Do not travel with airbaltic with your bicycle.

When checking the bike in at the terminal in Billund, we were told it was not booked, I showed the booking and the paid invoice, but nothing helped, we were afterwards told in the airport office that the bike was only paid one way even though this was not correct, and I had to write to airbaltic on my holiday to sort this out. So I had to struggle with his on my holiday. Airbaltic promised me that their fault had been corrected and that there would be no problem in the airport on our return flight. But the first thing the check-in person told me, when we were handing over our luggage, was that my bicycle was not paid? I said it was and showed her the airbaltic email and also my boardingpass, on which it was included. She did not care and told me again to pay for it, otherwise I had to leave it. No matter how much I explained and documented this, she did not want to listen and just told me I had to contact airbaltic again, when I got back, and get my extra payment back. This again costs us a lot of time, frustration, holding the customers behind us back, just because airbaltic continue to make mistakes. I have now requested the total amount back, but airbaltic refuses and do not admit all their mistakes.

I booked a flight for my mom Riga to…

I booked a flight for my mom Riga to Yerevan and we planned our vacation, however with no reason flight was canceled bot ways. That was a bit of a surprise. no alternative flights offered just a refund within 28 working days. I love that, just a nice loan with no interest to a company. On top as we needed to travel with direct flights, we had to reroute our vacation flights and incurred more costs. Due to them I lost around 600 Euros. Please be cautious

Imagine you have purchased flight…

Imagine you have purchased flight tickets 6 months ago. You stayed in Spain for 2 months. And when you go to airport at the check-in desk you get a message that the flight is overbooked and your place is suspended😁 Just like that! You will get onboard if somone else will cancel his flight. Luckily I got on the board. Next time will consider 10 times before flying with AirBaltic.

Very unpleasant experience when…

Very unpleasant experience when boarding an airBaltic flight from Riga to Barcelona. My carry-on luggage and handbag met the required size limits. I had just arrived on the same aircraft from Tallinn to Riga with the exact same carry-on.

An extremely rude staff member decided to weigh only my luggage, which turned out to be 2 kg overweight. Of course, I was then required to pay an additional fee. What made the situation particularly unpleasant was that no one else’s luggage was weighed, and mine actually looked smaller than most.

To make matters worse, the staff member suggested I either throw away 2 kg of my belongings or pay the fee.

A classic frustrating experience with airBaltic.

AVOID AVOID AVOID I booked a flight to…

AVOID AVOID AVOID I booked a flight to Riga for a long weekend with friends and was unwell and unable to attend. I am trying to claim for the costs via my travel insurance but they are asking for confirmation from the airline that I did not fly. We have emailed Air Baltic on at least 5 occasions to request this and get no response. The insurer will not pay out without this information- we have approached British Airways who say that they cannot comment even though the booking was made via them. We are currently down £350 on the holiday and it’s disgusting to treat a pensioner like this

Smooth reimbursement and support, no problems. And Starlink on longer flights.

We were unable to land due to weather conditions and were diverted to another airport in a different country, which was understandably beyond the airlines control. My rating is based on their handling of the situation afterward. AirBaltic did reimburse the expenses, I submitted the receipts and received confirmation within a few days. No problems at all + they have Starlink on long flights.

Disappointing experience with Air Baltic

I’m very sad to share my recent experience with AirBaltic, which left me frustrated at the very start of what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation in Spain. After a stressful period, I was finally looking forward to some well-deserved rest, but my trip began on a sour note.

At boarding, I was accused of exceeding my luggage allowance - just 1 kg over the stated limit, according to their scale. I had packed light, with plenty of room left in my suitcase, and even tested the weight at home using two 5 kg sand bags - I had no doubt I was well within the limit. Yet, at the airport, their scale showed 9 kg instead of 8 kg, and the staff immediately demanded an extra €30 in a rude and accusatory manner: “So you didn’t pay for heavy luggage, did you?” This aggressive approach felt unnecessary and humiliating.

I want AirBaltic to clarify when this scale was last calibrated and how accurate it really is, because the reading I saw did not seem correct at all. It is unacceptable to treat customers this way over what appears to be a faulty measurement.

I’ve flown with other airlines and have never been treated this way over such a minor discrepancy. The experience left me tired, stressed, and frustrated right at the start of my holiday.

What a weird business Air Baltic is running, finding any way to get extra money out of customers. Their approach in this situation was extremely disappointing, and unfortunately, it’s enough to make me reconsider flying with them in the future.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with airBaltic and would not recommend this airline to anyone.

First, my flight was delayed by 30 minutes, which might not seem like much, but it caused a lot of stress because I had a connecting flight. I had to literally run through the airport to make it on time.

To make things worse, at the boarding gate they started weighing every passenger’s hand luggage. Almost everyone was told they exceeded the limit and had to pay an additional €30. It felt extremely unfair and like a way to force extra charges from passengers at the last minute.

On top of that, just a few days earlier, the airline canceled my flight from Malaga, which was supposed to happen in less than a month. Now I am being told that the refund may take 1–2 months, which is completely unacceptable.

Overall, this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I will definitely not fly with airBaltic again and I strongly advise others to consider alternative airlines.

I had a very negative experience with…

I had a very negative experience with Air Baltic on flight BT675 from Lisbon to Riga on March 14th at 12:15.

During the flight, a blonde flight attendant was extremely rude and unprofessional. At one point, she made a comment stating that “Hispanics have a peculiar smell,” which I found offensive and potentially xenophobic. This made me feel very uncomfortable and disrespected.

Additionally, I had paid in advance for a specific seat, but without any explanation or consent, I was reassigned to a seat next to the restroom — clearly a worse option in terms of comfort. This is unacceptable, especially considering I paid extra for seat selection.

Overall, I felt a clear lack of respect towards passengers, along with inappropriate and discriminatory behavior that should never be tolerated.

I do not recommend this airline based on my experience and expect this matter to be properly investigated and addressed.

Have flown many times, so far all goood

Have flown many times, so far everything has been good. New aircrafts. No hassle with luggage, dimensions and weights are explained very well, it’s very coinvent to me taking bigger backpack for free comparing with other airlines (e.g. Ryanair). Pre-ordered food is very delicious, but pricy. To kids I recommend taking chicken salads or pasta for longer flights.
Ticket Prices are more expensive than Ryanair, therefore I buy only during discounts. Only every third flight I had starlink internet.

DO NOT FLY

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Staff were rude, unhelpful, abusive and the customer service team online are helpless and useless and wouldn't offer me a refund when they gave my seat to another customer. DO NOT travel on this airline. It also hurts sitting on a flight with AirBaltic for 1 to 5 hours.
No WIFI when I was told there would be

Website Does Not Process Payments

The flights themselves are great, the planes service and cleanliness onboard are faultless.
If only I could actually same the same about the purchasing flights on the website and the service after this.
The website constantly fails to process payments on a multitude of cards, and the general response is that the issue is with our cards. However, we only have issues with airbaltic.com, and when we get payment links in place of the website they always work first time.
My wife has tried to purchase flights since Wednesday, but the surprise, surprise the payment wasn't processed for either Wednesday or Thursday's attempts. Their customer service has been emailed, with the details they always request to generate payment links, but all we have received is auto-responses saying we have not completed the flight purchase.
I've sent the email again regrading the booking for the third time today, so we will see what happens.

Arrogant and disrespectful behavior by the cabin crew on flight BT139 (March 5, 2026)

I had a very unpleasant experience with the cabin crew on flight BT139 from Riga to Copenhagen on March 5, 2026.

When boarding the aircraft, none of the three flight attendants responded to my friendly greeting. One stewardess in particular appeared very arrogant and unfriendly throughout the flight.

While I was asleep with my seat slightly reclined, the same stewardess suddenly pushed my seat forward during the approach to Copenhagen without waking me or politely asking me to put it upright. I was abruptly woken up by this. When I tried to speak to her about it, she simply turned around and walked away without saying a word.

As a frequent flyer, I have been flying every weekend between Copenhagen and Riga since August and have spent several thousand euros with this airline. I have had good but unfortunately numerous negative experiences before, but this was by far the worst and most arrogant behavior I have experienced.

From the cabincrew of an airline, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism. Due to this arrogant and disrespectful behavior by the cabin crew, I can only give one star.

Greedy and immature policies.

Obviously greedy airlines is certainly not unusual, but AirBaltic really set a new low. To ensure that you definitely will have to pay an extra 30€ per flight, they limit the total carry-on and personal item weight to 8 kgs combined. This is very low, and much lower than almost all other European airlines.

The business practices of the airline industry are generally very depressing, but you would assume that AirBaltic does not want to be the most depressing one. Set the carry-on limit to 8 kgs and let people have a personal item that weighs up to 2 kgs, anything else is ridiculous. And if this breaks your profit margins, then just raise the basic price slightly, rather thab selling tickets at a price which is not the actual total price you will pay.

Customers prefer honesty, and the additional resources spent on charging people extra money for carry-on weight - just the added people management alone, probably deletes most of the profit you get from the extra charge.

Extremely overpriced. Compared to other budget airlines, their rates are unjustifiable. I now avoid airBaltic entirely and always book with competitors who offer much more reasonable prices.
