HELP!!!

I am a long time customer of Amcrest and I have to say the outsourced customer service is among the worst ever!!!
I started out with an 8 camera and DVR unit. The DVR stopped recording. There tech support could not get it working and instead had me purchase a new hard drive for $105. It still wasn't recognizing the hard drive. Tech then had me have the hard drive re formatted at a cost of $25. It still wasn't working. I decided to upgrade the system to a 16 camera unit. The new unit working for 2-3 months and it too stopped recording. It wasn't recognizing the hard drive. I again went through the same process as described above to no avail. They had me replace the hard drive again at a cost of another $105 and reformat at another cost of $25. They sent me a refurbished DVR which is also defective and won't recognize the hard drive. I requested a NEW DVR considering all my out of pocket expenses when it was the DVR that was defective all along. Amcrest refused by email. I asked for this issue to be escalated to Houston. I received no response. I have called numerous times only to get disconnected or speak to someone in a foreign country that does not have a strong command of the English language. Anyone who can tell me how to reach someone in Houston Texas at Amcrest please HELP!!!

See the response below from Amcrest, its the same response he gives to all. No help other than to call or email. They don't answer, they put you on hold for ever and do not solve your issue. What a shameful company
Today is Feb 5 2021 and I still have not received a response or replacement DVR

For these cases we recommend users to try switching out the power supply on the system and making sure the user is installing a surveillance hard drive as they are more built for constant recording states. would leave zero stars. shipped a faulty camera that lasted 7 months. they replaced it with a refurbished camera. it dies in six months. because the second camera dies outside of a year from original purchase date they won’t warranty. crap service and support and don’t stand behind their products.

Great 4K Camera and Support

I am really impressed by the quality of AC4K-600 camera. It has given me a delightful experience of photography. I was running on a low budget and wanted a camera for my photography addiction which made me purchase this camera after a good deal of research. It is almost comparable to the high-end G-Pro cameras but with a lower price tag. The quality of images and videos it captures is amazing. The product came with a user manual which was fairly easy to understand. Though it might take some time to get a grasp of all the functions and buttons on the camera, it is worth learning. It comes with a waterproof camera case which is the icing on the cake. It is really a small camera that looks cute and is lightweight. You will have to purchase a MicroSD card which does not come along with the product. The after-sale service of the company is really amazing and I would be looking forward to purchasing my next set of home security cameras with you people.

customer service bad

droid app stopped working. they dont why and someone supposed to contact me after initial call. no one has. Now cant access cloud and desktop apps. Supposed to respond to contact form within 24 hours. been 72 hours and no responses. sorrybi bought this camera. feel like tossing it in the trash. BEWARE!!! before buying

Software sucks

Software sucks. They fail to update to operate on new operating system upgrades. Customer support is like going to a dentist who was trained as a zoo keeper. Cameras are okay, too bad you can't get them to work on their unworkable software.

Their customer service is not just…

Their customer service is not just terrible, they are incompetent, unresponsive, and, in the case of dealing with one specific support person, didn't even know what he was saying. After having explained the exact situation in my first message, it took them several weeks and many email messages for them to even acknowledge what I said in the very first message. They not only don't know what they are doing, some support personnel don't care and the company itself didn't know its own product.

Overpriced and horrible customer service

The motion lags. It constantly times out. Image quality isn’t sharp enough even in HD setting. Doesn’t save continues recording.

Not to mention, Terrible customer service. I received a camera as a gift and I purchased 2 more. So clearly I’m a loyal customer. Unfortunately the gift camera is faulty and doesn’t work properly. The person who bought it didn’t keep the receipt. I’ve contacted their customer support, technical support, replacement and sales departments. They are unwilling to help because I don’t have proof of purchase.
Sorry but exceptions are made ALL the time. I’m sure Amcrest can replace a faulty camera without proof of purchase to keep a customer satisfied! What happened to customer service?

Bought a dvd from them paid over 320.00…

Bought a dvd from them paid over 320.00 for it. They where slow in shipping it so I sent them a email. After a couple of days they responded with it’s on it’s way. Should have by Wendsday. It showed out for delivery and at 3:00 it showed held for wrong address. Fedex would not help in anyway with getting it fixed called Amcrest to get it fixed and they kept telling me it would be delivered that day. It did not. Next day the same thing fedex just held it and was waiting for amcrest to do something. Well I had to leave area and could not wait. Called fedex no help said Amcrest had to recall it. Tried to get them to do that and they would not. The next day it got delivered to who knows where. Amcrest refuses to replace, refund or even accept fault. I got over 30 emails to and from them on this all shows no help whatsoever. Stay away from them they do not care about coustomer service in anyway.

I needed support for a new wireless…

I needed support for a new wireless camera. The technician would not even tell me if there were directions for connecting the wireless camera to a wireless router. (The manual only has instructions for connecting to a phone or wireless computer), The only option he gave was to let him take over my computer, and absolutely refused any other options, and hung up on me.

If you have a wireless router with no ethernet ports the mobile set up is the only method to get the camera into the network on wireless. Amcrest app updated on my Android phone…

Amcrest app updated on my Android phone app now unable to access cameras. I am 1500 miles away from home and these cameras were bought for this reason, to monitor when away. Now, totally useless. Will be thrown in trash when I return home in 2 months. When I spoke to Tech support I couldn't understand the person I spoke to. I would not buy this product.

BEWARE PURCHASING AMCREST CLOUD. If you should ever need to deal with Billing Support, then GOOD LUCK! You'll get a runaround like you've never experienced. Unless you speak Hindi, expect a language barrier along with long waits, disconnected calls, email after email which from their content appear to be generated by bots instead of humans; weeks and weeks of delaying tactics. THIS COMPANY IS GARBAGE. Their Technical Support is dismal and Billing Support defies description. Never have experienced anything this pathetic associated with a product. Do yourself a favor and build your own cloud server before you even think about using these clowns.

I rarely write negative reviews but this time, other customer have to know how bad is the amcrest customer service!

During a night, i murder happen in front of my shop. Then, in the morning, a police officer asked me to extract the video from my camera to help him resolve the case. I tried to extract video but i was not able to do that, so i contacted amcrest tech support...

It took 8 days, many email and 3 phone call before i get help from amcrest, but it was too late: with my hard drive, my amcrest recorder just record 4 days back!! So 8 days after the event, the video that the police wanted was already erased! This is very frustrating because now the police officer think that i refuse to give him the video, and he think that i have something to do with the murder in front of my shop because i refused to give him the video!!!

Amcrest tech support is VERY SLOW, VERY BAD, and the put me in a VERY BAD SITUATION!!!!

As for video extraction, How long a video is available before the overwrite is dependent on many factors which including Hard drive size, camera recording resolution, bit rate, FPS, among other possible factors.

We also provided an extensive knowledge base to assist the customer as well as providing support through email and phone.

Good Camera Horrible software and customer service

Good Camera, horrible App
I purchased 5 PTZ POI IP cameras. It cost me over $2,000. I installed them in few sections of the world.
Everything worked grate until new software SmartPSS came in.
******I am changing back to 5 stars after 64bit UPDATE****
Now my cameras are worthless since no one can help me to connect to them.
They tried 100 times with NO result.
Why can’t you update your old program to 64 bit?????

Customer service is terrible

Their products are good but technical support is one star. They are slow to response and do not know what they are doing. They could not fix the live view and recording issues for more than two weeks so I canceled the cloud subscription.

Awesome Products, Challenging Support Process

Camera very good. Offshore, difficult to understand tier 1 tech support, bad. Tier two tech support, good. You just gotta sludge through the process to finally get a hold of them.

Tier two contacted me. Super good support there but still quite an overly complicated return process.

Their tech support is no support at…

Their tech support is no support at all. They are offshore in India. Each time I have called support I receive someone who knows less then I do about the product and therefore I get placed on hold multiple times while they attempt to lookup the answer. Then they proceed to give me an answer that is either completely wrong, vague, and or useless. The cameras perform well when they actually work however at this point I would have to say they are quite buggy as is their web control via a plugin.

I have been dealing with amcrest since…

I have been dealing with amcrest since December 12 of last year. I had put in a RMA since the 12 of Dec and now its January 16,2020. I was told that there would be a replacement and nothing yet. I had pay the $15 for shipment and have not received anything as of yet. I spoke to a supervisor and expressed my feelings about the company that has a lack of communication. No email or call back in regrade the replacement . Until this date nothing. They had created a label to ship out the replacement since the 13 of Jan. Fox put it on hold until they receive the package. I am VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH AMCREST. my intentions is to do a report against the company with BBB.i would NEVER recommend anyone to buy from amcrest.
