Goods undelivered, Alibris keeps both the goods and the money
I ordered a book. They sent it out, but for some reason the postal service did not deliver it to me and without notification returned to the sender (Alibris). When I contacted them looking for solution (re-sending or re-fund), they responded that they will not solve this as I have contacted them after some obscure deadline (90 days). They want to keep both the product and the money despite no fault on the side of the buyer and zero goodwill to solve the issue.
Don't Buy From These People
Having ordered a CD through this company I have attempted to cancel it long before it was posted but received no reply from the seller who went ahead and posted it anyway. All my attempts to contact Alibris regarding this problem are returned as undeliverable. I decided to send an innocent email, nothing about returns and once again undeliverable, clearly this company is blocking all the emails I send to their customer service address. I have never dealt with a worse company than this, they appear to be completely disinterested in the customers and are happy to take the money then ignore you. Don't buy from them.

I am very happy with the service and treatment. Thank you very much for everything.
Ordered 3 books from the USA. Still waiting...
Ordered 3 books from the USA, paying around £45 for postage. I was happy because they aren't easy books to find. Coming up to 50 days of waiting now. 'Normally within 2 weeks but allow up to 45 days' they said when I enquired a few weeks back. They did respond quickly, to give them their due. Not even tracked delivery which is pathetic considering the extortionate postage costs. I've paid a lot less for tracked delivery that's arrived within days from the USA. Currently awaiting response to my latest email. Hideous experience for my first ever use of alibris.

They are always among the best prices for used books.
Books were delivered within 2 weeks, well done.
Black Hole
This is a review of their seller program not the shop itself.
I signed up to list mainly books and DVDs. Not a single sale, in comparison I sell on eBay daily.
A complete waste of money, time and energy.
For many years I was very happy with…
For many years I was very happy with alibris. However ordering books from the US is problematic, as orders only tracked to a shipping place in the US. I am still (Feb 15th) waiting for an order placed in early December which reached the US site on December 18th. I contacted the sellers, who told me it was alibris's responsibility once it reached the US site. I've contacted alibris, but in spite of saying they aim to reply within 48 hours it is now 6 days and I have only had a confirmation of my query. It's sad that a firm that were good now have such poor service. Just adding that it has now been two weeks and no reply at all from Alibris. I also contacted the sellers again, but they told me to get back to Alibris. So no book, no refund. Terrible service.
Order taken, delivered 5 weeks later, refund request ignored
My DVD order placed Nov 21 or 22 was finally delivered Dec 27, despite asking for the order to be cancelled and refunded. This was because the US Postal Service told me it had been delivered on Dec 4 to someone in California USA (!) and because I had sourced the same title from another and cheaper supplier. Alibris UK and their agent Zoom in USA have not responded to several messages and emails.

I've ordered two books one was cancelled by seller and eventually I was refunded ....2nd book same title shipped from America 16th November its now 12th Dec no tracking number although the seller replied to my email straight away to his credit and said it was shipped to Albris I've written two emails and heard nothing from Albris it's been a month no book and no replies to emails awful company steer clear
NB after I wrote this I emailed again and got a generic automated response !
Unreliable
Scam. 3+ weeks and my item hasn't arrived, although USPS claim it was delivered "to an individual in Bell Gardens, California" (I'm in the UK).
Emails go unanswered and there is no phone number "to save on costs". I cannot get a refund, nor can I return the item as I don't have it.
Update: item finally arrived, scuffed at edges, after 5 weeks. I won't be pursuing a refund for the damaged book, based on others' experiences of this process. I also won't be using Alibris again after the appalling customer service/company policies and shipping times/concerns over whether it would arrive at all.
Sent item to a WRONG COUNTRY
Extremely poor service. I ordered an item and paid immediately a month ago. After waiting for weeks and weeks with no update, I eventually found out that they have managed to send the book not only to a wrong address, but to a WRONG COUNTRY in a WRONG CONTINENT!!!
Talk about the sheer magnitude of ineptitude!!
Since then I have been running from pillar to post - contacting the seller (who is blaming Alibris), Alibris UK and Alibris.com - with no response from any of them. This too for a book that they hugely overcharged me for!
What a joke.
*AVOID*
*AVOID*.
Ordered 3 books , 2 arrived quite promptly, 1 was marked as dispatched weeks ago by Greener Books (London) but has not arrived. No response from Greener books to 2 emails. An automated response from Alibris stating that if I reply it will push their response time back. I waited 2 weeks before responding and a month later I've still had no further response.
Don't buy a thing here
Don't buy a thing here. I ordered a book for €297,-: Logjam (Tom Sachs). The book was in the Hennessey + Ingalls store in Los Angeles USA. The book has been sent to an individual in Bell Gardens (also USA)?!?!? while my address is in the Netherlands....
I haven't received an answer to my many attempts to contact them!
This is outright fraud, collecting money and delivering nothing.
Long wait for delivery - but got it eventually.
Ordered a book from USA on 8th October 23, seller charged my VISA card immediately and sent book to some central consolidated forwarding address in California, where it was delivered by UPS on 20th October apparently.
Delivery finally came on 4th November. So I guess I'm happy - except that because of the multi-stage delivery from the USA I was worried with the delay that the order had got lost!

Great pricing, excellent customer services & quick delivery - perfect!
Found a book I have been after for ages, as a US book & out of print. Great pricing & low shipping cost to UK. Never bought from USA before, so shipping process was new to me but Alibris customer services were amazing - so prompt to respond & helpful. Book arrived today, quicker than expected & am beyond thrilled - packed with care my used book is pristine, just like new. Thank you Alibris & HPB Books
