Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company. I contacted Alba for a move from Paris to Dubai, and I signed the contract on the basis of a shipment in “groupage” where my personal effects would be shipped as soon as they would fill their container to Dubai, which supposedly was almost full. Instead, they ended up sending my stuff in a an individual box and informed me they had zero control over when it would depart - saying it was completely under the decision of the maritime company and they could not do anything about it. I ended up waiting more than 5 months to receive my effects, paid thousand of euros to be able to have a functional house while waiting, during which they acted in a rude, dishonest and disrespectful way - as if I was the one “confused” about the terms of the contract. When I finally received my effects, they made me pay the port charges of 4000 AED, constantly threatening me that if I didn’t, I would be paying additional storage charges. Noting that they had assured me there would not be any additional charges to pay back when I signed the contract. I sent them countless emails and letters to ask for an indemnisation, and what I received in return is a person from their legal team calling me and trying to confuse me with lots of empty words and sentences. He would never answer me by email even though I insisted several times. They are a company of thieves and charlatans. If you want to keep your sanity intact, and avoid a heavy financial burden, stay away from them.
