I had an excellent experience with Apex Driving School and especially with my instructor, Usman. I took four 2-hour manual driving lessons and successfully passed my practical test at Mitcham!

Usman is an amazing instructor — calm, clear, and very supportive throughout the process. His teaching style really boosted my confidence and helped me feel fully prepared for the test.

The school itself is very professional and responsive. Any queries I had were answered quickly and helpfully, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free.

Highly recommend both Usman and Apex Driving School to anyone preparing for their driving test!

He made the time for me and those final few days were crucial in helping me feel confident for the test, as well as Anas' positive and calm manner. From my very first lesson, Sarah seemed to know exactly where my skill level and confidence stood—and how to build on both, just enough, every single time. Right from day one, we jumped into three-point turns and tackled roundabouts, with Sarah always pushing me to improve and aim higher. She never settled for “good enough.” Instead, she set thoughtful, constructive challenges—tight parallel parking, navigating rush hour roundabouts, surprise detours, and winding country lanes—so that by the time test day arrived, real-world driving felt completely manageable.

What truly sets Sarah apart is the perfect blend of expertise and personality. She’s calm and reassuring when you need it most, hilariously funny when nerves creep in, and sharply insightful when breaking down manoeuvres to make them easier to master. Every correction came with an encouraging “You’ve got this,” and every success was met with genuine excitement, imaginary high fives, and plenty of laughs.

Sarah is kind, patient, and endlessly supportive. She believed in me from day one, long before I believed in myself, and I passed with zero faults because of her. More importantly, I now feel confident, prepared, and completely at ease behind the wheel.

If you’re looking for an instructor who teaches beyond the test, builds real-world confidence, and makes the whole journey fun and empowering, I can’t recommend Sarah highly enough.

Today was a truly memorable day, largely due to the exceptional instruction provided by Addy. I am extremely grateful for his expertise; my previous experience at a different driving school was significantly less effective. I passed my driving test today in automatic, first time! I had about 16 hours of lessons with Gary having had a previous bad experience with an instructor from another driving school. Gary is clear, calm, methodical and an excellent teacher! Would definitely recommend.

I passed my driving test first time thanks to Addy. He was very patient and supportive, and gave clear instructions and explantions to anything I would ask. Addy helped me build my confidence to be a good driver, and thanks to him I passed. If you’re in the Mitcham area I would highly recommend Addy.

Passed my driving test thanks to my great instructor Simon. Always professional and considerate of circumstances, learning how to drive was made easier with clear progression and felt very thorough with regular feedback from mock tests. Lessons had a calming environment as he was great at instructing from mistakes and making sure I was always learning from situations on the road. Couldn't recommend any higher and helps he was a good laugh too.

I recently passed my driving test with apex driving school, my driving instructor was David Nicholls he made me feel very comfortable on my lessons helping me understand what was safe to do in a car and what was not, I would highly recommend him to anyone that was looking to start learning to drive with Apex driving school

Just passed first time with help from Addy who has been my instructor for the past few months. The results speak for themselves and I can't recommend them enough. The vehicle was great to learn in and kept clean throughout. Addy was brilliant in regards to the teaching and also keeping me relaxed in the build up to the test.

Anas is a good instructor. He is patient. I am very happy that I passed the driving test today under his guidance.

My instructor Anas has been absolutely amazing. I came in an incredibly nervous driver and he helped put me at ease. He uses a combination of teaching as we’re driving and pulling to the side for more in depth explanations/ visual representations and drawings of mistakes I’ve made so I know exactly what to correct. I passed my test on the first try with his instruction!

Cheap but high quality driving lessons. Gary was excellent. In particular, they are very good at getting test swaps for free! Very important in an environment where tests are harder to come by and the scene is filled with instructors who will charge you for swaps
