Negative attitude

I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment and anger with Aion Bank's handling of a recent fraudulent incident on my account. I lost approximately €3000 as a result of a security problem.

What is most shocking is not just the fraud itself, but Aion Bank's subsequent and completely unacceptable response. Despite being the bank directly responsible for managing my funds, their customer service has repeatedly refused to take ownership of the issue. I have been shuffled back and forth between Aion Bank and Expatrio, creating a circular and unproductive process that has only served to delay the investigation.

This passive attitude is a gross dereliction of their duty to protect customer assets. With each passing day of their inaction, the chances of recovering my stolen funds diminish.

Aion Bank has demonstrated a complete lack of urgency and empathy, and their security and customer service are demonstrably inadequate. I caution anyone considering using their services, especially for crucial financial needs like a blocked student account, to be aware of the potential for this kind of neglect when you need them most.

Intuitive app

The app is excellent compared to other banks. Response on the chat is immediate. Transparency with the timing of transfer receipt.

Avoid

They received 13400 euros from my German (!) bank account and after that (!) refused to open me a blocked German account with Expatrio. I'm shocked that a company like that can even have a license

Simply thieves, stay away

The worst bank ever. It was bad while it was name BancaMontePaschi and since it became aion it has been worse. They just invent ways to charge you and steel your money.

Don't trust them with your money

Horrible bank with tons of technical issues.
I've been a client for almost 4 years and initially I was fairly happy with them.
But after the recent downtimes (days!!) I just closed my accounts.

The constant bugs, the customer support that only works through a mobile app with crappy dutch skills, no more CODA API support, no bancontact or payconiq support,... this is a bank that lacks basic functionality.

This is not "The Netflix of banking" but "The Netscape of banking".

It won't surprise me if they go bankrupt soon.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. I had an account with Monte Paschi Belgium, later became Aion Bank. My cards expired years ago and since then they did not send back any card, becaming totally digitale. I have been trying to have access to my account for years, I even bought a new mobile phone for that, but the people of the chat continue to ask for the same documents and do not let me in. I have sent them the documents, both by mail and by chat, several times. The people at the chat change every two hours and when they change keep asking for the same documents again. Then they say it is all right to access the account... but they do not give me any clue and do not let me access to my account. Now i have asked them to close the account and make a draft to my other IBAN. I work in a Central Bank and will ask my collegues of the supervision department in Belgium to investigate if I do not have back access.

You have your limits bank has their secret limits too

The bank requires you to set up transaction limits, which is normal procedure.
What is not normal is the fact, that their internal transaction limits are lower, but they can't provide exact numbers.
The result is that when you try to pay with card, confirm transaction in the app with your credentials, they block your card for "security reasons" and you don't have access to it for couple of days. To unlock the card you have to contact not helpful "Customer Happiness (!!!) Center". After all explanations you try to make transaction again, and they block your card again, without further explanation what kind of security measures are implemented.
Not recommended, unless you like roller coaster when going for holidays

Bad experience with Aion

When you open an account with an Aion Bank Partner (For example Metro FS in Germany) you can only open the account once. If you closed it and you later want to reopen it, this is not possible. What kind of Bank does that?
