Flights canceled, never had a refund

We booked our flights in Bolivia with Amazonas months in advance (May 2023). In August, we discovered the day before (just because we double-checked in a real office) that our flights had been canceled. We asked for a refund, and after months, we are still waiting for that. Avoid this company as much as you can. I will reserve the right to update this comment as soon as I receive any contact from Amaszonas or the refund that I'm expecting. Dario Bollini.

Fairly good experience

I had a fairly good experience with Amaszonas flying Santa Cruz to Asunción. The plane was small and comfortable, plenty of room, the staff were professional and friendly. It would have been nice if they had offered water or something on the plane (no trolley service), although I suppose it was good that they didn’t try and constantly sell things like other airlines. Flight was delayed by about an hour, although we were notified of this about a week in advance. Not bad.

This airline does not rate one star it…

This airline does not rate one star it deserves minus 5 stars. In February this year my daughter left to teach English in Brazil. At the aiport in Brisbane QANTAS would not let her on the plane without a ticket to leave Brazil - sadly (after all this ongoing disaster) this was not necessary and neither USA where she travelled through or Brazil required or asked for proof of a ticket for leaving Brazil.
I purchased the ticket at home online using my credit card for my daughter to go from Brazil to Peru and my daughter was at the airport - i loaded all her personal information including name and passport number into system because it was my credit card Amazonas system changed the name to my name - then the system without me pressing the final purchase button processed the ticket. I notified Amazonas immediately outlinng what had occurred, asked would it be possible for a name change on ticket - weeks later answer was no - submit online for a refund of only 75% -returned in 60 days. My daughter in Brazil had her host where she was teaching English contact the company by phone at head office in Bolivia and speak with them in Spanish to ensure they understand what had happened - no help at all. I agrued that it should d be 100% since it was their systems fault! I submitted online outlining my case - about 45 days later i contacted Amazonas to find out how claim was progressing - they said they couldn't find claim and that i would need to submit again and wait another 60 days! I submitted again - i should have received my refund on or around 24th June 2020. The flight in quuestion was for the 10th June 2020! On the 15th of June i recieved an email from Amazonas saying thanks they had recived my claim but they wouldn't be paying refund till after quarrantine was over and then it would be another 60 days from then - this is FRAUD. This situation has nothing what so ever to do with COVID 19 - DO NOT BOOK a ticket with them - i would usually read reviewx first but this was a time pressured situation that we had to purchase a ticket in a great hurry as QANTAS was closing the flight - and what a debacle this has become- Amazonas will probably claim bankrupcy next!

Worst airline ever

Worst airline ever.
They keep delaying your flights and never bother to talk to you at the airport. I honestly think they do that professionally since 90% of all reviews say the same. Our flight was in total 7 hours delayed. They ruin your holiday and they should be ashamed. Our flight was from La Paz to Uyuni. Book with BoA but don’t give Amaszonas any more money to support what they are doing. If the flight is not full they push you to the next one pr next one or cancel.

Bad organised airline

I bought a ticket with the credit card of my son. But my son lives in Europe and I was travelling in Bolivia. When I already booked the ticket I got a mail that I had to bring the credit card of my son with me . That was nog possible of corse. I ha to buy a new ticket. They promised to pay my son back. This is 3 month ago and we still did not get the money back, I send verbal emails but I got no answer. This is really terrible.

Bad and overpriced airline

I do fly a lot and I'm sorry to admit that Amaszonas is the worst airline I flew with so far. Much worse than cheap low-cost companies anywhere in the world.
First of all, it's very often late. All of my delayed by at least 2-3 hours. Most recently I flew from Uyuni to La Paz and we're said our flight scheduled at 7.50pm is delayed by 2 hours. After 4 hours waiting at the tiny freezing airport nobody even bothered to inform us that the flight arrives next day. Everything was closed here and we couldn't buy even a bottle of water. Amaszonas didn't care at all and provide us absolutely nothing.
To sum it up, I paid £150 for a one-way 50-minutes long flight which was at the end slower, less comfortable and ten times more expensive than an overnight bus. I strongly recommend you think very hard before booking any overpriced flight with this unreliable and unprofessional airline. Get a flight with TAM instead.

Remember your credit card

Amazonas is a smaller airline that does short flights within South America. My partner and I were using them to fly from Uyuni to La Paz in Bolivia. When we received our e-mail confirming our flight it stated that you needed the credit card the flight was booked in with to check in. I did not have this on holiday with me. The manager of this airline at the airport, Yesmy Albino, assured us it was a common occurrence and that we had to buy another flight, at a more expensive price obviously, but that when we got home we could simply e-mail and get the original flight refunded.

Since our return home in September I have e-mailed and chased with everything going into a black void. Not even an acknowledgement. I'm not sure if this is legitimate or some sort of fraud that they run but there is definitely no sign of any refund.

If using this airline please remember the credit card used for booking otherwise you will be paying for two flights to travel when you only need one.
