Excellent location and excellent villa, absolutely all you will need there to enjoy your holiday, even down to welcome food pack on arrival. Would highly recommend

A superb holiday home in a great and peaceful location. Gerard is the perfect host who is on hand before and during the stay. The villa is really spacious inside and out and is well maintained. The outside space is perfect for families of all ages and is not overlooked at all. Easy to get around to Puerto Rico and Mogan via taxi. The Spar and restaurant are a few minutes walk away and very useful. All in all a lovely place to enjoy a relaxing holiday and will be booking again!

Our family of 6 adults just completed a holiday at Villa Carmela in Anfi Tauro in early January. It was a wonderful place to stay; truly ideal for us to enjoy a restful, yet activity-filled vacation. The villa is comfortable and spacious, so it is easy to find quiet time on an individual basis, while being designed so there are great gathering spaces too. The villa has a large kitchen with full-sized fridge/freezer, grill, and dishwasher so that dinners in are quite manageable. The location provides a quick walk to Tauro beach, which currently has no changing facilities, but that’s not a problem as it is easy to get back and forth to the villa. On a positive note, however, the beach is not crowded with shops and people so spreading out a towel for a session in the sun and surf is more private than on other beaches in the area.
Most importantly, Gerard was a wonderful host, as others have said. He was communicative from the very first and remained in touch as we finished our stay and headed home. He provided great, helpful information and made us feel very much at home in the villa. I highly recommend a stay on this lovely, diverse island in this convenient and comfortable location!

Just back from a lovely 5 nights stay at villa Carmella. Host Gerard is one in the most helpful you could hope for from suggesting where to go to eat, explore or just chill on the beaches which were well within walking distance. The Villa was well equipped and all the beds were very comfortable. Good sleep had by all! The views over the golf course and out to sea were spectacular especially at sunset. We ate out at the local grill (waking distance) and had fabulous steaks then visited Mogan mall a few minutes drive away and ate in the restaurants there. All very good. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Gerard for everything.

We stayed as a family in Vila Carmela. From the moment we booked, the entire experience has been wonderful. The information received, advice and local knowledge of the island was so helpful. We were greeted on arrival and it just set us up for a wonderful holiday.
Vila Carmela is stunning. So well equipped, we wanted for nothing. The location is perfect for exploring the local beaches and villages or if you have a car then the entire island is so easy to access from the GC1. The villa is incredibly private and not overlooked. Many an evening spent in the hot tub gazing up at the stars. We cannot wait to return for another stay in Vila Carmela. Thank you Ger.

Ger is a fantastic host, he gave us plenty of knowledge about the island and property prior to the stay. The duplex was just as described, bed was very comfortable, it was great to wake up to the fantastic views. The hot tub was a great addition at the end of a day, as was the use of the bbq. I can't think of anything that could have been improved. 5 stars alround. Thank you Ger, for a great break!

The Villa is in the perfect spot overlooking the wonderful golf course with a distant view of the palm trees and the sea. Inside the Villa are 3 very spacious en suite bedrooms, a huge lounge and kitchen that spill out to the garden, pool, lounging area and the added luxury of a large hot tub. Perfect after a day on the course. It is well maintained, extremely well kitted out, we did not need anything more! The owner Gerard met us on arrival and could not have been more helpful. What a great guy! Local knowledge and recommendations all spot on. We were able to settle in within half an hour of arriving.

We finally made it to Villa Carmela mid-August after being scuppered by covid last summer and at Easter. Ger was amazingly flexible about moving the dates and couldn’t have been more accommodating. The villa is fabulous! In fact it was quite overwhelming after waiting over a year to get there. Lots of space, comfy beds, well appointed kitchen, great bbq, lovely outside area with pool and hot tub. The location is perfect with beautiful views over the golf course and out to sea. We really couldn’t fault it at all. Ger is a great host and a pleasure to deal with and we will certainly be back!

First of all I want to mention the excellent communication with the owner as well before as during our stay. He really did everything to make our vacation perfect. The villa is ideally located in the Anfi Tauro Golf complex. You are surrounded by the exotic golf course full of palmtrees and you can see the sea.The pool offers great refreshing but top of the bill is the outdoor jacuzzi. This is ideal to admire the sunset. Furthermore the villa is very well equipped with a large kitchen with dual fridge, salon with IP TV on large HD LCD screen, indoor jacuzii and 3 bedrooms (all with their own bathroom). This is the ideal location to relax with friends or as a family.We recommend to take a golf initiation and to visit Puerto Mogan (Venetian harbour style) and Playa Amadores (nearby beach).

This place was amazing. Everything we wanted as a family.
High Chair & Cot was in mint Condition which really helped our 2 year old have a decent nights sleep.
Spa Shop 2 mins had everything we could have wanted onsite also.
Will defiantly be booking again in this Vila or any other properties he may have.

As a family of 4 people we spend a week in Casa Holmston in february 2020. The beautiful pictures of this property matches fully the reality. The duplex is spacious, fully equipped, spotless clean, nicely decorated and has great views from the spacious and sunny terrace.
Gerard gave us, prior to our arrival, ample information. We met him on arrival and he gave us further information about the duplex and some recommendations what to do and where to eat. The communication with him was always quick and to the point. The welcome pack on arrival was much appreciated. The private hottub was a nice bonus. The bedrooms had a lot of storagespace and the beds were comfi. Gerard also installed a lot of Dutch tv-channels just in case.
The complex is quiet, well maintained, has a nice communal pool, a well stocked Spar and a great Tauro Grill restaurant with a wide arrange of foodoptions with affordable prices.
The location could not be better. Ammadores beach and Puerto Rico with all the bars and restaurants are a few minutes drive away. We could park our rental car just in front of the duplex.
Gerard returned our deposit instantly.
Are you looking for a luxurious property in the south of Gran Canaria, on a great location with a perfect host, we highly recommend Casa Holmston. Do not hesitate and book this place!!

We just spent three weeks in the 19th Hole and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, having had a great two weeks last year in Casa Holmston. So happy are we that we have already booked for a month next year, back in Casa Holmston again as we will be a smaller party.
What makes us come back? Well obviously it’s one of the few places where you can get some guaranteed winter sun without long-hauling it. More to the point the Anfi Tauro Golf complex is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Architecturally the stone-built houses are really attractive and all are high quality in terms of internal finishes. Within a minute or so walk from the villa there is a restaurant – unpretentious but excellent food at reasonable prices and first class service. Next to it is an excellent communal pool area and a small Spar supermarket which is more than adequate for most day to day shopping. The standard of maintenance of the resort is first class – everything looks immaculate. For more information see our Casa Holmston review in March 2019.
For us, though, the biggest plus is that the owner of both these properties – Gerard O’Reilly – is the best villa host we have ever come across. He owns the larger Villa Carmela as well. Dealing with Gerard is a joy. Every email is answered promptly, often within minutes. He provides a mine of information on the villas, the complex and the surrounding area. Any minor hiccup while you are there is dealt with, usually on the same day, on top of which he is a genuinely nice bloke. There are only two other destinations we have holidayed twice in. This will be the first we have visited three times, which says it all really.

We have been staying at the 19th hole for a few years now and find the area and facilities excellent. The villa is in a small gated community and is very private and quiet. It is quite close to the first hole on the Anfi golf course . There is a raised area at bottom of the garden where you can sit and watch an eclectic mix of swings on the first tee. From the same spot it is lovely to watch the sun going down over the Atlantic with an aperitif before dinner. The villa is very well situated about 2 minutes drive (1/2 hour walk) from Amadores which itself is only 1 mile from Puerto Rico.Las Palmas is about 40 minutes drive on the GC1 and there are plenty of places inland within easy reach.
Gerard the owner is always available on email and very attentive should you require any assistance.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Holmston, thank you Gerard for excellent hospitality- communication prior to and during our stay with a thorough welcome/ guest pack and arrival essentials which were all very much appreciated and made the holiday very easy and relaxed.
The duplex is very spacious and clean and well furnished. Location was excellent- lovely views over the golf course, shared swimming pool and excellent restaurant on the complex. We loved Amadores which is walkable but only a 5 minute drive away.
We have recommended Gerard’s accommodation to our friends and would very much like to return.

After Norwich beat Man City in early September (2019) Gary Lineker said “You can’t beat the Canaries in September”. Well Norwich have gone on to struggle but he’s definitely right about Gran Canaria: if you’re after sun in Oct/Nov with a reasonable flight time and cost, this is the place.
And you’ll be hard pushed to find better accommodation than Villa Carmela.
The villa is a spacious and luxurious with a very well-equipped kitchen. At various times there were up to 7 of us but you never feel crowded and the kids loved the hot-tub and pool. From the patio area you have uninterrupted views across the golf course to the sea; during the day you can watch dodgy golf swings, in the evening magical sunsets. With no one overlooking, the villa is quiet and private but within walking distance of a Spar shop, 2 pools, 3 restaurants/bars and 3 beaches.
The communication and service from Ger is top-class. From reservation to check-out Ger was in touch with helpful information and guidance. When we had queries or issues, they were resolved immediately with an email or a visit.
Thanks for a great holiday Ger. We’ll be back.

The 19th Hole Villa has been fantastic and the location is great with golf green areas. Also the service given by Gerard has been good. We had a meeting at arrival and after that we had some email questions that help us. Our doughter loved the pool. And we could enjoy a fantastic vacation.

The 19th hole, been 5 years running and it is still as perfect as the first time we came.
Can’t recommend highly enough, if you want a 5 star villa this is it .

This is our 3rd visit to Anfi tauro rentals. Gerard is extremely helpful with lots of local information and makes your stay the best it can be.
The villa is stunning, we love the space and it provides and every room having its own bathroom/ toilet is great.
The outside area is well kept with a lovely pool and hot tub for star gazing at night!
The local spar is reasonably priced and tauro grill is a friendly restaurant with great food and it's a very short walk away from villa. The community pool is very well kept and great to swim in. We always have a fantastic time here and would recommend it in a heartbeat! Puerto Rico, Amadores and Mogan are only cheap taxi journeys away, making Tauro a great place to stay. All of Gerard's villas are stunning and you'll not be disappointed.

Tremendous Villa -I don't normally write reviews but felt this holiday deserved it so much. Once you step inside this villa you can relax and unwind completely. It is very clean all over from the bathrooms to the bedrooms to the Kitchen/Dining and beautiful garden and very well equipped throughout. We are a family of 6 all adults now and nobody wanted to leave this tremendous villa! The owner and his staff are also so helpful but to be honest we did not need anything - everything was as it was stated on their website and more. They had just completed fitting a new en-suite which was beautiful and a great addition. The area and the complex is very cleverly constructed all low rise and finished in stone which blends with the mountains and the lovely views to the golf course and the sea. Only one word to be repeated 'Tremendous'
