Spitfire experience…
My wife and I had an amazing experience flying next to a Spitfire on Sunday at North Weald, between the Spitfire pilot Parky and the helicopter pilot Will we were given a spectacular aeronautical display. Laura the delivery manager was extremely enthusiastic and helpful. Definitely recommend this experience.
Fantastic fly with a spitfire experience
My son had the 20 minute fly with a spitfire experience from North Weald air field - amazing. Really nice friendly and helpful staff trying to accommodate people held up in traffic and with special needs. Flight itself was in a helicopter with the spitfire flying along side and banking under and over (and coming straight towards at one point) - my son took great photos and had a fantastic day. Lovely place too - great little cafe with views of the airfield for family to wait.
A once in a lifetime experience!
A once in a lifetime experience!
The flight in the Spitfire was amazing thanks to Parky and his team.
A brilliant day!
Fabulous Spitfire flight at Headcorn.
I booked a 35min Spitfire trip for my father's 90th. He's a fit and healthy 90 year old, but never the less, I had my concerns and the initial telephone conversation I had with the company was very reassuring. He was very much looking forward to it, but unfortunately the first trip had to be cancelled because weather conditions weren't good enough. Although disappointed, I was actually pleased that they took health and safety so seriously. We were quickly offered new dates and turned up at Headcorn to their very well appointed premises on a beautiful morning in August. We were made to feel very welcome, not just myself and Dad, but the extended family who had also turned up to watch. The pilot - Parky - was excellent, as were the other crew members. He had a fabulous flight and really enjoyed the experience. To be honest, we had balked a little at the cost, but if you do have a very special person who would love to go in a Spitfire, then seeing their grin throughout the morning and afterwards made it all totally worth it. We loved being at Headcorn - there was so much else going on to watch, as well as the Spitfire. We would all thoroughly recommend it.
Spitfire and Harvard debacle …
Booked a spitfire and Harvard experience. 3200gbp. Was badged as a formation experience with the ability to take photos. I specifically wanted to take photos of my partner in the spitfire.
This did not happen as we only flew together for about 2mins.
Having complained to aerolegends I am still yet to receive a response. This is after one week of waiting.
Poor customer service for something at a premium price point.
There must be other companies that offer spitfire experiences. My advice. Go to them and don’t bother wasting your money and time on a company that doesn’t respond and can’t get a 20min formation flight right.
I flew on Saturday 12th August 2023 with Andy (Park) Parkinson from Headcorn Aerodrome out over the White Cliffs of Dover doing various manoeuvres, it was an amazing experience, I am still on a high
I flew on Saturday
Iconic experience on a perfect day
Iconic experience on a perfect day. My 30min flight on the mk9 spitfire named elizabeth was everything I could have wanted from beginning to end.
From the warm welcome by reception and the pre-flight briefing, and then the introduction to the pilot 'Parky' I felt informed and valued by everyone I encountered.
Then for the flight - out to the white cliffes of Dover performing barrel and victory rolls, - I couldnt contain my smile. Then to get a couple of minutes on the controls and fly and turn the plane was exceptional, and all recorded on two go pro cameras for prosperity (good quality recordings considering the enclosed environment of the cockpit)
After the pilot resumed controls its a few more aerobatics and back to the airfield and it's all over.
It's a lot of money, but it's an experience of a lifetime, and I'm still smiling a week after the flight ended .That's got to count for something.
T6 Harvard 80th birthday present to myself
Gave myself an 80th birthday present to fly in a T6 Harvard from Headcorn in Kent. Most exhilarating, especially doing a loop-the-loop. Downsides are a) the high noise level from the engine. This was exacerbated by the noise being picked up by the pilot’s mike and feeding into my ears additionally. On the day after I’m still wondering if this has had a permanent effect on my hearing. And b) the £100 GoPro camera footage is somewhat underwhelming. Fixed above the dash, this is pointed at your face and has a wide angle to show the ground that you have covered but only at the sides and behind you. No way to record what you’re actually looking at. But footage of the ground being above your head during a loop is fun to have. Overall satisfying for a total cost of £945.
Feel what it was like to fly in the Battle of Britain
Once in a lifetime experience flying in a MK XVIII Spitfire. The experience was seamless from checking in including safety briefs with the delightful ladies to the Pilot "Parky" who is a legend in his own right. If you ever want to feel what the "Few" felt flying in the Battle of Britain this is the only way to do it. I could not recommend it more highly! An awesome amazing experience!
Tiger Moth Fun!
Had a lovely flight experience in the Tiger Moth today as a belated 40th present from my parents.
I was with the excellent Sam Parker as my pilot, who also took the time to have a chat and a joke and pose for pictures before and after (many thanks).
Everything from the bubbly ladies at the Aero Legends office/base in North Weald to the cheerful ground crew was spot on and made my day. Well done guys on providing a great memory for a childhood plane fanatic! 👍
The most delightful surprise ever came…
The most delightful surprise ever came my way last week when I arrived at North Weald airfield and was told that I would be having a flight in a genuine WWII Spitfire. Although we had arrived unintentionally late, we were made so welcome by the whole team who all made such a great effort to make my experience memorable. 'Parky' was the most consummate professional and incredibly experienced pilot and he made the whole experience fun and memorable for me. As an ex RAF member and a current military historian, I found the experience of performing a Victory roll over the Battle of Britain memorial at the end of the day, in glorious sunlight, a poignant and reflective memory.
I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you (especially Parky and Elizabeth!) at North Weald for making this an incredibly happy and profound life experience.

I had the best time flying in a Tiger…
I had the best time flying in a Tiger Moth with Charlie Brown as my wonderful pilot. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.
I had a great flight in a Spitfire on… 17th September.
I had a great flight in a Spitfire on the 17th of September from Headcorn. From the moment I walk into the office and then into the flight briefing then stepping into the plane for my flight over to the white cliffs of Dover oh my god what a great experience. The views were breathtaking , I was also allowed to fly the plane for a couple on minutes. Then we did a loop the loop and couple of victory rolls. The pilot Antony (Parky) Parkinson was keeping me informed during my flight. What a great guy,If anyone thinking of doing this flight experience I can highly recommend this. Many thanks to you all at Aero Legends for making my 60th birthday present one I will cherish for the rest of my life. Bob Moody.

Flew in a Spitfire May 2022 and by far the experience exceeded all expectations.
From arriving ,to the briefing ,to the flight itself the day was perfect. I was made to feel welcome ,was well trained and informed and given a flight of a lifetime. We flew over the white cliffs of Dover which was breathtaking. I was allowed to take control and fly the plane by myself for a short while . We did a loop the loop and flew in and out of clouds..a truly magical experience from start to finish.
A well organised afternoon and one that I will treasure and remember forever. Thank you.
Disappointing service
A flight in a Spitfire was booked for my 86 year old Grandad, something that he has wanted to do for years. To get the best experience the family paid for the 20 minute flight, an additional £150 for a video and another £1000 for an extra 10 minutes airborne.
The organisation on the day was great although my Grandad was required to be there 3 hours before flying so there was a lot of waiting around. The pilot was fabulous and talked my Grandad through everything. He was over the moon with the experience, however he is only over the moon with the experience because he didn’t know he was meant to be airborne for 30 minutes. Imagine our disappointment that when looking back on our videos of take off and landing that he was only airborne for the standard 20 minutes! The company have investigated and said they would check the video footage. Another disappointment when they have come back and said that the video didn’t record!
Whilst the money for the video and extra ten minutes have been refunded, we cannot help but feel disappointed in the way this has been handled. Passing the buck to the pilot advising us it was his error that the additional time was not done and also stating that only one flight from the entire day recorded. Very poor service for a very expensive day!
I did a Spitfire flight on 11th Sept…
I did a Spitfire flight on 11th Sept 2021. It was for my 80th birthday.
Needless to say the flight was a wonderful experience, one to be remembered for ever. Everything on the day was done in a very professional manner.
I elected to pay £150 for a video of the day.
When it arrived, as promised on a memory stick, it was very disappointing, I downloaded the software as per the instructions, but the video kept freezing, which made it useless. I wrote to complain and asked for a refund. After some further correspondence, after I told them I had a brand new IMac, they suggested downloading a different media player, which was more suited to the iMac format. I did this, then the video worked OK. Can’t understand that they did not include instructions for Apple users in the first place.
Considering the cost the video was poor. I expected a far better finished product for that money. It was simply recorded and put on a memory stick. I would have thought they should at least put the titles and date on the start. Now to make it worthwhile I need to find a way to edit it. Deleting the 10 minutes on the ground before take off, and inserting titles may be beyond me. Only then will it be worth showing my family.
Come fly with me.
I was treated to a flight in a Tiger Moth. It was the most wonderful experience. The check-in was smooth thanks to very caring staff. A very nice lady ensured I was sat in the aircraft very safely and explained everything re safety. My pilot ensured that I saw as much as possible and explained everything that was going on with the operation of the Tiger Moth. The views from the open air cockpit were amazing. This will be an experience that I will remember forever.
Amazing Company
Amazing Company, amazing experience. These guys were so friendly, made me and my guests extremely welcome. The flight in a Harvard was truly amazing, had the opportunity to take the controls and the absolute highlight of the experience was the aerobatics which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone. I wish this company every success.
Great Spitfire flight - problems getting post-day follow-up service, but eventually sorted
Booked a Spitfire flight for my father. Great experience on the day, but there was a problem with the cockpit video recording, for which he had paid extra and, despite numerous attempts to contact them to seek help they have just failed to return phone calls and emails, despite chasing.
It transpires they had a bit of a crisis with pilot illness and had to reschedule over 100 flights, which stretched their resource well beyond normal capacity.
To be fair, once they responded, they could not have done more to redeem themselves, so they have restored my confidence in using them again.
