talks a good game

Had my 4 wheels done by Andy, looked good on the surface, gunmetal metallic grey, I was informed by him that the powder he uses didn't need lacquered, took his word because he's the expert apparently.
Forward to 4 weeks later, 2 of the wheels needed tyres, they were took to a tyre shop I always use, when the fitter sprayed the alloys with tar and glue remover to remove the glue from the wheel weights it melted the powder on the alloys instantly. I've never seen this happen and neither had any of the fitters in the tyre shop who use this spray day in day out.
I went online asked some experts, cobra customs being one, joined a few powdercoating forums and Facebook groups, the general consensus was that dark metallic greys and silvers should always be lacquered and the cleaner marked the wheels because they wernt finished correctly in the first place.

Went back to Andy to tey and tell him this, I was talked over and called bi polar and was told I was a problem child(I'm a 50 year old man) when I talked back. I sent him all the evidence I had about this color needing laqured, told him Cobra Customs said they needed lacquered to which he said why didn't you get him to do them then.

When taking the rear wheels off my car to take to the tyre shop there was holes in the powdercoat due to outgassing, imperfections, pitting and marks all over them, if the wheel was rubbed with a dry cloth the gunmetal colour turned darker and it couldn't be removed, was told by Andy there was nothing you can do about that.

So the tyre shop have took my alloys and sent them off to be redone by a professional shop who knows what they are doing as they have a good level of customer service.

The fitter who sprayed the cleaner has footed the bill, told Andy this and asked him if I could have some of my money back to pay the tyre shop, he just laughed.

Unprofessional, he talks a good game but if he makes a mistake hell refuse to admit it, even though all the evidence is there in front of him.
If you care about your wheels my advice is to take them to someone who knows what they are doing.
I'm £320 down and the tyre shop is down money because of his shoddy workmanship that he refuses to admit to.

worst experience ever.
