Paid $50/tube for a set of new tubes…

Paid $50/tube for a set of new tubes for our seven lights in January, two had failed by April. These are used ten hours a day in air-conditioned rooms and are meant to last 12 months. Since then we have requested some sort of warranty from the pet store we bought them from...they refused and said to contact Arcadia.

Tried contacting Arcadia via Messenger...no reply.

Tried contacting Arcadia through their 'Contact' page...no reply.

Tried emailing their info line on the box the lights came in...no reply.

I would suggest that they don't care and if there was any meaningful alternative I would take it...but we have seven light fittings that cost $150 each.

Avoid, no aftersales or customer service

Bought fixture and lights. Less then 6 months ballast now gone on fixture, sent 4 emails not a single reply.
Zero customer service and no aftersales service at all. Not a cheap product, but regardless, does not last and if you have an issue don't expect any help. Now going to pursue them legally as a company can not sell products and not honour a warranty.
Expect a Letter before claim shortly now coming their way.

Avoid this company if you value any…

Avoid this company if you value any sort of customer service. Arcadia just dont respond to emails. Had to contact Monkfield Nutrition who owns Arcadia in the UK to try to get a resolution but they was not much better. Responding rarely to emails and when they did responded with irrelevant replies insinuating that the problem is user error rather than in adequate and faulty products.
I bought 4 Lumenize t5 uvb lights as I brumate alot of my reptiles. So thought the diming would benefit in reducing the daylight hours during winter.
Immediately after setting them up I noticed that the lights would randomly switch off and require resetting before they would come back on.
Also when the lights was diming sometimes they had terrible flicker rate that made it uncomfortable to look at the tank.
After a couple of days one of the units started making a buzzing sound and then proceeded to stop working all together.
During all this Arcadia did not bother replying to a single email. Eventually I had to make a claim through my credit card.
I've kept and bred reptiles for over 30 years and currently have over 25 reptile vivs which i replace the uv bulbs very regularly spending thousands of pounds.
Despite this Arcadia have no interest in responding to any emails and show no interest in the animals welfare. Over the years I've always recommended Arcadia to all new potential pet owners when I've sold my offspring.
Unfortunately im now never going to use Arcadia products again and will be advising all my fellow reptile keepers to avoid this company as well.
I'm sure this is a known issue with the new Lumenize products. But Arcadia should be pulling these from sale while they sort the issues out and the lack of customer service is just unacceptable while live animals are involved.

Arcadia UVB doesn't last 12 months as stated.

When I purchased the Arcadia T5 12% kit, it said the bulb would last 1 year. After about 8 months my bearded dragon was no longer interested in food and started getting sluggish. I didn't realize that it could be the bulb as everyone raved how wonderful they were. I wanted the best for my dragon so bought the best. I had changed her bulb when she started showing signs but must have been too late. She ended up dehydrated from not eating and suffered an impaction and partial prolapse. I took her to the vet for fluids, and they took blood from her tail, which resulted in her getting tail rot from the damage to her tail and it had to be amputated. All because I had faith that this UVB bulb didn't need to be changed every six months. I feel horrible. I just want to let whoever reads this know that you DO need to change this UVB every six months to be on the safe side. I don't want anyone else to go through what we just went through.

Abandon customers

My issue is that Arcadia launch products then abandon customers by not making replacement parts available. The 55 watt compact flood lamp 12% is an example. The tube is to be replaced after a year - but there are none to buy. So the whole thing, fancy electronics, reflector etc goes in the trash. This isn't a temporary non availability of replacement tubes. There have been none on sale in the UK for the past year. The two units I have sitting here will go to the electric gadget recycling. I've tried everywhere for replacement tubes and there are none. But the whole kit is still being marketed!

Beware of Lumenize products …

This review is regarding the new Lumenize products. I think everyone should be aware that the advertising is a bit misleading. If you want a perfect sunrise and sunset simulation you will only get this from the LED lights, the T5 units will not, under any circumstances dim gradually nor will they brighten from zero gradually, the T5 unit will come on at 100% intensity for a few seconds and then dim to what appears to be around 10% brightness. I replaced the T5 lights in 6 of my vivs at a very large cost after being told by an Arcadia dealer that this is what I need only to be told later by an Arcadia technical guy that the only way to get perfect graduation is to buy the LED units. Now, apart from not actually needing LED units as none of my snakes have live plants, this will cost me an extra £400 plus to do so. I may as well have just kept my original light units on the timer plugs as the Lumenize ones are basically just the same. I have messaged Arcadia but got no reply, asked the technical guy for someone's contact information but he never gave me that either. Absolutely useless company that's obviously out for profit over customer satisfaction and animal welfare. Would not recommend this product and will start using different manufacturers for any further products that I need.

NEVER AGAIN !I was once a firm and grateful user of…

I was once a firm and grateful user of all Arcadia products until recently. It pains me and saddens me to leave this review, but I have no choice.
This is regarding Arcadia 150w basking bulbs + Arcadia 12% 54w uvb tubes and fittings.
Firstly the 150w bulbs. I dont know if it was a bad batch, but I bought 4 as I have 2 vivs. Within 2months I noticed they were not going above 34c when initially they were at 40c with no issues. I hoped it had onky been at 34c a short time, so I replaced both. Then 2 ish months later I had the same issue. So I couldn't risk my dragons getting ill so I changed to exo terra and there still going strong and maintaining the temperatures.
2nd, I had a 39w uvb tube and fitting and I replaced the bulb and it just wouldn't work. I checked it wasn't the bulb and realised it was the unit, so I replaced it thinking nothing of it.
In my other viv I had a 54w uvb tube with a critically ill dragon. I replaced the bulb just last week, and as I turned the tube to light up there was a pop and a whisp of smoke. I was mortified. A new bulb costing £30 blown and the light fitting. Thankfully I had an electrician in the house due to having insulation done and he knew it was critical for my very poorly dragon to have a light on. He checked the unit which was plugged into a dimming day/night thermostat, he even opened the wire on the switch to see if it was that so he could fix it, but it was fine so he reconnected it. That's when he told me it was the transformer. I ran round borrowing money to try and get a new one so my dragon wouldn't suffer especially as she had a couple of night till her energency surgery. It cost me £69 for a new light fitting and tube, ontop of the £30 I had just paid for a brand new bulb. I was crushed. I have a vets bill for over £1000 and need every bit of spare cash. I contacted the place I bought it and they liased with Arcadia. They asked for a video so I gave it them and they said I voided the warranty. I. Ended the light working and I didn't expect a new rune to blow the fitting. So if I hadn't let the electrician open it I would have been left with out a light either way. He was trying to help my dragon.
They sent an email stating a bulb couldn't blow the light which is totally rubbish as I had this happen in the recent past. They didn't even offer my money back for the bulb. This has left me with £100 extra debt. £30 for the bulb that blew and £69 for a new fitting and tube. There was only 1 place near me that had one in. I am dissabled with a dissabled child with 2 dragons of which 1 is a rescue and fighting for her life. I am appaled and won't use them again.
Also people should know, they say the uvb tubes are guaranteed for 12 months, what they don't say is that at 6 months they start to seriously degrade. They do still give off uvb but not the amount required when bought. Beware of this. I was changing uvb tubes every 6.months on my pro T5s due to this. At 8 months 1 of my dragons hadn't eaten properly for 2 months. Her fecal was fine and everything else. Since replacing the tube at 8 months she's fine again.
Arcadia were once the best, now they have serious issues. I woukd have ignored the bulb issue, but after this and theor blatant lies stating a bulb can't blow a fitting and not offering even to refund the cost of the bulb, I will never use them again and I will make sure I tell everyone about this. My vets sell their uvb tubes and lights and is considering switching to a different make themselves and they are reptile specialists.
There customer service is just not what it should be either. Please think twice and three times before you buy there items. Its better to pay a little more for a better brand than go through this.

Ps Arcadia
My dragon died today 16th nov 23.

My opinion of the arcadia bulbs

I have a tortoise and I have bought a lot of different mercury bulbs through the years and I thought that I will try this Arcadia mercury bulb 100w fir the first time. It seems not to give off enough heat however, the heat from this 100w bulb is not too intense which might be a good thing too. I usually opt for the zoomed but for me it's getting far too expensive. This arcadia bulb I think needs to be a bit brighter. I am unsure if I would stick to this bulb though...sitting on the fence with this bulb.
Unsure what others think??

Large pricetag, short lifespan

Just over one year ago, the UVB lamp for our bearded dragon stopped working.
Our local "reptile specialist" recommended the Arcadia ProT5 lighting kit as the best option for us as a replacement so we purchased this unit.
Roll forward just a little over twelve months - the light started flashing when first switched on and eventually died. We purchased a replacement lamp but still no luck.

Unhappy with the lamp only lasting around two weeks beyond its warranty (and potentially being outlived by the lamp itself) I initially ordered a fitting from another company but also contacted Arcadia directly.

They got back to me promptly, giving some background about this product and offered a replacement unit out of courtesy.
For this, I was very grateful and immediately cancelled my order for the other unit.

Roll forwards to the present day, 13 days after forwarding my postal address. I had received no reply to my email and no lighting unit plus a sick reptile, probably from lack of UVB.
Again, I have ordered a fitting from elsewhere and emailed in a slightly less friendly tone, basically saying thanks for nothing.
Surprisingly I received a very prompt reply informing me that he is a man of his word, he will chase up why I have not received the lamp and twisting a little of the blame at myself for not chasing him up sooner.

My personal experience with Arcadia products in comparison to cheaper alternatives is that they are of poor quality, only lasting as long as their warranties. Considering how much this unit cost in comparison to the alternative options, and how much longer those cheaper units have lasted, I cannot recommend Arcadia UVB lights.
I would like to have had the opportunity to be proven wrong but after this experience, I doubt I will be purchasing Arcadia products again as I need to know that what I buy is worth the cost and more importantly, reliable for the well-being of my reptile.

Initially, I was impressed with the prompt and friendly customer service that I had received but unfortunately, as I am writing this while looking at a very unhappy reptile, I feel that this also fell short as I never received their very kind offer of a new unit.
