Hello Everyone,
My wife and I purchased two T3000 thermostats approximately one year ago via Amazon. One of the T3000 thermostats stop working almost one month ago, and the other one stopped working last night.
We called the seller, and the seller told us that their warranty had expired but that we could call alarm.com and file a claim under the manufactuer's warranty. I've called alarm.com several times to no avail. No one at alarm.com has been even able to tell me what kind of manufacturer's warranty is offered on the product.
alarm.com's customer service is unquestionably bad. How is it that no one at the company knows anything at all about the warranty on the very products that the company manufactures?! It's simply unreal. The alarm.com representative searched for warranty information and told me to call Brinks (the servicer). I called Brinks, and the Brinks representative put me on hold while she called alarm.com. The Brinks representative said that the alarm.com representative said that he cannot speak with her because she is not the customer. So, we're caught in the middle of this incredible nightmare, having bought two obviously faulty thermostats, without the manufactuer taking any responsibility. We plan to continue to pursue this, and we will keep everyone posted.
I suspect that, at most, we'll receive a boilerplate response from the company on this platform. But again, we do not plan to "let this go" and will continue to pursue it.

Alarm.com and vendors never tell you if you stop monthly expensive subscription your cameras are useless. WOW Alarm.com are crooks. Thousands of dollars and we are left with useless cameras. Dishonest company and dishonest vendors. Stay away from alarm.com!

We had a RING doorbell camera for years before I thought I would “upgrade” to an actual security system. Don’t even waste your time with this system. Ring outperforms our current doorbell cam that I am paying way more for. I have our camera on the highest sensitivity & it doesn’t even notify me when people are AT MY DOOR, let alone on my porch dropping off packages. The camera is always disconnected from WiFi & you need to troubleshoot it to reconnect it.
Our rep was nice but obviously once he got his deal I can’t get ahold of him & if I do he doesn’t follow through. His whole pitch was “we just want to get our sign in your front yard & replace the old security sign” but I have yet to even receive the new sign.

This company is awful i felt safer with my Ring doorbell the doorbell never works by the time it is able to pull up the person is gone. The people who installed our door sensors did a horrible job the sensor fell off 2 days later. I called to complain and the rep hung up in my face. I’ve been so frustrated it has caused me to cry honestly biggest mistake.

I am the Treasurer of a 2 building condo association in Minnesota, 14 units. We decided to upgrade our outdoor parking lot cameras and add cameras to the front foyers of the two buildings, using a local security contractor that installs Alarm.com equipment. The local contractor did a very good job with the installation and the tech-nicians were resourceful and knowledge-able. Almost immediately the new cameras paid off, alerting us to night time "visitors" trying to enter the buildings late at night - something we would never have been aware of without the camera systems in place. But, there have been two problems.
First, instructions on how to use the recorded camera clip system has been haphazard at best. The installer gave a brief initial description on how to search and store video clips and from that point on, additional advice was on a meter. The technical support that is normally needed to ensure the system is operable by the customer seems to dry up when the last installation invoice is paid. Alarm.com's web page makes it clear that it is not responsible for customer support and its supporting material on how to establish and adjust recording rules, while helpful, requires patient searching. You would think that a company selling alarm equipment to consumers would display ample support materials easily obtainable from its web site, particularly since it refuses to provide direct customer service.
Second, the Log In process is a continuing challenge. Today the user name and the password work, tomorrow they don't. Today the laptop log in works, tomorrow the laptop can barely access Alarm.com. Today the cell phone logs in quickly, tomorrow it won't. From one day to the next, Alarm.com seems to be here and then gone, and if you have a problem, you call the service contractor and work it out while the meter is running.
If my internet service provider behaved like this, I would change providers in a minute. Our condo likes the camera product, but the ongoing internet connection problems and the lack of instructional material has been a big disappointment.

When we first moved to our neighborhood we had a door-to-door salesman come up and sell us the alarm.com package of the doorbell from a company called unlimited protection here in Virginia. We got an outdoor camera for the backside of the house and of course the alarm system, and doorbell the installation and the salesman were kind and it was a simple process. They walked us through the process and got us in a three-year contract of $60 a month. We were very excited to have an alarm system in our area and excited to feel a bit safer.
Unfortunately since we have had it installed it has gone out and disconnected from our Wi-Fi multiple times. When we try to view the actual cameras it doesn’t show up it’s a blank screen, more times and we would like to admit. I would say our cameras work about 50% of the time in the other 50% they are disconnected, or not recording. In the neighborhood we live in it’s important that we have a working camera and we were excited to be able to feel a little bit safer with the camera package unfortunately alarm.com‘s camera is not some thing I will ever pay for again. I would avoid getting into a contract with them we will be getting out as soon as our three years are up and I would stick to finding your own security system with your own cameras. On top of that the actual camera footage is shoddy at best. My husband and I have had the cops come to our door at least 2 to 3 times asking if our camera had caught a situation on the camera. For instants some drunken disorderly person decided that it was a good idea to run into my husbands parked car in the driveway where the doorbell is situated to look at and record, when the cops came they asked if we had any footage of the actual event happening and alarm.com‘s cameras did not pick up anything at all. This is the reason why we have cameras, and they aren’t doing what they are supposed to be doing which is recording issues that happen on our property from other people. We do not feel safe unfortunately with these cameras.
With that in mind our alarm has gone off for our smoke detector multiple times because we have taken out salmon or opted up our over and they are very prompt to call us and make sure that we are OK. So that was nice.
On the other hand we have had two false alarms that Have got off, and we still don’t know why or what triggered it. Nothing was broken there was no loud crash there was no issue outside to cause the alarm to go off, but the alarm went off. In those instances they were also very prompt to call us to make sure that we are OK and ask if we wanted the cops called.
Altogether this alarm system is extremely disappointing for people that are just trying to feel safe in their own home and at the end of this will be putting about 3000 of her own money into it, and it still has not protected us, caught footage that we needed, or works half of the time.

Here we go AGAIN. If my last review was read, an appointment was set up for Jun 14th 2021. Technician called at or about 1200 with a 30 min arrival time. When I asked if I would have to pay for the panel to be replaced, technician stated no because he was only scheduled to replace the panel battery and panel that was mailed to me. Had to inform the technician there was no battery NOR panel mailed. Technician stated he would call the “head” office. Called me back and wouldn’t you know, have to reschedule AGAIN. AM SO DONE WITH THIS SHADY COMPANY!!!

We have loved alarm.com. They have been honest, responsive and reasonable. Always able to get a hold of someone, good product and the maintenance plan has been amazing, with the old system we’d inherited when we bought. They’ve simply helped us replace as sensors go out, no fuss and no muss.

From an alarm point the company is good. Their financial side is another issue. I got a camera system I put $215 down and $60 a month for 3 years for 2 cameras and a DVR. the camera quality is poor no zoom and very hard to pair the dvr to the internet, so I had to call tech support out a few times at 45 a pop. So I decided to cancel the camera part of my package. After 5 months, 2 new agreements and phone calls trying to get it corrected they are still debiting our bank account for the cameras. Also beware if you add something to your package they start you over on a 3 year term.
I am unsure as to why, with all the money I have spent, I can NEVER get a live view to my backyard - only ever loads to 70%. Always says that the camera is disconnected, but it WILL give me a clip, so that is not true.
Having read all of these reviews, I can tell you that the minute I can get out of my contract, I am out of here.
In addition, the ring doorbell extension has never worked....do yourselves a favor, people

I agree with one of the posts - many complaints appear to be from poor installations or installation companies. We have had almost no issues with ADC and the tech support has been nothing but 5 stars. The only reason I have 4 stars is because of a few issues that also might even be out of ADC's control (cellular or internet carrier). - People with poor video reviews are usually are from poor WiFi signals or not enough upload speed. One advantage we have is that we do all types of Low Voltage work so we are familiar how to correct many issues and to be fair a standard alarm company may not be trained to do so. There are a lot of detailed settings within the devices that has taken us over 2 years to discover and we still find more each time we call in for tech support. There are so many more positives to mention here, but you will never be able experience them all if the alarm company representing ADC is not doing their job correctly. We have been in the industry nearly 20 years and we have seen it all...

I wish I never signed up for this service. Had nothing but terrible RUDE service from their TECH support use less and JERKS treated me like a nobody and did not even assist me, just said they can not help and that it's the dealer that sold me the devices that I need to deal with, Both dealer at Laram.com passed me off to one another no one helping with the issue I can not view my camera and I have good internet signal and no known issue. It's the APP issue and no one wanting to help. I am going to be cancelling this service. I should have just gone with ADT they have better tech support and much nicer that these people. Now I have a camera I cant view real time keeps timing out and not getting connection.

My system has not worked properly since it was installed. I tried several times to get ahold of someone who can fix the issue with no result. The local affiliate is impossible to reach and when you do, won't provide any assistance. I am in a new home community and I will do everything possible to tell my neighbors or their horrible service and cheap equipment.

Been with Them for five years and still I do not have stickers for the windows or sign for the yard. Their service is horrible. The thermostat they installed for the AC unit ran the AC unit all the time it ended up costing me $7800 for a new AC unit.

New doorbell cameras are terrible. I have a 4 node wifi 6 network and they don't stay connected. App works ok, service thru local company is borderline.

I am an Alarm.com dealer and love the services and equipment. The bad reviews I saw are from End Users that obviously picked the wrong Alarm company to handle their services. All of my customers love the equipment and services. I am currently switching all customers to this service and away from Honeywell service. ADC is a much better platform for both customers and dealers. If you have problems, get a better ADC dealer.

Good web page. Good technology. Good equipment. Horrible service.
Every time I have a problem, the local affiliate says to call Alarm.com for help. I call Alarm.com for help and they say it's something that should be handled by the local affiliate.
It's just one of those things where the attention is wonderful when they are trying to sell you a new system. Wow, when we had questions and issues during the sale and installation, everyone was johnny on the spot to make sure our needs were met. Then you might as well move to another planet because that's how easy it is to get help.
Never-ending runaround on every little thing........... I'm seriously considering investing in phone recorders just to make it easier to deal with these people who never seem to remember what they promised in the last conversation.

Awful service, we’ve had this panel since May they said due to Covid we had to do a self install. I use to install hard wired systems. Once all of the sensors were in we began having issues with the Zwave devices. Sometimes they would respond I’d try and reinterview them, the panel would freeze up and have to be rebooted. Cameras wouldn’t pair up without having to reset the panel, the Zwave, deleting and reinstalling devices. They’ll work for sometime and then fail off issues I’ve never had with other systems! Their support team and alarm.com keep telling me to delete, rediscover reinstall! It’s a security system it should be reliable!!!
I am a independent security installing dealer and I have used Alarm.com since 2006. I believe the majority of the complaints people have posted here is NOT with the Alarm.com service but with the security service provider/ installer. The service when installed correctly by a professional will work. I have noticed a few problems with the earlier doorbell cameras and wifi range issues. But overall they provide a service and it works great when installed properly.
