery, the bike was collected by us, inspected, repaired, and returned. At no stage was the motorcycle released knowingly in an unsafe condition.

We strongly reject the suggestion that bikes are not checked, or that safety is disregarded.

Kind regards,
AdamBikes

Hi Dylan,

Thank you for your review.

We would like to clarify several important points for accuracy.

The Yamaha R1 purchased on 25/01/2025 was clearly advertised and sold as a clearance motorcycle, which was reflected in the price. As stated in the advert and discussed at the time of purchase, no warranty was provided with this bike.

You personally carried out a full inspection prior to purchase and were happy to proceed on that basis. No concerns were raised at the time, and we received no contact from you following the sale before this review was posted.

All motorcycles are sold with a valid MOT at point of sale, issued by an independent MOT testing station. Any issues identified by a third-party garage after purchase do not automatically invalidate an MOT, nor do they confirm the condition of the bike at the time it was sold.

As this was a 25-year-old used performance motorcycle, sold as clearance and without warranty, ongoing maintenance and repairs form part of ownership and responsibility once the bike has left our premises.

We strongly dispute the suggestion that the bike was knowingly sold in an unroadworthy condition.

Kind regards,
AdamBikes

Any company that lies, is not to be trusted.

Bought a battery on eBay from this company with their same day dispatch service, on the day the item was due to be delivered (2 days after purchase) I received an order cancellation on eBay due to the item being "out of stock".

"Good morning,
Unfortunately we seem to have had a stock mis-count and this item is not available. I will cancel the order and issue you a refund.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
Many thanks,
AdamBikes".

10 minutes later, the advert with the "stock mis-count and this item is not available" item, has been relisted with 4 in stock.

I would imagine, instead of telling me they can't post to Northern Ireland, they have lied to get out of sending it - A simple explanation on the day/day after I bought the item with the truth would have been much better and allowed me to make other arrangements.

If a company lies about something so simple, they are not to be trusted.

Understanding and Supportive Company

My brother purchased from this company with the assurance of a trusted friend.
They were fully understanding of his neurodiversity and treated him with respect in the process.
The bike was delivered free of charge and despite running into an issue with a part on the bike, the staff were fantastic in support myself (as I was travelling at the time) and my brother to resolve it. He was incredibly nervous that the thing he’d waited 7 years to get was not what he’d hoped for but the issue encountered was covered under their warranty within a week, and with support offered to me to support him best. It was picked up and dropped off without charge (we are not local) and the staff kept in contact with WhatsApp messages to take into account I was travelling.

Buying second hand can be a gamble but they gave a full history of this bike, we researched the history ourselves for MOT etc and they sorted the log book for him which arrived in a week. It’s by far a ‘new’ bike but for what it is, and the responsibility this bike will teach him after years of trying to turn a corner with his health is priceless. It won’t rise forever but it will get him to work and back- another milestone he’s recently achieved in a new career.

Whilst I appreciate some reviews here may not have had the same experience we did when running into issues, I found the team at Adam to be transparent and empathetic to my brother and the issues encountered. I’ve bought new cars from dealerships that have run into issues and just like Adam Bikes, the warranty took car of them.

My only piece of feedback as the lovely team know my history would be to offer. Few charged extended warranty period if customers sought piece of mind, such as £100 for 3 months or 500 miles. Could be useful.
But for us? They helped, they supported and most importantly cared when we needed some compassion. Resolution was fast.

Thanks all!
