Went 2 nights in a row.

Went 2 nights in a row.
Always looking for proper Italian food. My test is always carbonara. Just perfect.
All our food was awesome. However the ambience and the attention to detail by front of house is impeccable. Some superbly trained front of house staff. Will be back . Will actually travel far to visit again.

Ordered the pasta with mussels which were miniscule to say the least.. got six and 3 were missing… chef said they fall out but i never found any… probably because they were so tiny. To top it all they forgot about us and had to wait 3/4 hour for our main…. With no apology.

Complain to press about bookings not showing up but refuse to contact local customers willing to go at short notice

The restaurant is excellent in many ways however they made a complaint reference how many bookings had went unfilled due to people not turning up. I certainly do not condone this however I contacted Amici willing to go should they have a no show at any time and they simply were not interested! I was informed they don’t do that.

My response is clear don’t complain about folk not turning up and empty tables when local customers try to support you and are told we don’t do that!

Worst service ever

When we visited Amici, they had a sharing meal of three steaks. As we were with our son who was about 8 years old at the time, we wanted two of the steaks rare and the other one medium well-done. We were told the kitchen wouldn't do this. When we asked for the head waiter he started off by being sympathetic, but the kitchen wouldn't let him put in our request - so we mumbled to each other that we should review the restaurant later. He heard us and told us they wouldn't serve us no matter what we wanted.

Never had such poor service - ever.
