Compensation received in six weeks

My early morning flight was cancelled and my rerouting resulted in a five hour delay. Airhelp submitted a claim on my behalf. It took six weeks to receive compensation and to my surprise it was slightly higher than the actual cost of the ticket.

Under standard regulations, the amount of compensation is not based on the ticket price or the level of personal inconvenience caused by the disruption. Instead, it is strictly calculated using the total distance of your flight itinerary.

Here is how the standard compensation amounts are structured:

Flights up to 1,500 km: 250.00€ per passenger.

Flights between 1,500 km and 3,500 km: 400.00€ per passenger.

Flights over 3,500 km: 600.00€ per passenger.

These fixed brackets are legally standardised to ensure that all passengers are compensated fairly and uniformly based on the physical length of their journey.

Robbery

I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. Taken almost half of my compensation in fees for something I could’ve done myself (AND I DID), it’s outrageous. After realizing I was going to get charged for something I could’ve done for free, I denied your services because I firstly sent my claim to Lufthansa themselves and then Airhelp, you said it was too late to deny your services. An absolute joke, if someone asks me, it would be a big no.

Because our teams had already initiated the necessary procedures to secure your payout, the service was already fully rendered, which is why the claim could no longer be cancelled.

Our service operates on a "no win, no fee" basis, meaning our standard fee is only deducted once we successfully ensure the airline pays out the compensation. We apologise if this process caused any misunderstanding, and we thank you for your patience.

I consider your service very important…

I consider your service very important and the result is incredible. I will never have the ability to fight against air companies giants and receive a compensation!
Only thing is that your service comes at a price that is higher than my expectations. 30% fees is something you cannot ignore. But again happy to have even the money after your fees are subtracted.
