Unreliable.

If you want a job starting but not finishing, these are your guys. Over a month of calls and weekly promises from them to no avail. Existing customer with 2 year old system they fitted. Date is when I took the job to Gecko, who sorted the problem promptly and easily.

First Class Service

I have been a customer of Appollo for the last 15 years and recently my boiler broke down when the weather was very cold. Suffice to say the fault was somewhat complicated and required an examination of the house's internal pipework as well as repairs to the boiler itself.
The engineers from Appollo were totally committed, tidy and polite and remedied the problems so that my central heating works perfectly. May I take this opportunity of thanking, in particular, Paul and Craig for their assistance.

NEVER go for Appollo Gas Services- Unnecessary charges and worst customer experience

The Appollo Gas Service told me they charge £82.80 for Boiler service. I called them in as my boiler wasn't working. The engineer came and said the fan has stopped working. They asked me to make a payment of £82.80 immediately before they could look to replace it, which I did.

The next day, they gave me a quote of around £450 to replace the fan and said £82.80 will get deducted from the total amount when they replace the fan.

As the charge for fan replacement was high and my boiler was 18 years old, I decided to get the boiler replaced. I asked them and the other providers for boiler replacement quote.
Appollo quote was way higher than other prividers so I didn't go ahead with them.

When I called Appollo Gas service regarding the full service cost I paid (£82.80) to them and asked to deduct visit charge only (as there was no service done and visit lasted only 15 minutes), and return me the rest of money, they simply denied it and said that's our callout charge irrespective of service done or not.

I highly encourage anyone reading this review to avoid doing any business with Appollo Gas Service as they will charge you the highest price possible and rip you off. There customer service is pathetic, they don't pick up the call, don't call back especially when you have made payment.

Prompt and efficient service

They came out the next day, were prepared to repair my boiler and didn't push me towards a replacement but I decided it wasn't worth repairing. They were then able to fit a new boiler the next day.
Engineers were polite, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves.

Look elsewhere

Really unimpressed with this company and feel very ripped off. £82 call out fee to look at boiler. Told both the board and user control need replacing (and this is written on receipt).

When I said I would get the work done elsewhere, as their price was extortionate, they said couldn’t really be sure it was the board and wouldn’t be liable if it wasn’t – yet still charged the call-out fee for the diagnosis, despite having failed, by definition, to have diagnosed the fault in telling me they weren’t sure what it was (and given they were wrong, see below).

They quoted close to £400 (before deduction of the £82 I had already paid them) to install a part that costs less than £250 and takes less than an hour to fit. I know this because the work has now been done by someone else for nowhere near £400. Despite Appollo taking my money and “diagnosing” the need for replacement board and user display, it turns out there was actually nothing wrong with the user control. £80 call out is an absolute rip off, especially when you fail to diagnose anyway.

I made it clear when speaking to the company that I was not happy and felt I had been misled and charged for nothing, given the above, and they were not in the slightest bit interested.

There are significantly better companies out there – and certainly better value. Look elsewhere.

Hi , we are sorry that you are unhappy with our service. Our examination cost is £69+vat.The call out charge would have been deducted from the cost of the repair. We always quote for both boards as we find that its better to replace the boards as a pair as nine times out of ten, once one goes the other is not far behind . I'm sorry that you got the impression that we were not interested as this is far from the case. All our customers are of equal importance to us.
