Ignorant staff who dont know the industry
I have tried dealing with this recruitment agency for a number of years. In the rail industry, Advance must be the worst for not replying to applications, queries, voice messages left and un-answered emails. You call, the person you want is not available but your told "i will get them to call you back." - They never, not once.
I have applied for several jobs with advance which are exactly the roles what i am looking for. I am highly experienced in those roles yet never get responded to.
It baffles me why companies deal with advance when the qualified staff they require are ignored. I have a lot of contacts in the industry where i have successfully obtained one role that advance were advertising for. It was just a general chat with someone i knew and when i mentioned the role, he said that was with the company he was working for. One phone call, i was employed on a 6 month contract.
If i was the managing director, who i actually know, i would be kicking the staff up the a***. I could let him know but if that is the staff he employs, then let him get on with it.
