Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 62 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently struggled with unresponsive customer service teams, experiencing frustratingly long phone wait times, completely ignored emails, and entirely unhelpful communication regarding their urgent claims. Many people also reported unexpected policy claim denials, difficult bureaucratic hurdles, and severe, unacceptable delays in finally receiving their financial payouts. Some reviewers were happy with the assistance provided, specifically noting prompt, professional, and highly efficient support during unexpected vehicle breakdowns or travel issues. A few consumers were also delighted when their policy claims were handled successfully and fully reimbursed without encountering unnecessary pushbacks.

What a scam company!!!!

What a scam company. I had a travel claim. Everything within the policy guidelines. I got Pneumonia. Got absolutely all the documents from the hospital abroad. So, I went back to the UK . I submitted my claim to Allianz with like 10 document scans. I'm waiting 2 weeks, then I get an email. "We need a certificate from your local GP that says you're health." LOL what? If you live in the UK, you'd know. It takes you from 2-4 weeks minimum. To get an appointment with your local/usual doctor at home. So, they've technically lowkey refused my claim, for less than a 1000 euro. Lol what a scammmmmm.

This is my first and last claim with them.

This company's claim process is most…

This company's claim process is most tiring and unsupportive. No one is helping me since 2 months now. Each time they ask for same documents again and again and even though everything is provided they are not ready to support. How can one trust you???? You have being very insensitive during a very tough period in my life. My claim 20241467851 is being pending for over two months???

DO NOT BOTHER SCAM

The insurance is about as much use as a tits on a fish. The call centre staff work in India, they have zero customer service standards and do everything in there power to not pay the claim! I wouldn’t be surprised if in years to come there’s a no win no fee case against them stating they have missold this product. If I could give no stars I would!

A traumatic experience with Allianz…

A traumatic experience with Allianz Assistance through our Lloyds Bank account. My wife has a heart condition but was fit to fly when the booking was made in March.Unfortunately she experienced chest pains just before our week's holiday in April to Mallorca. It was too risky to fly and had to be cancelled.I submitted a claim for travel insurance for flights, hotel etc. supported with a Cardiologist Consultant's Medical Report and Certificate, a letter from him. This was unacceptable.Despite this, they insisted on several times, a GP's medical certificate, despite the fact my wife was under the supervision of a Consultant.A GP Medical Certificate was sent together with Medical Report from a Professor of Cardiology following a successful scan. They have now requested further information from a GP!
This company will constantly ask the same questions.Their strategy, it seems is to wear one down, so that one goes away, to deliberately draining one’s energy and efforts and to make unfair demands.I am surprised that Lloyds Bank are associated with this travel insurance.

No insurance is as good as Allianz insurance.

They have a full team whose sole job is to find a way not to pay a claim. I had to educate them on their own policy wording. Do not give up. Take them to the ombudsman, If you are not already insured don't bother.
If you find yourself needing to claim you will lose the will to live long before your claim will be settled if at all.

Don’t buy any insurance from them

I bought a travel insurance from them. My flight got cancelled and I request a claim later on. But they rejected my claim even though flight cancellation is covered in the insurance. Do not buy any insurance from this company because your claim will not be successful most likely

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! I have been waiting for the reply of my claim for over a year now! Used their travel insurance in a trip when Allianz was still the provider of Revolut card and even though they said that wouldn't be a problem, I haven't had any answer about my claim yet!
This is a SHAME.

They do not pay for cancelled flight and delay expenses

I had a cancelled Easyjet flight out of Cyprus to Liverpool airport on 27th June. Was delayed more than 24 hours and had hotel and taxi expenses associated with my delay until I managed to book another flight to Manchester next evening. It cost me in total £630 in expenses and thinking that Allianz through my Lloyds Bank account would cover it so no worries. When I submitted my claim on return they refused stating that they do not cover cancelled flight costs and expenses because I did not pass through security and the flight was cancelled due to air traffic control. I have had insurance with Lloyds bank for decades so now I shall be looking elswhere. DO NOT take out cover with these people and make sure if you get Insurance your are covered for ALL EVENTUALITIES. Beware of the small print.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. It is clearly routed to an Indian call centre. Background noise on their end made it so hard to hear. I wanted to inform them of a medical condition that had come up since my purchase but couldn't fathom if they had taken note or not as they didn't ask for any details. I will not purchase this insurance again as it seems a bit suspect.

I have insurance with them

I have insurance with them . Unfortunately, I experienced a significant theft valued at several thousand pounds. Despite diligently submitting all required documentation, including a police report and receipts, over the past two years, they have consistently failed to provide any compensation. Their repeated requests for redundant information and their unprofessional handling of my case have been exceptionally frustrating. Furthermore, they requested non-existent details from my bank records, demonstrating a lack of competence. After extensive efforts, their offer of a mere 300£ settlement is wholly inadequate given the value of the items stolen. I strongly advise potential customers to avoid this insurance provider.
I urge everyone to steer clear of this company. Their lack of professionalism is beyond comprehension.

Shocking event insurance

Shocking event insurance. I purchased this for an event that was cancelled and wanted a refund and to cancel insurance I was given less than a third of what I paid and basically told because I was refunded they would only refund premium. It took so long to get a response that I dread to think of I were to make a claim. I will never use this company again. Awful slow service that even the most patient person could not tolerate.

Do NOT use Allianz for ticket insurance, they WILL scam you!

My mother was unfortunately unwell and we were unable to make a concert. I contacted Allianz due to having ticket insurance and filed a claim with all documentation required. My claim was accepted and a payment confirmation for a full refund was sent... Sounds great right? WRONG. Payment confirmation states 5-10 working days and here I am 3 weeks later still chasing my refund.

After today that will be 5 emails, 4 calls speaking to 9 different customer service representatives, being passed pillar to post as well as one of them saying "Well call back again next week" and hanging up the phone. Also the constant sentence of "you were refunded the amount 25.06.24 and it has settled", clearly it has NOT as I would not be wasting my time contacting your useless customer service team. This was an amount of almost £200 and it seems Allianz think passing you around will make you leave it alone and let them get away with stealing your money.

After no resolvement from Allianz I have now had to open a claim case with the Financial Ombudsman. Do NOT use Allianz for any ticket insurance, they will scam you.

Terrible company

Terrible company. Have been paying for travel insurance through Allianz for years yet, the moment I get a health issue all cover is withdrawn. I found cheaper better cover elsewhere with the post office. So I suggest you don't use Allianz as they are total pants.

Avoid Avoid Avoid

I have travel insurance through Nat West and you would assume they would only use a good insurance company. Today I made a claim because my flight was canceled for the accommodation and travel. i.e. to the airport and back, and guess what they don't cover my accommodation refund, a travel insurance that doesn't cover something with Travel, you couldn't make it up, best advice was ask the airline to pay for my accommodation. Nat West you need to get someone else for your customers.

Avoid, avoid if you value your time, money and peace of mind.

I upgraded my Lloyds Bank account to a Platinum account to take advantage of their travel insurance, trusting that Lloyds Bank would only partner with reputable companies. Unfortunately, my experience with Allianz, the insurance provider, has been terrible.

My phone was stolen abroad, and I submitted a claim on May 30, 2024. Since then, I have received no correspondence from Allianz. When I called to follow up, the agent assisting me seemed completely clueless, repeatedly asking what I had submitted while looking at my file. This happened multiple times with different agents, each promising to call me back with a definitive date for my claim resolution. One agent even mentioned they couldn't provide a timeline because it depended on the number of claims they had, saying it could take one, two, or even three months.

Three weeks later, I finally received an email stating that they were looking into my claim and would get back to me. Frustrated with the lack of communication and professionalism, I have since downgraded my Platinum account with Lloyds Bank and filed a complaint with them. I chose this travel insurance based on Lloyds' recommendation, but it feels like Allianz is run in a completely disorganized, untimely and unprofessional manner.

Avoid, avoid if you value your time, money and peace of mind.

Wish I could give this company 0 stars

Wish I could give this company 0 stars. Purchased insurance for a concert with ticketmaster who use Allianz Insurance. I was unable to attend the concert due to a serious medical emergency and have been trying to get a refund. The two companies have been sending contradicting messages regarding lots of excessive documentation that they 'require'. They are purposefully lengthening the process of requesting a refund and making communication more difficult so that people will give up on their claims and let the greedy companies keep their money. Both companies should be ashamed of themselves.

If Allianz make a mistake- you will pay! Be warned…

Due to my brother suffering a catastrophic bike accident we had no option but to change our plans for our upcoming holiday.

Travel agent gave us the option to move it to a different date at no extra cost.
However we wanted to double check we would be fully covered with Allianz if we cancelled holiday. We told on two separate occasions that we were covered including our 7 and 10 year old daughters.
We were reassured and decided to go ahead with cancellation knowing Allianz would cover the loss.

When we got our final claim through I was shocked to see that the children weren’t included in the cost- they then informed us that the children were NOT covered. Even though they said they were on two separate occasions.

Due to their misinformation we have had a financial loss of over £400 on top of the devastation we are dealing with my brother being in a coma.

I’ve complained and they won’t fully take responsibility for their mistake and instead have offered £100 as a good will gesture.

My argument is- if we had been told the children weren’t covered, we wouldn’t have cancelled the holiday and instead moved the date. Due to them telling us something different meant they won’t pay out.

Exhausted by it all. With everything else that’s going on, I will be spreading the news on social media and to the local paper when they interview us about my brothers accident. It’s like they have gone out of their way to make our life harder right now, when we could loose our brother.

Be warned- if Allianz make a mistake, twice! And there’s recorded proof- you will suffer the financial loss.
