The pizzas are extraordinary and…

The pizzas are extraordinary and delicious. Very tasty sauce. But if you order a delivery, the pizza ALWAYS arrive damaged. It is important to look for delivery services that can guarantee the integrity of your product!

Crap service crap food crap experience

Arrived for our booking at 18:00, politely shown to our table, then the fun started.
A young hip dude I nicknamed “Billy the Bun” on account of his ridiculous hair style came up and asked rather bluntly if we’d booked (despite the fact we’d been found on reservations by his colleague) When we said yes, he more or less demanded to see proof which fortunately we had on our smartphones; he slid away.
Drinks orders were given, a couple of cocktails at easily the highest prices in Manchester, but hey ho nobody forced us, then we tried to order food.
The waiter disagreed with my wife’s choice, said she would do better with a different dish, and actually physically poked her whilst telling her to change her order!
Food came, entrées were just about passable, but as soon as the last forkful went into our mouths the plates were whisked away before we’d had time to swallow. For mains, the pizza resembled a post nuclear bomb fallout scene, it was literally soup in the middle it was so “wet” fair enough the flavours were nice, but if I’d wanted soup, I would have asked for soup!
We decided to forfeit desserts in favour of a cocktail at the bar, got up and walked over; Billy the Bun charged over, bill in hand, and more or less demanded payment on the spot.
Slightly irked I offered to leave if they were that desperate for turn around, but he graciously agreed to relieve me of another £60 at the bar to top off the £100 we spent on two entrées and two pizzas.
At this point they completely excelled themselves, wait for it dear reader.
It was my birthday! My wife, unbeknown to me sneaked in a cake and gave it to staff asking them to serve it at dessert, which you might have gathered we didn’t have.
Realising they had not served the cake, my wife slipped away and asked them to sort it; they did! A grumpy middle aged scruffy waiter shuffled over and quite literally “dropped” the birthday cake, still in its box and carrier bag, onto the bar in front of me saying “somebody wanted this” priceless!
Without sounding too out of touch or Old School, I would also just warn potential visitors that at six o’clock the music is a jazzy, acceptably loud background affair; by seven it’s literally screaming volume heavy metal bass beat thumping, presumably designed to make you eat faster and bugger off, the DJ in his little booth at the front of the place must be on some sort of bonus for how many feet per hour pass him on their way out.
Two redeeming aspects of the restaurant, the quality of the cocktails (at £16 a throw) and the engaging brilliance of the cocktail waiters who give the bar an amazing atmosphere and buzz; we’d go where they went, Billy the Bun can Bugger off.

Terrible place and I’d never go back

Terrible place and I’d never go back. We went on the Manchester opening night and they said come at 5 but it didn’t open until 6, leaving us outside in the freezing cold with no apology and then they took videos of us without our consent and posted on social media to make out people were queuing to get in. Once inside it’s all squashed so you are eating your pizza with the next table in your face plus all the electricity kept going off. No apology and when I emailed with feedback nobody bothered to reply,

Ordered a take away.

Ordered a take away.

Two of the three dishes were very good but one was very heavy on cream so was totally inedible to me. Cream was not not mentioned in the menu ingredients - if it had been I would not have ordered. Parmesan shavings were mentioned but not included on the dish we received. To me it was inedible with the heavy cream so was thrown away. I called the restaurant to discuss but the owner was totally unhelpful and even suggested that cream was mentioned in the menu when it was certainly not. Perhaps he will update it now but it wont matter to me as I shall never go there or order take away from there again.

L’Antica in High Barnet

We ate at this restaurant in High Barnet when it first opened . The food was fantastic ! I was so excited to go there with my son on my birthday . We arrived at 9.30pm , it was empty however there was staff cooking and a waitress . They said we could not eat in there as they had just cleaned up ? We was gobsmacked and we politely told them about the special occasion but they didn’t care .They encouraged us to purchase takeaway .
We was ready for a 5 course sit down feast !
Clearly they are doing so well that customer service no longer matters. We was very disappointed on June 10th but found a fantastic Persian restaurant in Hendon , The Senator 😀the service was a huge contrast to l’Antica. We had an amazing time !
