I booked my two week Zambia Lion Encounter volunteer vacation through Amanzi Travel and I would book another vacation through them in a heart beat! Throughout the entire process the staff at Amanzi especially Gemma and Ingrid who were both amazingly helpful. I am afraid because of my circumstances I was the "problem traveler" but you never would have know it because of their patience and even working on weekends to make sure I got to my vacation!

I have wanted to go to Africa and work with lions since I read Living Free by Joy Adamson when I was eight years old and Amanzi Travel helped make that dream come true. For two weeks I got to work with lions every day. I was also able to enjoy white water rafting on the Zambezi River, Zip lining at Victoria Falls and a day safari at Chobe National Park in Botswana! The whole trip was a dream come true and the next time I need help fulfilling a dream I will call Amanzi Travel first thing!

Fantastic service from start to finish. Delt with Pat & Gemma, and I had quite a few questions even before I had made up my mind that I was going to be booking an Overland Tour, they answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease, I wanted to sort out extra days before and after my trip and they helped me get this booked and sorted. Amanzi kept in contact with me before my Trip started and Contacted me again upon my Return to ensure everything was okay.
Amanzi Travel in short - Excellent Customer Service, Excellent Communication Excellent Company, I will use them again in the future for any future Volunteering Projects I choose to do in Africa.

I developed a great relationship with Pat prior to departure as she was incredibly helpful helping me decide on the project I wanted to go on. She also went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable with the departure information and answered all my questions

Well, I can honestly say that I had the best experience of my life at the Vic Falls Lion project. Pat & Gemma made the booking and everything up to departure such a smooth and easy process. I was never worried about travelling alone as I knew I would meet people there and I have made some great friends (volunteers as well as staff).
You immediately feel welcomed and if you have any issues, there is always someone willing to help.

My time at the project and Vic Falls was amazing, I went in with an open mind and joined in as many of the additional tours and excursions that I could, which was great! The lions were a joy to work with and be around, so much so that I miss them so much - it is amazing how close you get to these animals after just a few weeks. I feel that I contributed to getting the lions to stage 1B of the programme. The guys made my actual birthday day memorable by going to Sunset Lodge and Boma restaurant and I would like to say thanks to all who were involved I really appreciate it.

Vic Falls is an amazing location as well, from the actual Falls to the bungee jump brige - in your spare time you will have plenty to see and do!!
What I would like to say to end this with, is if you go to these projects, go with an open mind, it will not be five star accomodation or food, but it will be the best experience that you ever invest in! Book today, you will not regret it.

Going to Africa has been a dream of mine for many years, especially to be around lions. I thought it would always remain a dream until I was diagnosed with brain cancer before I even turned 30 which changed my entire perception of life. With that, I began to do my research and landed on Amanzi Travel's website that brought me in. When I asked which of the lion programs would have the closest interaction with the lions, I was told the Lion Breeding and Release Program. They were not joking. The program overall was everything I could imagine and more. I got to walk right alongside majestic lions that see you as one of their own pride and sometimes even rub their gorgeous faces right up against you. Not only do they have the lions (cubs and adults) to interact with between walks, enrichment, cleaning, and feeding, but also 4 elephants that have been rescued and horses that you get to be involved with. The entire trip was simply amazing. Great people working there, beautiful animals that you get to help hands on and new forever friends from all over the world. I have officially checked a major one off my bucket list and would do it again in a heartbeat with the tremendous help of Amanzi Travel!
