Artificial Insanity

I am a host. It's over 2 months that they hold the payments of 3 bookings. The assistance is inefficient, inadequate, frustrating: they ask for a document that I sent them several times, and every time they ask for the same thing as if I didn't send it. I think this service is managed by A.I. But beyond them there is an Artificial Insanity. I say this because don't want to think to a worse reason: holding the money you manage on behalf of someone else in my country is a crime

If I could give a zero I would

If I could give a zero I would. The worst experience ever. Air bnb canceled my reservation, because I updated my ID, they refused to give me back my money. To make this clear I did not cancel. They did from a system glitch. A bunch of moneys stealing crooks. Worst experience ever.

Airbnb is the worst website I have ever…

Airbnb is the worst website I have ever seen in my life. Booking protection guarantee is a joke and they are not responsible for anything. If an issue happens they keep saying give us an hour to resolve the problem and we will call back you in an hour but they are just playing games with you. I reserve an apartment about less than 2 months before my trip. When I arrived the host was disappeared. I called the AirBnb support at the morning and now it is 4:00 pm and I am tired and am waiting for them to call me. I will never reserve anything with AirBnb and I strongly recommend no one ever does that

Left stranded in foreign country even after confirmed reservation

Accommodation was cancelled with AirBnb by the Host on June 30. AirBnB did not notify me until one hour AFTER scheduled check-in time on July 5. By then I was already at the unit trying to figure out what was wrong with my check-in code. Since I was in a foreign country, I had no Internet or cell service to contact the AirBnb Support Team to find out what happened. Thank God for the friendly property manager who let me use the Internet.

AirBnB support staff provide lots of lip service and apologies but ultimately do not help. After getting nowhere with Customer Support I finally had to find and book new accommodations and pay for a second booking while hoping AirBnb would refund the money for my canceled stay "within 10 business days". Unfortunately, by the time all this was settled, it was almost 9:00pm and too late to check into the NEW listing I just booked. I didn't know that Hosts have 24 hours to confirm and accept even for a reservation paid for on the first day!!?? (Beware of this if you need quick accommodations through the AirBnB). Also keep in mind that even though their website WILL LET YOU PAY for a booking right up until midnight, it's a gamble as to whether the Host will contact you to provide check- in instructions (I'm still waiting for my refund for the first night). I ended up in a hotel through another service for the first night (additional costs I'll never get back).

Also be aware that the so-called AirCover "protection" listed on the site really does nothing. While the "Booking Protection Guarantee" states that "we'll find you a similar or better home...", what really happens is that the support team just tells you to look in the area and offers you a discount. My discount ended up being 20% off of the ORIGINAL booking price and even that took two hours to "confirm with a supervisor". I had booked the original stay over 6 months prior and now needed immediate weekend accommodations, so I was looking at twice the cost of my original booking in places half as nice - so you can imagine how useless that "20% of original booking" discount was.

In addition to providing no actual help, the Support Team will try to get you off the phone as quickly as possible by promising to call you back. This "call back promise” is a complete lie. I never received a single call back throughout the entire five-hour rebooking nightmare. I had to call back four times and a NEW "specialist" every time. When I complained about no call backs, the support team told me I had to be patient since it was a holiday weekend and they were short staffed: the irony that I was STUCK on a holiday weekend, in a foreign country, and was about pay premium, last-minute prices for new booking was apparently lost on them.

Keep in mind that ALL of this could have been avoided had an AirBnB Specialist simply reached out to me at any time between June 30 (the day they were notified that my booking was cancelled) and morning of July 5 (the check-in day and time that I was still in the States with cell and Internet service and could have found something else).

AirBnB may work for some, but the complete lack of any real Corporate policies to assist customers and the company’s willingness to leave people stranded and potentially in danger is not worth the risk in my opinion.

Airbnb Needs to Define Amenities For Hosts

We are new to Airbnb but the one thing I would like the company to do is to define for hosts what the amenities mean. We have reserved places that stated they had dryers but what you get is a drying rack. Same for air conditioning. In Brugge our apartment stated it had air conditioning but the host assumed it meant good air flow. We paid more per day as I thought these extra amenities were worth it. They all have been great hosts but not quite understanding the true meaning of amenities. Airbnb needs to provide the hosts with what is a dryer and what is air conditioning.

This is a review of an Airbnb on Darlington Ave by. Torrey

This is a review of a 12 x 12 Foot Stucco Box I rented on Airbnb that charged me $4000 a month PLUS $2000 in “excess” charges for tearing the sheets - slightly, with my toenails - and for a no pet fee penalty. Ok, I didn’t check the 60 page house rules. But this place was a small box, with 3/4 scale furniture to make the space seem bigger in pics. Buyer beware. This “host” should be in jail for fraud. 11817 Darlington Ave in Brentwood

Stepping Stones Farm and Event Center

Stepping Stones
January 5, 2022
During our recent stay at Stepping Stones Farm and Event Center, we had many negative experiences that prompted us to forewarn other prospective customers.
First and foremost, the “cleaning crew” that the owner uses leaves a lot to be desired, if a “cleaning crew” even exists. Upon our arrival, we contacted the owner about the total lack of cleanliness. She arrived and was shown hair in sinks, showers, and floors in all six bathrooms. We also showed her nail clippings in bathroom sinks. How can a “cleaning crew” possibly miss these items? This is a major “red flag”, which the Board of Health and/or Code Enforcement would definitely frown upon.
Next, when you look at the on-line photos, this lodge appears to be rustic but updated and clean. From our perspective, it appeared very dated and poorly maintained. Paint, flooring, and lighting all need immediate attention, in addition to a number of other items. We paid approximately $1500.00 per night, and we expected a much different scenario than what we witnessed first-hand. Wouldn’t you?
Speaking of maintenance, the beds are unstable. One bed collapsed after sitting on it, and the legs of another bed caved in and couldn’t support a 100-pound woman. Last, but not least, the stair rails are not secured. How do we know this? Because the same 100-pound woman was walking up the stairs to her bedroom, and the stair rail came loose and down she fell. Unbelievable! She has bruises and needed to have X-rays taken. We have pictures of the loose rail, as well as her bruises to support our findings and experiences. This final part about a lack of maintenance is definitely something that will be shared with OSHA.
All of the issues that we have brought to your attention must be addressed before the unthinkable occurs!

Beware: Airbnb canceled my stay without warning.

Beware! Airbnb canceled my trip without warning!

I was awakened to a text December 23, 2021 that my stay that I booked in May of 2021 (7 months prior) had been canceled and refunded. I was not given any reason as to why my stay had been canceled and feel I have a right to know. I had painstakingly searched daily for months to find the best stay for our family trip to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I have used Airbnb on many occasions and felt that I was a loyal customer in good standing. I am posting this for the main reason so that Airbnb can change its policies so that future customers might be treated better and with more respect. I wish that Airbnb had contacted me first. I would have liked to be informed that a problem existed and what I wanted to do about it moving forward. (Did I need help finding a new rental or did I want a refund and how that refund should be sent...) The credit card that I had used 7 months before was not my current choice of refund. That caused a hardship on me that could have been avoided if I had been contacted first. With Mardi Gras being less than 2 months away, prices have skyrocketed. My diligence to plan my trip well in advance was just taken away from me overnight without forewarning or explanation. I will not plan to book with Airbnb in the future because of their unreliability.

Shameful Airbnb host in DC area near Dupont Circle. I made a reservation in Nov 2021 for Apr 2022. I had to cancel five days after I made the reservation (with just cause). The deposit was over $1,100. The host would not refund any of it--he still had four months to book! I pleaded with the host--I had very reasonable need for cancellation--never a response from him. Airbnb corporate was not helpful. I wish I could mention his name!

Airbnb provides the worst support to Superhost ever.

I am a Superhost with Airbnb and I have called 4 times and asked and been told that a supervisor would be contacting me and calling me back. It’s been 4 days and I have called everyday only to get told the same lie day after day. I would strongly suggest not doing business with these people who can’t even call back to try to resolve a problem.

Host canceled my reservation the evening of the reservation. Attempted to contact the host and the phone number listed was not linked to the host, and communication was poor and delayed. When we contacted air b&b support about this. They continued to tell us to contact the host ourselves, and with that being done, they said they would continue to look into the issue and get back to me promptly. It has now been days & support will not answer messages on the app or give any further update.

Don't book with them! They help the host not guest.

AirBNB doesn't care about it's guest. The hosts can get away with whatever they want. They take weeks to address your issue then it is too late to review the host. I will never use them again. I booked a stay in Venice Fl I was in an emergency situation and the host switched houses on me at the last min and there wasn't any other rentals available by that time. Stayed at an occupied home but paid for an unoccupied home. It took a good month for airbnb to finally tell me too bad you should have contacted us the day it happened. I told them I was in a bind and there wasn't any other places available so instead of sleeping in my car for a 4th night I chose to just go with it and ask the host to refund some of my money because what I paid for and what I got were way different. If the screenshot takes that is the host I had, don't use her.

I responded letting her know I did not stay there and asked for a refund. She told me good luck with getting a refund with a laughing emoji. However Airbnb seen the truth and refunding me fully. BIANCA shame on you! I have pictures and screen shots of everything. Just like she told Airbnb she declined my request but at the same time was thanking me for booking. I have to admit Airbnb went above and beyond. Thank you Airbnb.
