All staff were very very rude
All staff were very very rude, angry towards us infront of children. Spoken to like dirt, not many staff spoke English. Took us 1.5 hours to get through security on arrival. No staff had a smile or their face so so busy and the drivers in the airport nearly knocked several people over
Rude Staff Disorganised
Unfortunately staff at this airport just aren’t friendly. It’s a shame because the whole area relies on tourism but yet this is the first impression that greats people. Some staff have great distain for the British which makes you wonder why they choose to work in a place surrounded by them. Passport control have no idea or choose to ignore rules surrounding British residents in Spain and stamp passports just for the fun of it. Staff in shops and restaurants greet customers with miserable faces. The entire idea of customer service does not exist in this place. Fail to see why anyone bothers to come and spend their hard earned cash in the area. The only thing they have going for them is the weather and that’s been questionable all winter.

If I could give 0 stars I would absolute joke of an airport arrived 3 hours before flight had no check in bags went straight through security and through duty free came out of duty free to see the massive queue for passport control so decided to jump in the queue we waited over 2 hours called memebers of staff over to explain we where going to miss our flight and got told to wait like everyone else a lot of other passengers where getting frustrated but felt like they went slower just to prove a point. We missed our flight and had to pay extra for another flight the next morning. Will never return to Malaga airport again staff are extremely rude.
Total chaos
Total chaos! People missed their Ryanair flights today, we only just got it, but that was because we went to the front of the queue, then was told we had to log on the exit scan, I have a house in Malaga, this is the worst I have ever seen it,
So bad it was untrue, I hope it gets better!
Staff so helpful
Staff so helpful
Really quick through security and the assistance teams are brilliant

Quite easily the worst airport I have ever had to go through.
To get through passport control took so long , the latest arrival flight was sharing the same baggage conveyor belt as ours which landed nearly 90 minutes prior.
Staff are incredibly rude and did not appear to know how to deal with large amounts of non EU passengers. We were directed to go to one queue only to be told by an obnoxious man (Staff No27) that if we did not return to the back of the queue in a different area, the police would be called. Needless to say, passengers in the same queue were not happy and a police officer was brought round and we were all told to re-queue.
Travellers need to be aware that this place will add nearly 2 hours from plane to coach/taxi.

As a seasoned traveler this is the worst for delays with passport control
Only 2 members of staff and children are victimized by being made to wait longer. A very poor impression for visitors entering Spain.
Not staffed to cope with EIS
Very badly organised - and a poor attitude to customers. We arrived around 10.30am between Christmas and New Year. There were plenty of the new EIS scanners, but the fingerprint scanners didn't work - so we were directed to passport kiosks. Of 8 kiosks, only 2 were staffed!!!! Enormous queues got longer, but despite this other passport staff stood around chatting. Coming home, only 1 of 6 Passport kiosks, was staffed. This is very poor - they have known about EIS for a long time but have not staffed appropriately
Is it efficient to let travellers wait for an hour for passport check in this modern world?
There was a long queue in passport control and we were already 30 mins in the queue, which was moving terribly slowly. Then I tried to find a way to seek help from a custom staff and suddenly a security lady stopped me and was very rude to me. She didn't listen to my concern about the long queue that might hinder my boarding. I estimated the queuing time and I tried to explain to her that my flight departure time was in 15 mins and she said rudely to me that "you have to wait", not even listened to a single word from me. Then 10 mins later, a man in yellow jacket shouted for passengers heading to Bristol. Then a few of us moved forward and he helped us to move to the front of the queue to go through the passport check. After that, we and other passengers ran to the gate. This is the worst experience we have ever had in an airport.
Prácticas indignantes
Prácticas indignantes, retirada fraudulenta de dinero de la garantía en Nizacars Málaga. Débito de 320 € sin firma ni cotización, con el silencio cómplice de @DoYouSpain. Caso n.º DYS195052547. El silencio no borra la estafa.

Awful passport control hour plus wait
Awful passport control hour plus wait. Put me off travelling to Malaga again.
Then 45 minutes queue to board plane also disgraceful
( easyJet). We’ve missed our slot to take off 15 minutes ago. Plane still boarding only half full. Probably still stuck in passport control queue.

WORST AIRPORT
Absolutely shocking!!!! The electronic passport control is pathetic and everyone queuing up. If you’re not ready for the electronic service…switch it off and employ more human beings!
Unsatisfactory service at Malaga airport
This morning we arrived at Malaga Airport, I’d previously seen the photos and the queues on social media regarding the waiting times and the total disorganisation by staff for non EU passengers (brits especially) being ‘Guinea pigs’ for their new system which is clearly failing, as the proof was a backlog of Paying Customers (your much needed Tourists) hours of queuing after a 3 hrs delayed flight from Birmingham, many people tired and frustrated at the lack of organisation and nastiness from Malaga airport Staff..many Brits in that queue were saying they are planning to bycott Malaga now as this experience is appalling, we won’t be back either, plenty of other places to go on holiday..
Avoid Malaga airport
Avoid Malaga airport
It is a mess at passport control
No a/c or fans working
Toilets in that area are closed
Huge lines waiting time 45 mins to an hour
I can't imagine what it will look like in the summer
Terrible experience. Gates change.
On November 30th 2025, I flew through Malaga airport.
They have changed the gate of our flight from D42 to D61, 1 hour before the flight while we were already waiting on gate D42 as announced in 1 hour and 10 min before flight.
This change was not well announced as the airport announcements are impossible to understand and they do cannot even call the passengers because they have a silent policy in the airport (as they told us).
We lost the flight, at our own full responsibility (as we were told).
Terrible experience. Terrible.
Worst passport control on the face of…
Worst passport control on the face of the earth!
AVOID
One star is just way too good for this airport. Passport control for non-EU citizens (now us Brits thanks to the Brexit fiasco) is totally chaotic. Massive queue for the 6 desks open to get your passport stamped. Not an airport employee in sight. Took nearly 2 hours to go through passport control. Massive, unorganised queues. Immigration officers are rude and deliberately draw out the process. AVOID this airport if you can.
An airport devoid of design the…
An airport devoid of design the passport control is a horror backing up into the retail and food space.
