Great itinerary, amazing hotels and the best guide ever!

The Private Tour was outstanding in Vietnam & Cambodia! The guides and drivers were EXCELLENT.
The experiences were amazing as was the first class treatment. Highly recommend for those interested in a complete experience, i.e, culture, food, people sights.

Our guides were all great. They were knowledgeable, excited, on time. All of our lodging was top notch. We would advise adding a day to Manuel Antonio though. One day, book ended by two long travel days was not enough.

We just returned from our trip to Southeast Asia visiting 4 countries over 16 days. It was an amazing trip . . . the sites we visited were amazing, the guides were fantastic, the logistical details were seemless, the food was incredible. You know it's a good trip if you know you want to go back . . . and we're going back to see more.

Absolutely incredible journey, meticulously planned. The safari guides were top-notch, and safety was never a concern. If I could adjust one thing, it would be modernizing the clothing advice.

My husband and I are in our 60's and have taken 2 trips with Alexander and Roberts and have been extremely pleased with both of them. We are normally independent travelers, however when we want to go someplace out of our comfort zone, we like to take a tour. We went to Egypt in Feb 2020 and Peru in May 2025. The small group size (16 or less) is wonderful. It enables you to be on a mini-bus instead of a full-sized bus and you can get on and off of the bus quickly. If you visit multiple areas within a country, they do "pass you off" from one guide to another, but in my opinion, that is ideal because you are getting a local guide who knows that area. We found all of the guides to be extremely knowledgeable and well-trained. The hotels and food were more luxurious than we thought was necessary. With the small group, you are sometimes eating in restaurants and can order from the menu instead of eating all buffet meals. The travelers were mostly aged 50 and up, but we found the tour quite active. We saw the guides help people deal directly with minor illnesses rather than leaving them to deal with it on their own.

I recommend booking on a trip that is already marked "guaranteed" meaning that they won't cancel due to low enrollment. I believe they might guarantee a trip once around 5 or 6 people sign up. Our Peru trip had only a group of 8.

Alexander and Roberts trips are not cheap, but we felt that we got our money's worth in the high quality of the trip. They don't advertise much, but I don't think they have to since word of mouth does the job. Many of the people on our tours were repeat customers, or if first time, said they would definitely be recommending the company to others!

One driver was a half-hour late, which made our timed entrance into a scheduled site tenuous. Also, there was no overall coordinator to confirm times and place to meet.
One pre-paid dinner did not allow for choices, which was a problem.
It our guides were great and the hotels wonderful. None of the drivers spoke English, but were friendly and efficient.

Alexander & Roberts arrange wonderful tours with excellent guides. The hotels are excellent as well. They only take groups of 16 or less, so it is always a pleasure traveling with them. There are always unexpected additions. The price of your tour includes transfers to and from airports and tips to all, including bus drivers and local guides. You are responsible for a tip to your tour guide. I have traveled to China and Japan with A&R and I recommend them.

I thought I had done this. But, I don’t mind doing this again! Because, I had the most incredible trip in my entire lifetime! I didn’t know that having a visa and passport were 2 different entities. My guide and Mackinze from AAA got me through this mess!

A+R thought of every detail. It was the most stress free vacation I've ever taken. The lodging was superb, service was impeccable and the safaris were fantastic! I wouldn't change a thing.

The guides were all great but the person we will most remember was our driver for the day to Siena and San gimignano - he was so personable , pointed out sights along the way, gave us wonderful suggestions for dinner and shopping and went out of his way to make our trip the best - he is the one we remember most fondly he was our driver October 20th,2025.

We completed our first trip with Alexander & Roberts and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. First, their itinerary on our trip to Morocco was the most complete and comprehensive of the six tour operators we considered. Their travel app is the best that I've ever seen, allowing one to not only see the full daily itinerary, but to utilize functional aspects like a currency converter, travel information, flight scheduling, etc. The tour included every meal out and all tips with the exception of the guide. The quality of the accommodations (hotels, riads, etc) and restaurants were all 4 and 5-star caliber. The Fast Track assistance through the airport was also appreciated, expediting our passage through customs. All in all, this was a terrific trip and tour operator! We've already passed A&R along to several friends for consideration. You won't be sorry!

This is my 4th trip with Alexander and Robert’s and they never disappoint,The first trip I joined them was in Peru and the hotel that we stayed are all Botique hotels,and at the center.Walking distance from the City Center so you can walk to most of the sites.i always travel with my sister and we we’re impressed with the friendly service from the Drivers ,and The tour director,are very knowledgeable.our trip this year was Crossroads Albania and Macedonia,it was awesome our meals was all farm to table which I love,and amazing.i can’t think of anything negative.
And they try to accommodate your request with a smile.
I’m planning to go to Japan next year and I only want to go with Alexander and Robert’s.
