I thought it was just me with the shipping from AE. Absolutely horrible shipping 3 out of 4 packages they supposedly delivered I never recieved. I understand it's free shipping but I'd rather just pay so I atleast get my items. I ordered some items on the 14.12.22 and I am still waiting for it to arrive 30.12.22, DHL are no use as they don't know were the package is located. AE customer service pointed me to DHL, and DHL pointed me to AE, so I am stuck in the middle!
AE has become fraudulent.
Back in November, placed an order. Tracking info was with Dhl and only said awaiting carrier pickup. Package never showed. Still says same thing almost a month later. Placed another order a couple days ago. Part of order shipped, checked that tracking and what a surprise! Thru dhl again and it still just says awaiting carrier pickup. The other portion (1item) shipped today with usps and already shows picked up and a delivery date given. Why is ae continuing to use dhl when it's clearly a problem. I have no issues with the quality of items I order from Aerie or American Eagle. However, their shipping method is unreliable. They use their own company, AirTerra and a variety of “last mile” distributors. Twice my orders failed to arrive and twice I got a refund. The first time, I reordered with a guaranteed Two-Day ship coupon they sent me and the order arrived promptly through USPS. The second time, no coupon was offered and I did not reorder. If you want AE merchandise, purchase at one of their stores or pay extra to get guaranteed two-day ship to avoid the AirTerra network.
Worst service / you don't receive your items
The worst purchasing experience I have ever had online. My order did not arrive at all. It was supposed to arrive in 10 days and after 3 weeks it did not, I contacted customer service and they said I had to wait more. After 2 months waiting I wrote again asking for help and they did not bother to look into it, just process a refound. The items were a birthday present that I could not give.
Worst customer service. Do not recommend to buy from there. They will just keep your money for 2 months, not send anything and process a refound afterwards.
Lousy Servuce
Placed an order and one week and 3 follow-up chats later, absolutely nothing. When I do the online chat, they would say they will give an email update in 24 hours. 48 hours later and nothing still. Finally on the third chat follow up, the guy basically says I’ll just issue a refund. What a waste of time. Didn’t even say why or whatever, just oh I’ll just give you a refund. Now I hope the refund actually gets processed. But my gosh, HORRIBLE service. What a waste of time! Don’t ever order from them, it’s just a frustrating and annoying experience.

Dishonest and fraudulent advertising. Overpriced pieces of clothing. They put a big sign outside the store saying buy 1 50% off but when you pay they say it's just certain jeans....when asked where it is, they could not even point the location if those discounted items. Very dishonest, baity and fraudulent!!! It's a scam!
Bad online shopping experience
Bad online shopping experience, disappointing customer service. Last 2 online orders from them have been more work than they're worth. Even though the website had all items showing as in stock that I ordered, half the order wound up getting cancelled due to items not being available. And since it was mostly paid for with a gift card, part of the refund was supposed to come via a new gift card. Been several weeks and have never received the gift card. Customer service still claims it's supposed to come in the mail, but it seems I'm just out money spent at this point.
Other order was shipped via a delivery service I've never heard of before, and the package was lost. Yet again had to wait weeks for a gift card refund to be sent via mail. Have decided to use other brands for my online clothing shopping since clearly AE's systems are not up to par.

AE claimed the expected delivery would be 4-6 business days for standard delivery to Ireland.
But it took them 5 days to even issue the parcel to the local DHL for shipment.
Once tracking was available DHL customer service said that only a basic shipping service had been paid for by AE (incl in €100 plus orders) and that delivery would be 8-12 business days.
This would have been good to know at the time of ordering as I am leaving the country & delivery address.
12 business days later and the package is in France with no updates to tracking for the last 3 days.
Will not be ordering again.
Poor Experience and Bad Support
After years of being an avid buyer of American Eagle pants, I have to say I no longer recommend you buy clothes here. I have been extremely disappointed with their service.
I purchased 3 pairs of pants in July, from abroad because I live abroad, and thought it seemed to be an easy process.
Sadly none of the pants fit, so I needed to return them. American Eagle said I needed to pay for the shipping for the return. Therefore, I essentially ended up paying to try on three pairs of their pants.
Mind you nearly all if not all companies here in the EU do not charge to return clothes, in fact they come with a prepaid return label in the chance your clothes do not fit. So i was really surprised to see I would be expected to pay international shipping to return my item.
Next, there was/is only one location in TN to send your returns from the EU/abroad! On top of this, they were/are unwilling to provide me another location or warehouse to send the package too.
I sent my package with UPS expedited shipping and it was returned to their warehouse on August the 22nd.
I emailed multiple times asking for help and for someone to show me some empathy, but I never received it. Working in customer support myself, regardless of policy, I would of apologised for what has obviously not been a great situation for a customer. After loads of back and forth emails and me asking for someone to to apologize they finally did and agreed to refund my shipping costs.
However, it is now September 7th and I still do not have a refund for my order either! They told me it could take some time previously, but the most recent message I got from Global Care indicated their warehouse is not processing returns at this moment, so the timeframe they would give is irrelevant. I do not understand why their inability to carry out this process means me waiting longer for my money.
The funny thing is, I had to call about this refund for the shipping costs and the support staff at the time indicated to me my pants had made it to the warehouse, but now they are acting as if they never did.
TLDR:
Anyways, I could go on and on about how disappointed I am with the lack of empathy shown, lack of alternative solutions, slow refunds, and more, but I will say this, do not buy from American Eagle anymore. There are so many other wonderful options and companies who are willing to go the extra mile, or even the bare minimum of paying for shipping and offering alternative solutions.
Save your receipts for AE defective merchandise
Daughter’s lounge pants pilled after 2nd wash. Need a receipt to return/exchange defective merchandise. Apparently, AE expects customers to save receipt as defective products are likely to happen. Talked to a manager in customer service today. Not shopping there again, a huge inconvenience!

I ordered pants online they didn't fit so I sent them back through my local AEO store. I got the wrong pants wrong brand size everything therefore I went into the store again and reordered. They said they were sending me another refund and I told her I wanted to reorder the pants that was a mistake!! I was supposed to be getting my refund I sent emails I called no refund however they took the money out AGAIN for the pants . Weeks have went by with no refund I sent an email I was told the money was sent to me and that they definitely refunded it and that there was a problem with my bank they did their part. I called yesterday they apologized and said it should be on the way to my bank,then I wake up this morning and get an email saying there are problems to please call them?????? I have to call AGAIN!!!! I will never ever order anything again from them!
Poor customer service support and unable to provide order status update
Place order online and after 4 days and 3 calls, I could not get an update on my other. Online shows order has yet to ship. I received an email from AE stating the delay is out of their hands, carrier issue. How could that be. Very poor customer service support to no support.
Ordered on the 13th July
Ordered on the 13th July, my goods cleared customs on the 22nd July. Try tracking through DHL and none of the information or tracking numbers work. Never had a parcel take so long ever. Have to wait another 15 days before they will class as lost.
Not happy , I suppose I shoudl have read the reviews here first. I only bought here as I liked their items when i use to work in New York a few years ago.

I don’t even want to give Aerie a single star. I’m usually not one to complain or leave a bad review but I feel like I was scammed. I ordered from the aerie app when they were doing 40% all activewear or some sort of discount around that number. I ordered 7 different pieces and paid just about $180. This was on May 29th. On June 2nd I got a confirmation email and on the third got a shipping notification. June 6th they pulled the money out of my account and so I looked up the shipping time and wanted to see where my package was at. The tracking number still had my package as “pending”. I waited and waited and still by the 14th it still said pending. I got in contact with customer service and all they could tell me was the carrier never picked up my order which makes zero sense to me, I assume my order was never fulfilled. The lady I was speaking to swore they fulfilled my package but made the decision to refund me without actually letting me decide what I wanted to do. Now I have to wait 7-9 days for my refund.

I was robbed also. I don't even want to get into it because it would take too long. Just know that this company outright robs you and there's nothing you can do about it - except never order from them and leave bad reviews.
