Amazon customer service gave me incorrect information and then refused to take responsibility for it.

Before returning a third-party item, an Amazon agent explicitly confirmed that my return shipping cost would be reimbursed and noted this on my account. I relied on that promise and paid CAD 50+ to return the item. After the return was completed, Amazon admitted the agent was wrong but refused to honor the commitment.

I was passed between multiple agents and supervisors, given contradictory answers, and ultimately told there was no further escalation ; despite Amazon acknowledging the mistake was theirs.

If Amazon makes a promise, you should be able to rely on it. In my case, I couldn’t.

They do not refund your money for…

They do not refund your money for returned items in a timely manner. They wait a month before they give you a refund. They appear to have just started this policy within the pass few months.

Amazon Scam

Amazon doesn't have money ? needs more and more .They push with sale , you can't anymore cancel item in the first 24 h , shipping is worst and worst. AI customer service make you crazy because is O , a real garbage . I payed for express shipping and I get nothing, tried to cancel in the first 24h due to shipping issues, not accepted . If you return a package you must pay even if they delivered your package late . STOP buying from Amazon!

Service has gone downhill

When I first paid for Prime a few years ago service, pricing and options were terrific. Lately:
1) the search engine doesn’t take me directly to what I ask for. I have to search among dubious lookalikes to find it. Wastes my time.
2) 1 to 2 day delivery is rare. For the last few months the site promises this on the product page but then when you go to checkout the wait is significantly longer. Never next day. Don’t lie to hook me in. I’ll still probably buy but be less annoyed.
3) you must do your research. The price may be cheaper at a local store. That said often the price on Amazon is great value.
I asked for my latest purchase to go to a drop-off location and be in Amazon packaging so it would be safe. Instead it was left at my door unprotected and visible in an unsealed box in winter. I also opted for both items I bought to be delivered later so they could come together. Only one arrived, the other will come separately tomorrow. So much for Amazon’s offer to create less stress on the environment. I could have waited a day longer for a single delivery.
I don’t want slave workers to get me a package so fast they have to suffer. But some honesty about delivery standards is in order.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs. It may work for you know but their policies have changed. Horrible customer service. Everyone automated. Your money may be tied up for 2 weeks because they are "unable" to do anything. Horrible experience.

5 years ago: trouble free delivery's, customer service reachable, malfunctioning high end items exchanged 3 to 5 days. good times. currently:Amazon customer service is unreachable. and they said to me” we’re sorry to hear your package was stolen shortly after delivery”. For 10 days 2 packages stolen. Good score.Amazon package delivered through ASL services dropped front off our house at 23:57 hour. And stolen 01:52. Next Intelcom : package delivered 14:40 and stolen at 15:13. not sure if it is carrier issue or Amazon issue, but for sure i am done buying from Amazon.ca

Amazon has zero support.

I've been buying from Amazon Canada for a few years, I have monthly subscribe and save orders. I use Amazon Video and Amazon Music. And I'm paying over $30 a month for these services. But I can't get support at all, ever. Since Canada Post has had trouble with strikes and rotating strikes, even though they're still shipping, Amazon refuses to ship my orders, nor acknowledge that they're not going to ship them. My Amazon orders sit in limbo for months, sometimes, and then, finally, I get an email saying that my order's been cancelled. Thanks Amazon. Not.

Shitty morals but good company none the less

Always been a flawless experience! Used them for over 4 years now, though I don't typically admire the incredible monopoly they've built, and now slowly destroying home grown brands by ripping them off with cheap Chinese knock off products, i cant argue with the customer support. They have always been bang on in their responses and never once not been able to solve an issue.

I’ve been an Amazon prime and business…

I’ve been an Amazon prime and business member for years I recently had my phone stolen and number hacked so I had to buy a new phone and number.so the hell I went through was horrible.i had a 2 step verification on my account but knew all the passwords and login
For almost 4 days ive been calling back and fourth with Amazon sent forms in and I was supposed to have been fixed in 24 to 48hrs max this is hour 60 I just called back to cancel Amazon because they do not want to help a small business get back up and running I asked for a manger he said he sees it all and said will take another 24hrs when I asked for higher up supervisor he said they’re was no one higher. I beyond frustrated because I can’t open my doors until I order my cleaning supplies.. I feel like I was no helped at all and would recommend finding a supplier that cares and I guess I had the highest up manger so he basically hung up on me. I still do not have any further info so I still can’t get in and when you cancel you can’t use the emails or numbers on previous accounts I
Expected better customer service and just more help as I’m sure this could have been easy to transfer and get done asap I will be report to bb to add the full disclosurer of this experience

I was promised to be refunded for my orders (3)Proactive due to a Recall and they played me..one associate after another and then a so called Leader too and they just do nothing. BAD, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!

Seriously, I Don't Know What Happened To Amazon But Their Business Sense In Terms Of Customer Satisfaction Has Gone Down The Crapper. What isn't funny is the amt of money spent and lost-horrible supervisor-cx service. My money is tied up with them-and I want to purchase a back brace elsewhere. AMAZON Commits Fraud and Denies It!

14 Different Agents in the CHAT (which is difficult to get a hold of someone in the chat) Two Phone Calls Two Supervisors and TWO FRAUDULENT CHARGES by Amazon.ca. I signed up for 6 Equal Montly Payments INSTEAD AMAZON charged my CC the Full Purchase Dollar Amount. Not Once, But Twice and still had the odassity to say that even though we charged you the full purchase amount from you, rest assured we're still only going to take the Monthly Payment from you, though we already charged you for the full purchase amount. Huh, What??? I kept asking them, why would I have signed up for SIX Monthly Payments if you were going to charge my CC the Full Purchase Amount at the start?? No Response! They tried to put the onwership on my CC Company. I called my CC Company and they said NO the Ownership for this charge is 100% Amazon.ca, not the CC Company. However as said 14 agents later, two supervisors etc., all just giving you the run-around. So basically AMAZON.ca has committed CC FRAUD and refuse to do anything about it. I wll be calling the Police and getting in touch with my CC Companies Fraud Department! NEVER BUY from AMAZON EXCEPT to PURCHASE THE ENTIRE ITEM AT ONCE!! (Do Not Sign up for their Monthly Purchase Plan.

I was promised a $55 promotional credit…

I was promised a $55 promotional credit by an Amazon supervisor after Amazon.ca wrongly flagged my account and admitted the mistake. Amazon later retracted that promise, downgraded the compensation to $15, and offered inconsistent amounts across different agents. I spent hours across multiple chats and emails repeating my case, received dismissive and contradictory responses, and experienced significant stress because of their mishandling. I have screenshots documenting the supervisor’s approval and the subsequent retraction. I escalated to executive customer relations and regulatory channels; Amazon still refused to honor the documented commitment. This is misleading, time‑wasting, and unacceptable customer service.

Just read the reviews carefully.

Have generally had a good experience as long as I read the existing reviews carefully. Return policies are also pretty generous and I often have the rare damaged goods replaced at no cost.
