Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 623 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the customer service to be extremely poor, often describing it as the worst they had encountered and noting the difficulty in reaching a live agent, frequently being stuck with unresponsive chatbots. Reviewers also reported significant issues with staff, who were perceived as unhelpful, rude, and sometimes even unprofessional, leading to problems like incorrect bookings or missed flights. The booking process itself was a source of frustration, with customers experiencing unexpected flight changes, cancellations, and a lack of assistance. Additionally, many felt that despite initial low prices, the airline tried to extract more money through hidden fees for baggage or seat changes, making the overall value questionable.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs, how does a company operate in Asia like this and save face, to its staff at the airport booth with no scruples and to its ai Bo which is obviously set up to confound and not help you but take your $$'s, introducing a new type of Asian!

They changed my flight time from 12pm…

They changed my flight time from 12pm to 8pm ,but click on the button to change my flight, that is where the fun began, you talk to a AI chat bot ,I put my booking ref number ,it says it didn't recognise my number,if you ask the wrong question it goes back right to the start, then you go on the air Asia page it says it has been changed put other page it says it has been cancelled, they put me through to a real person, but I have to wait in the queue,I was on the queue for two hrs then switch it off on me,I finally got through but they said they send a confirmation email, saying it has been changed,as well there no tel number to phone up or email to contact them, they send you to the chat bot a complete and utter disgrace.after the flight I won't be flying with them again,

Zero if there was an option.

Zero if there was an option.
Domestic flights in the Philippines are really cheap but really sh**tty.
This is my third time (unfortunately) experiencing flight delays with the airline. Each experience always exceeding the previous one. Should have learned my lesson but flights aren't cheap these days. If you can, avoid booking AA domestic flights at all costs, especially when you have important appointment/s to catch up.

I am writing this Wrongfully Denied Boarding, Humiliated, and Passport Data Mishandled – Shocking Experienceafter one of the most…

I am writing this after one of the most shocking and distressing travel experiences my family has ever faced.

On 4 April 2026, at Kuala Lumpur Terminal 2 (Express Counter W2), between approximately 12:14 PM and 2:11 PM, my father was denied boarding by AirAsia due to alleged “passport damage” — referring to a minor imperfection on a newly issued and fully valid French passport.

This decision was completely unjustified.

We were later able to travel with Batik Air using the exact same passport without any issue, and authorities in Lombok confirmed no concerns had ever been raised.

What made this situation far worse was the behaviour of the staff:

Aggressive tone and raised voice
Mocking and dismissive attitude
Repeated questioning despite clear answers
Threats to remove our luggage
We were treated like criminals in public

This was humiliating.

My father is currently undergoing cancer treatment, yet there was absolutely no empathy shown. The stress and emotional impact were severe — this incident brought members of my family to tears.

Even more concerning, our passports were photographed using what appeared to be a personal mobile phone and allegedly shared externally. We were told this was sent to Lombok authorities, which turned out to be false.

This raises serious concerns about data privacy and professionalism.

As a result:

We were denied boarding
Flights were lost
We had to urgently purchase new tickets at our own expense

We travel internationally very frequently, and this is the first time we have ever experienced such treatment.

This was not just poor service — it was unacceptable, humiliating, and deeply concerning.

I strongly advise travellers to think twice.

Urgent Cancellation Request - Security Situation

I am writing to express my extreme frustration regarding my booking for round-trip domestic flights.
Due to the escalation of the conflict between Iran and Israel, I was forced to cancel my travel plans for safety reasons. This is a clear case of 'force majeure' and a life-threatening security situation that is beyond my control.
Despite the circumstances, AirAsia’s refusal to provide a fair refund or reasonable solution is unacceptable. It is disappointing to see that the airline chooses to profit from passengers who are stuck in a war zone instead of showing basic flexibility and humanity.
The current refund process is impossible to navigate, and the lack of human support is appalling. I expect a full refund or at least a credit shell that doesn't expire immediately. I will not be using your services again and will make sure to warn others about your lack of support during emergencies.

Not worth your money, terrible service

Not worth your money, it may be cheap, but we went on an ELEVEN hour flight with no Tv, free food like every normal airline, you have to rent a simple thin dirty blanket. We prepaid for food and they didn’t give us two of the meals we paid for, staff were rude About it, terrible customer service, the cancel flights so late that it’s hard to book new ones. I beg you to pay the extra money and not go to this shithole . Don’t forget the generous leg space. If you are taller than 170 cm, you will have to curl up your legs to fit in the seat.
Even WATER isn’t free. Don’t make the same mistake my family did.

Fraudulent booking and no help

Very alarming - I received emails that an unknown person is booking flights using my email address. I've never met this person before, and it's for a country very far away. I've never used this airline or the platform used to book the flight. The only available help is a bot that keeps directing me to give the last 4 digits of my credit card.

Worst experience of my life at. DO NOT FLY WITH AIR ASIA

Worst experience of my life at Amritsar Airport. I’m not even exaggerating—this felt less like travel and more like being systematically drained of money at every single step.

I was forced to pay ₹17,000 for luggage that I had already paid for while booking my ticket. Imagine the shock, the frustration, and honestly, the helpless anger. The staff casually brushed it off with an excuse that because I booked through a third-party app (Booking.com), my baggage allowance “wasn’t registered” with the airline. How is that even the passenger’s fault?

Instead of helping, they kept pushing—almost harassing—me to always book through the airline’s own app, no matter how overpriced the tickets are. It felt like I was being punished for trying to save money. Booking through a third party was treated like some kind of crime, and I was forced to pay again for something I had already purchased.

The whole experience was humiliating, stressful, and completely unfair. You stand there, tired and anxious about your journey, and instead of support, you’re met with cold indifference and blatant money-grabbing.

Suggestion to everyone: don’t fall into the trap of “cheap tickets.” The mental harassment and financial shock you might go through are absolutely not worth it. Pay more upfront if you have to, but choose reliable options.

And one thing is certain for me—never again with . Not now, not ever.

I’m writing this right after barely clearing check-in, already exhausted and frustrated. Still have the entire journey ahead… will update if things somehow get worse (or miraculously better, though I doubt it).

Very disappointing experience with…

Very disappointing experience with AirAsia.

I missed my flight due to incorrect information provided by their team, which caused significant inconvenience and stress. What made it worse is the slow and unclear response from customer service. I am still waiting for a proper resolution, and the process has been frustrating.

I expected better communication and responsibility from such an airline. I hope they improve their customer support and ensure accurate information is given to passengers in the future.

Would not recommend based on this experience.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, I paid for extra carry on and they still made me check in my bag and pay more AGAIN even though we said that we have a total for 6 person flight baggage. Would give zero stars if I could, will never fly with them again.
