It was too complicated to find the key: the instructions were unclear. There was no room number mentioned in the instructions, only the room name. Meanwhile, the key had only a room number and no room name. Because of this, I had to communicate with the host via Booking and use my mobile data for an hour.
The surroundings also felt very sketchy. Around the entrance there were always 2–5 guys just hanging around.
There was no internet in the room. The walls were extremely thin, and I could clearly hear everything happening outside and in the other rooms.
It also seemed like there were long-term residents—around ten men—and I was the only guest.
The door lock didn’t work properly from the beginning. On the second night, when I came back from town, the lock got stuck. Even a 2-meter-tall guy couldn’t unlock it. I had to wait for an hour until a technician came and broke the lock so I could get my things (thanks to him). The host suggested I go to another apartment in a different building, but I didn’t want to risk my safety or the rest of my trip. They even told me, “If you lock yourself inside the room, nothing bad could happen.” Really?
And on top of that, they blamed me for breaking their door.
