Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 623 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the customer service to be extremely poor, often describing it as the worst they had encountered and noting the difficulty in reaching a live agent, frequently being stuck with unresponsive chatbots. Reviewers also reported significant issues with staff, who were perceived as unhelpful, rude, and sometimes even unprofessional, leading to problems like incorrect bookings or missed flights. The booking process itself was a source of frustration, with customers experiencing unexpected flight changes, cancellations, and a lack of assistance. Additionally, many felt that despite initial low prices, the airline tried to extract more money through hidden fees for baggage or seat changes, making the overall value questionable.

Air Asia don't refund

As a French citizen residing in Buriram province, Thailand, I regularly used Air Asia for my flights between Buriram and Bangkok. Following the events in the Middle East, Air Asia cancelled a number of flights in April, offering either a flight exchange or a refund. I opted for a refund. The airline emailed me requesting my bank details, and since then, nothing except for an attempted scam on WhatsApp by people claiming to be from Air Asia customer service. Air Asia doesn't have a phone number for its customers, just an automated system on the app that considers the case resolved. It's resolved in principle, but not in practice. I'm very disappointed with Air Asia. All this for the exorbitant sum of almost 60 euros.

Buy at your own risk

Buy at your own risk. No customer service support after sales. You will have to talk to a unhuman bot name askBo. Once paid, either you pray that your flight is flying as planned or you prepare to lose your money. Do not think of refund. It will never reach you.

I want to speak to a human not a dam robot that asks the same repetitive question I want a FULL REFUND DO NOT USE this RUBBISH airline

AirAsia cancelled the flight and no refund yet

I had booked a flight by AirAsia on May 11. Then I have received an e-mail and text message that the flight was cancelled on June 16. They offered three options including refund. I started refund process. It is almost three weeks and there is no refund yet, even they don't give a proper timeline for refund. I would never book a flight by AirAsia again.

Cancelled flight, waiting for refund 45+ days.

Much like others -- AirAsia cancelled my flight, and I've been waiting 45 days for a refund. Their automated chat assistant is useless. I was "connected" to a "live agent", but haven't received a single response. This is abysmal. I will never, ever, ever book with AirAsia again.

I've read countless stories from other flyers who have been waiting up to 3 years. At this point a Class Action could be taken out against this dishonest, thieving company.

Air asia is in need of special assistance

Air asia is a reduced mobility, in need of special assistance and on wheelchair airlines.

At Surat thani airport, Thailand , we had 3-4 Kgs extra weight, which is no big deal but the CLOWN at the air asia counter behaved as if heavens have fallen and tore our boarding passes and asked us to sort the extra weight instead of informing us the charges for extra weight/kg and payment options.

Not only this, this air asia CLOWN on the boarding card wrote gate number 5, which one would usually associate with the gate from which the aircraft would be boarded! But gate number 5, was actually the immigration counter. This Clown "forgot" to tell us that, as in a lot of countries immigration is usually done from the last airport of departure from the country and we were flying domestic from Surat thani to bangkok.

All in all, air asia is in desperate need of special assistance!.

I wanted an answer to a question

I wanted to ask them a simple question which related to a flight booked from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket. When I tried to book in the boarding pass was not issued to me, they had no record of my booking. I had booked the flight via Kiwi and I suspect that they cancelled it by mistake. I just couldn't get an email address to start my conversation with Air Asia. They have this poxy 'BO' AI assistant but you cant even start a meaningful conversation with a chat bot. The flight was AK820 on 23rd May reference RY5D7M

AirAsia Not a Good Investment

AirAsia is the only airline available. Lucky me. I used their online system to book a round trip fare. They charged me the round trip fare, but booked only one way. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their bot is useless. No phone support so had to go all the way to airport on flight date. They could do NOTHING. I had to buy a separate return. This is called "theft". Just take a look at where they're headquartered. Tells you everything. I'll drive next time.

What an absolute garbage company

What an absolute garbage company, how does this company even still function.

Their app is a complete mess, they’re asking me to pay extra for a change I didn’t even confirm. Now it looks like I’m gonna lose the original booked and it took me legit 24 hours to be able to get to a live agent. Really someone’s gotta do something about this company. Literally scamming people left, right and center.

If I have an option to give no star…

If I have an option to give no star then I will. The worse and ridiculous costumer service I ever dealt with. An AI chat never help, conversation going in circles. They cancel mu flight then refund remains on process and its been more than 60 days now. No email or phone number to call. They should be reprimanded for scamming costumer. Aviation authorities should deal with this multiple concern. NEVER USE THIS POOR AIRLINE

AirAsia app failed at immigration

AirAsia app failed at immigration, one boarding pass disappeared, and we missed our flight even though we arrived early and checked in online. Staff were unhelpful, and we had to pay RM3,075 for replacement tickets after losing RM945. Very disappointing.

everything is an extra charge

Awful airline they charge as much as anyone else but on a long haul flight youbhave no where to charge, (unless you paid 300rm or £55) no entertainment at all. Also if ypu want water its all paid and if you dont have the right sort of bank card or cash they won't give you any water at all (this is on a 12 hour flight) absolutely avoid if possible.

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Non existent. They cancelled my flight but cannot get a refund. I am chasing £512. Have now passed my case forward to MasterCard to retrieve my money. I am a frequent flyer but will never use Air Asia again. They should be made to pay compensation for the stress they cause. Look at the reviews over 91% people given one star.

One star for their customer service

One star for their customer service. Five stars for their cabin crew, pilots and aircraft. That Alice in Wonderland type bot Bo, has great delight in getting you to chase the rabbit down the rabbit hole in lieu of him or her. They totally ignore most issues as though it never happened - ignorance is bliss.
