Failed delivery of an order

I placed an order for some items in advance of my son's archaeology dig using this site at his University's recommendation. I was notified that the order had been processed and the money was taken from my account the next day. Since then I have heard nothing and received no goods(more than 1 month). The phone is not answered when I have rung and my numerous emails have not been replied to. Surely this is tantamount to theft!

I have ordered from them twice and both…

I have ordered from them twice and both times was a complete shambles. Orders took near to 2 months to be delivered and only then because i chased multiple times. The order was packed awfully using second hand boxes that were broken when arrived. The equipment inside the box was not safely packed and the tool kit bags were broken meaning that all the tools were in a total mess inside the box.

Avoid!

Difficult to communicate with. Never answered emails, difficult to phone. They said the product had been sent the day before first class. It hadn't. It finally arrived after 2 weeks - too late for the dig - having been sent 2nd class small parcel. Avoid if you can help it - I wish I had seen reviews on Trustpilot before ordering.

Companies House says dissolved but owner says he is Sole Trader now!

I changed my review from 1 to 3 stars as I finally received my goods - apparently the company is now run as a sole trader. The way I contacted was through Facebook!
I am still concerned that the following is on Companies House website!

Avoid, avoid and avoid. Oh did I mention avoid?

If you want to be waiting weeks for even the smallest order (then receive the wrong item) with zero communication accepted or received from a 'company' run from a bedroom then this is the 'company' for you. Terrible service, I wish I had never ordered and you will too. Seriously. You were warned.

Terrible... just terrible. DO NOT ORDER FROM ARCHTOOLS

Placed an order with lots of lead time to receive it for my wife's birthday. No confirmation e-mail; followed up with several e-mails to both e-mail addresses but have never received a reply, and no goods have ever arrived. Council for British Archaeology was helpful, indicating that there had not been problems until recent complaints, but were unable to advocate on my behalf. Was unable to find contact e-mail for company directors. Our credit card was hijacked shortly after the purchase, and the bank is currently trying to figure out it Archtools was connected.

No package or feedback

I am very unhappy with the service. I placed an order 4 months ago and have yet to receive it. I have phoned and have been told that they will call back with an update but this has yet to happen; this calling all the time is frustrating especially if no one really cares to help. I want my package or a refund!

complete but very late delivery

The website has a great selection and price, however after ordering the problems started. No order confirmation was sent out. I then tried to email the company, but the website mail service didn't work. I then tried to email them using the email address stated on the site, but never got an answer.
Then I had a look at Trustpilot and was sure to have made a mistake. However, I wanted to give it a try before claiming a refund. After more than 5 weeks the waiting was rewarded with a complete delivery.
Conclusion: Quite alright if you have the nerve to wait.

USE ANY OTHER RETAILER IN THE WORLD BEFORE ORDERING FROM ARCHTOOLS

FIND ANY OTHER RETAILER IN THE WORLD BEFORE PURCHASING FROM THESE PEOPLE.

I ordered from Archtools in March 2016 and paid an additional 50% of the cost of my order on priority shipping. I still hadn't received my order three weeks later and had sent three separate communications through their website, but received no response from Archtools.

Finally I sent them a letter demanding the receipt of my order with in 14 days (I am in Australia, they are in the UK, I understand it takes some time to travel to the land down under). I stated that if I hadn't received my order within the 14 days I would be referring the matter to the Ombudsman.

Eight days later I finally heard from Archtools who wrote to ask me to confirm I had received my order which was shipped on the 14/08/2016. I wrote back and advised that I had not received it and questioned whether they were shipping it in August, four months in the future. I did not hear back.

My order arrived a day or two later. I am sure that my order was not posted until I mentioned referring the matter to the Ombudsman.

However, when my order did arrive, one item was missing. The invoice had a hand written "Refund" next to that item. If, as I assume they were trying to say and they shipped my item on 14/03/2016, then why have I not yet received my refund? I have written to them today demanding the refund within 48 hours or again, I will refer this matter to the Ombudsman.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.

If you have ordered from these people, I feel your pain. Write them an email stating what you ordered, when, how much you paid and include the following paragraph:

"I am now making time of the essence and request the order be delivered within XX days of receipt of this letter. Should you fail to do so, I will be requesting a full refund of all monies paid and referring this matter to the Ombudsman."

If you send that letter, I am sure that, like me, you will receive your order within 7-10 days. If you do not receive it in the time specified, contact the UK Consumer Ombudsman at www. consumer-ombudsman. org

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME BUYING FROM WWW. ARCHTOOLS. EU!

FEB 2016 Some problems with deliveries but directors are on the case

Like others who have recently ordered several items for this firm, I ordered items in January 2016 and received nothing. Emails recently went un-answered.

I contacted the Council for British Archaeology in this connection on 26th February 2016 and was immediately contacted by someone from the Council who reassured me that this company is reliable and reputable. Shortly after I was contacted by a director of the company and both directors are now on the case. I have had communications with them that have assured me that they are taking appropriate steps to address customer's concerns. They genuinely appear concerned to put matters right.

I write this on 1st March and will update this review as matters progress. I hope to be able to upgrade my star-rating

Sent Cheaper Tool Than Ordered/Paid For - No Customer Service Reply

Avoid the Archtools.eu company and website like the plague.

Try all of the other archaeological before you try Archtools.eu.

I ordered some tools from Archtools.eu before Christmas. They sent me a cheaper wooden handled version of a section trowel and not the more expensive rubberised version I ordered and paid for to match the archaeological trowel in the same order.

As I was an export order from outside the UK/European Union they also should have zero rated for VAT but instead they charged and pocketed the VAT on my whole order.

I emailed their customer service multiple times and never received any reply.

I hope you thieves get hit by the Karma bus.

Amateurs..

I can see that folk are very pleased with the products on offer from Archtools, but...if you're trying to buy Gift Card then they don't exist. Gift vouchers exist for you to print off, but you'll never receive the email that allows you to do this! In fact, they are the most frustrating people I've dealt with over these kind of purchases as they just never, ever respond to enquirers. I had bad experience last year which caused a heap of stress and vowed not to go through it again this year, but when I saw the option to have the vouchers sent through the post, I thought I'd go for it. When they didn't arrive, I rang them and was told "Oh we're not doing that, but I sent you the email to print." Nope, full searches done, emailed them to make sure she was sending to the right add....no reply, nothing. Gave her my neighbour's email add...nothing. Constant phone calls to them. Was assured they'd now gone in the post. Nothing. Five days later they arrived complete with post mark showing quite clearly that they'd not been posted when they were said to have been. I then had to walk in the wind and rain to get them into the last post before Christmas so my sister would have her present in time. I can well understand the frustration and anger of another Reviewer, but I prefer to outline the problems to give Archtools the opportunity to fix this once and for all.

AWFUL AND DISTRUSTFUL

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS WEBSITE UNLESS YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE MASOCHIST. I made email enquiries through their website before, during and after placing and order. I have called them (during reasonable UK hours) endless times, left messages, all at a cost of time and money to me. And only today, weeks after placing the initial order, did I FINALLY get someone on the other end of the line. And guess what, they are still waiting on the product, let alone getting it to me. I'll leave reviews elsewhere but DON'T buy from this 'company', it's neglectful to the point of fraudulence. They claimed to have contacted me, but they absolutely never have. I'd love to see a copy of anything they have sent to me, aside from the automated sale response. Absolute BS. They will make interest off your money, never respond to you, and then 'might' refund you - we'll see if that even happens....
