We paid APP a lot of money for a damp survey. The guy was on site for less than an hour and was utterly inept. He failed to identify sources of water ingress which were later identified and evidenced by a different (more competent) company. APP failed to identify poorly maintained and/or designed drains, drainage channels and downpipes in contravention of the PCA Code of Practice. They failed to identify possible sources of water ingress in contravention of the British Standards Code of Practice. They failed to conduct a comprehensive survey, the scope of which was limited to certain areas only (stopping at internal stud walls!) APP failed to notice that the currently injected chemical DPC had been installed incorrectly (less than half way through the wall) and refused outrightly to comment on existing damp proofing work despite it being fundamental to diagnosing why we still had damp. Refused to answer follow up queries. This is not what we paid for.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! All the do is charge a ridiculous price for a survey that involves them walking around with a damp held damp meter. And then they recommended £8k of work. What makes them even more crooked is that more than half the recommended work had already been done and when questioned about the contents of the report, told deliberate lies!!

Companies like this give the damp-proofing industry a terrible name. They should not be allowed to operate and I'm referring them to trading standard authorities. Hopefully they will be forced to stop trading but in the meantime, make sure you have nothing to do with them!
