Their rates are dishonest on the…

Their rates are dishonest on the Power-to-choose website since they make you sign up for a GoodBundle plan for additional charge (!). No thanks, you sleazy corporate scum. You aint my Amigo for sure. Also note that similar dishonest rates and Goodbundle scam are perpetrated by JustEnergy and Tara.... Unsurprisingly, these "three" companies are all owned by the same holding company. So much for consumer choice...

This company has highly dishonest…

This company has highly dishonest billing practices. I noticed my bills were increasing ($160 \rightarrow $180). To test if I was overconsuming, I traveled for a whole month and turned off every single appliance, including the AC, TV, and the Refrigerator.
The bill for the month the house was completely empty was a shocking $250. This is completely unacceptable and proves they are either using severely inflated estimates or have faulty metering. Customer service was useless and offered no resolution.
Avoid Amigo Energy at all costs. I have filed a complaint with the PUC.

Amigo is not your Friend

Signed up for days free plan because we use more energy during the day. Was told I use more energy while I’m sleeping at night, which is impossible, and was told to switch to nights free plan. Bills are not transparent at all. This is just another scam energy company. Don’t waste your time and money. I’m switching providers immediately

The worst scamming electric company

The worst scamming electric company. They lie about someone switching your electric and then send u a huge a.s bill for early termination contract and other dumb charges. They are money hungry . If you have this company and need to give them a call please record your conversation. They will try to screw you over with anything you say. I hope a huge lawsuit come their way so they could Stop screwing people over.

This company does not answer questions…

This company does not answer questions even if you finally talk with someone.. I cancelled my plan at the end of the term but then got another bill which I had paid previous Do yourself a favor and seek other providers. They are not your friend! They are high dollar

I wrote a review two weeks ago about my experience with Amigo electric company.
I regret the whole experience. Today I notice I still haven’t received my refund . After being on the phone with 2 associates and supervisor I was told it would be 7 to 10 business days 🤷🏽‍♂️ the problem is I was told the same thing about the same deposit 2 weeks ago. I was also told there’s no record of the conversation I had with Amigo associate 2 weeks ago 🤔 I thank GOD that I’m blessed enough not to rely on the refund for other obligations but what if I did really need it . I would be screwed smh it’s amazing how fast companies like this take your money but move slow as hell returning it .

NO FRIEND OF THE COMMUNITY

NO FRIEND OF THE COMMUNITY! A Parasite instead!

Worst Company for Electric! My 97-year old mother lives at poverty level of income, she lives alone in her home and has trouble seeing and hearing. She has been an Amigo customer for more than 6 years. She never missed a payment, but recently when paying her bill, she accidentally saw the previous paid amount for December on her January bill and thought it was the amount due, so she paid $138 (again) instead of $184, leaving $45.10 balance. She never received any phone call or email, and eventually received a disconnect notice with 7 days to respond before her electricity would be cutoff. She was so scared and worried, she immediately wrote a check and put it in her mailbox, then reluctantly told me the next day what was happening. 1 week is probably not enough time to insure the payment reaches them and is processed. So, I called Amigo, spoke with several agents and a Supervisor, and tried to ask for some compassion for her. They simply have none, no consideration or compassion for an elderly woman alone or long time customer to give even a week extension to insure the $45.10 amount is received, after having received 75% of the payment. These money-grubbers wanted her to pay again now or make payments on the balance, starting today, even though full payment has been sent. I'm never seen such a Mickey Mouse operation, full of greed and evil, even for a long term customer who is very elderly. She lives on a tight budget and doesn't have the money to pay twice, or to spend $30 to cancel a check and then pay again on the phone, as these people are demanding. So, I paid the bill and we will be leaving Amigo Energy soon. Not only have they proven to be Charlatans, but they are NO FRIEND OF THE COMMUNITY! Just full of greed and hate for their customers. We won't be supporting their Greed and poor service any more.
UPDATE: I already spent the time to write my experience AFTER calling the number you suggested and describing how unhelpful they were, Charlatans! Is everyone there clueless?

Amigo energy is the worse company i…

Amigo energy is the worse company i have ever dealt with, you ask for an extention on your light bill because you dont have any money and you have to pay something in order to get an extention, that is just plain stupid i got the heck away from these ripoffs and no one else should ever get lights thru them they are pure trash and dont care anything about the customers financial situations

Amigo energy customer service ate great…

Amigo energy customer service ate great and I feel sorry for them because I know they have to deal with angry frustrated clients. Amigo energy as a company is a scam! I don't trust that they bill based on individual usage, they estimate based on the the weather and bill ridiculous amounts of money. I called because my bill was high and they were telling me how my bill for next month will be higher because we shall be freezing but in Texas we were supposed to be in the 50s. This person was talking about a previous year experience when February was freezing and that is why I believe they don't charge per usage. And sure enough my bill in February bill doubled when we did not have extreme weather. I won't recommend them at all.

Amigo does not honor the prices of the contract

"At Amigo Energy, our fixed-rate plans offer a way to control energy costs."
They have that posted on their information and it ended up being a lie. I signed up for a hassle-free plan and was told that my rate would be a fixed rate for two years. I even asked if the rate was inclusive of all fees and was told it was and that it would not change for two years. I called the company because they are now charging me 15.4 per kilowatt and I agreed to a 14.2 per kilowatt price. Their excuse was that if delivery fees were increased, my price would increase. We the customer have to honor their contract and stay with the company but the company does not honor the contract when it comes to keeping the price the same. Everyone with Amigo, check your price per kilowatt.

Amigo es mi Amigo

My experience with Amigo was excellent for the two years we were with them. Unfortunately my wife decided. to switch providers. We were a little early switching and incurred a fee on our last bill. the team at Amigo promptly worked our account and corrected the fee. Thank you Amigo. In a year when the current contract is up I will strongly encourage my lovely wife to switch back. Thank you again.
