Had one of of their showers fitted in a wet room by a housing association. We really wanted to choose and pay for our own shower and was initially told it would be OK. So we bought a Mira shower and had it there ready for the engineer and he refused to fit it. And even said "this one is better anyway, it has a digital display" so he obviously took us for morons. But anyway this no-name shower who I had to google it's so obscure is diabolical. Looks cheap, the digital display means nothing...what is "38". At least have a 1-10 scale. Pressure is weak and it's not hot enough.

Total rubbish
Had 1 fitted in 2018 from a disabled grant it wont hold temperature and pressure drops. Called AKW they said they dont sell parts for these and have to buy a new one costing over £550. Utter disgrace as these showers are made for disabled people. Guess they are made to break down after a few uses to rip off the vulnerable. Dont waste your time on these rubbish cheaply made waste of spaces
No problem with the product
No problem with the product - a simple grab handle but the pricing is highly misleading. The website lists it at £7.85. Select the smallest on offer and it becomes £18.32, then £21.98 with VAT. Add postage, a whacking £15.00 (£18.00 with VAT) and the grand total is £39.98! Why did I buy it? I thoougyht that I hadn't as the payment process cut off before the end and then I just couldn't be bothered to go through claiming back and we needed the handle. Won't be using AKW again.
Ok. Now a subsequent edit - Have just noticed that the white one is at the lower price and the brown one (exterior quality) is more expensive. However, the delivery cost is still outrageous.
Rubbish. Don't buy.
We had an AKW show installed in February 2019. It had to be replaced in December 2020, but over the past few months it's not been working properly - the temperature keeps dropping, that's if you can get a decent temperature in the first place. The plumbing supplies business we bought it from had a big falling out with AKW because he's had at least seven returned with the same problem but AKW won't admit that there's anything wrong. Don't waste your money.
Rude engineer
Just had a visit from an engineer. A extremely rude and arrogant person. First off coughing down the phone asking me if I had Covid in the house. When I replied I'm ok but do you have any sign as you are coughing a lot he got shirty with me. Now I have terminal cancer and very ill. I thought it was a fair question.
Then when engineer arrived at my car park, he asked for my parking permit which I keep in my car. I replied no I, then interrupted me saying we'll I'm off to find parking if I won't be back.
This guys whole attitude is aggressive and rude. Why do people have to behave like this. He never let me explain about the parking issue, just didn't care. Luckily enough my neighbour was going out so borrowed theirs.
So AKW please sort this person out. He is just rude.
Technical Support???
I bought a house where the AKW (9.5kw) was already fitted. The bath is utterly new done and not older than two years. The shower didn't work correctly even once. Two settings ice cold or hot. I called the so-called service and technical hotline to solve the problem. They did not even bother to help. The answer was I should buy a new one as I don't have a warranty because I didn't buy the shower. I asked for advice and assistance, which they refused. I don't have problems that the battery is out of warranty, and I would have paid for service. But the arrogance, not even providing a professional answer to my question, is incredible when you think the shower costs £300 and the statement I should buy a new shower, I find outrageous.
This is a unsafe shower unit
Temperature constantly failing and more concerning rising to unsafe temperatures before cutting out (scalding risk). Never seems to be able to maintain a set temperature and pressure is low too no matter what setting used. Fitted as part of disabled bathroom refit
After 2 years I had this shower replaced with a Triton Easy Fit+. At last a decent shower with excellent pressure and temperature control.
TERRIBLE …
After the first akw shower which never worked correctly was changed I was optimistic that I’d just had a faulty one fast forward 4weeks later they are now replacing that one for doing extremely same thing as the original! So it seems to me they are just absolutely rubbish! Definitely AVOID at all costs. Unfortunately because I’m a council tenant I have no choice but to have this rubbish put in again 😞
I have had 3 AKW showers and 2 Pumps…
I have had 3 AKW showers and 2 Pumps all of which have failed or needed repairs within a 18mts of installation. All have been installed by my local council as part of a wetroom (so no bath). The last 1 started having issues within a week. Temperature dropping constantly and the pump is so noisy I have received several complaints. On several occasions I have been without a shower for over a week due to ongoing breakdowns. Not knowing if you are going to be able enter the shower without a problem has now become an everyday issue.
Quick and Efficient Service
I bought Itherm 9.5KW electric shower in November 2018 from local retailer and last Friday when switch the shower on it trip the RCD. I call AKW to advise what has happened and they said it was still in warranty, yesterday Engineer came and said he will initial do electrical test and if there is problem I will replace it with new shower. He replace it within few minutes of testing and established it was shower which faulty.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless, do not buy from this company, my disabled father had one of their showers installed only to find out it was faulty even though they're meant to have a check before they're sent out, after this an engineer came which fixed the problem temporarily and has now once again stopped working, avoid all their electrical goods.
Toilet not fit for purpose
I have an AKW toilet in my bathroom. In 3-4 weeks after being installed in my new bathroom, the toilet has blocked 5 times in total so far. The toilet seat is also very uncomfortable and it moves when I sit on it. The company motto is "life made better". This hasn't been the case for me.
