Brilliant service from start to finish

Brilliant service from start to finish. Needed some structural steels making. Nothing was too much trouble and the finished product was done very well, delivered exactly when requested, and done to very exact measurements. Great communication. Highly recommend.

Excellent service

Excellent service, expertise and product range from Arden Gates. Really pleased with my recent Warwick design aluminium driveway gates - powder coated in black. John was especially helpful on the sales and support team - an absolute credit to the company .

Arden Gate Automation - Well Impressed

Arden Gate Automation have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They installed my twin electric gates as well as the pedestrian gate, and the whole experience has been excellent. Arden gates designed ,supplied and fitted the gates at my property.

The team they sent, organized by David Young, were an absolute pleasure to have on site. They are clearly very knowledgeable and dedicated to what they do, taking great care to ensure the automation was perfectly integrated with the gates. It was obvious they really know their craft.

The installation has been completed to a very high standard, and I was especially impressed that they reinstated the block paving after fitting the motors so neatly—it looks as good as ever.

I’m extremely impressed with Arden Gate Automation. A great local company to deal with—professional, reliable, and skilled. I’ll be posting some pictures shortly!

The coating on the gates bubbled and did not clash together

I purchased four sets of gates from Arden Gates, one set now has bubbled paint and some of the powder coating has peeled off. Arden Gates director Guy Allwood refused to accept that the cause of the problem is because of cold weather but insists that they banged together. We had thick snow (at least four inches) before Christmas and several nights of severe frost. When the ice melted some of the powder coating peeled off and there were bubbles in other parts. The gates have a five year guarantee but Guy Allwood would not honour the guarantee and sent me a do it yourself kit consisting of a tin of paint that did not match, a set of paint brushes and a draft excluder. When I refused to do it myself and asked for my guarantee to be honoured I was sent a £1000 bill. Be aware that this company will take your money, offer a five year guarantee and when you need a repair under the guarantee you will receive a do it yourself kit or a substantial bill. There is no customer service from this company. Don't waste your money, I trusted them to honour the guarantee but it is not worth the paper it is written on. I put this review on Google Reviews but it has been taken down by Arden. All their reviews on Google are "wonderful". I would suggest that the true reviews are here on Trustpilot

I am replying to Arden Gates' response to my review. It is untrue that the photo I sent to Arden Gates showed the gates had banged together, there was a large piece of coating that had peeled off and another bubble had formed. The part where the bubbling had peeled off was not on the parts that touched the other gate. It's absolutely untrue that the gates had hit each other. I still have this photo but cannot find a way to upload it to Trustpilot.

I live in Crowborough the highest town in East Sussex, once marketed for tourist purposes as "Scotland in the South". When it snows the snow is extremely thick and normally does not melt for days. The coating on the gates was unable to cope with the extreme temperatures and the ice that formed on the gates, the gates were only five months old at the time.

I reported the problem to Arden Gates and expected them to deal with the problem under warranty. Their reply was unbelievably unhelpful and they ascertained that the bubbling was due to the gates hitting each other. If it was the case that the gates had hit each other they would have been scratched or dented but this would not have caused bubbling on the gates at places where they did not touch. Arden Gates' response was pay £1000 or we can send you a do it yourself kit. I refused to pay the £1000 as this was a warranty issue so they sent me a can of non-matching paint, a set of paint brushes and a piece of draft excluder. I spent £7000 on these gates and their response was an absolute disgrace.

I was very upset about the condition of my gates and arranged for a local firm, who knew the weather conditions we experience in Crowborough to respray the gates and I have experienced no further problems with them, so clearly their coating was better than Ardens.

I put a review on Google together with photos and just forgot about the whole terrible experience. I was then informed by Google that Arden had managed to get the review taken down. I was furious and do not know how Arden managed to get the review taken down but I then put the review on Trustpilot. It was only after I did this that Guy Allwood from Arden Gates offered to repair the gates for free.

Be aware that this company will not honour the warranty, they claimed that the bubbling was due to the gates not being installed properly - how can that be true. They complained that the gates were 120 miles away, this only became a problem when I asked for a warranty repair but not when they were charging £7000 for the gates. I have NEVER had such a nasty response from a company when I have made a claim under their warranty. If you don't want to have the same experience buy your gates from another company.

We do stand by our warranty, and with over 3,000 sets of gates installed across the UK, issues with the coating are very rare. On the few occasions we have seen problems, we have always honoured our five-year warranty where the coating has failed without any evidence of impact or scratching. Some of the first wets we made are now 13 years old and the coating is still looking good.

On this occasion I was sent photos of a chipped corner on one gate and another chip on the opposite gate where they had banged together during fitting or set up. Connie arranged her own installation.

The gates are now 3 years old and we have not been made aware of any further issues with corrosion, peeling or bubbling. I have sent a message to Connie and have offered to collect re coat and refit any gates that are showing signs of corrosion not associated impacts or chipping.

If there are any areas of corrosion or bubbling now or over the next 2 years there is a no quibble re coating and refitting service.

We use an epoxy powder undercoat on a pretreated surface and architectural grade UV stable PPC topcoat for the toughest finish possible, even so it is possible for gates to get chipped or scratched, if they did we also offer a subsidised re coating service. The £1000 Connie was referring to was to collect the gates form 120 miles, strip, re coat and reinstall. It sounds alot but there is 3 days work for 2 men in that process + Fuel and Shot and Powder coating. I was being as reasonable as possible.

Yours Sincerely,
Guy Allwood.

We recently used Arden Gates

We recently used Arden Gates, and John was invaluable. We had a faulty CAME Gate motor we bought 10 months previously, which was replaced under warranty at no cost. He did explain that it would take 2 weeks to process the replacement, and we received it within 10 days.

Complete shambles of a business

Complete shambles of a business, dealt with them for quite some time always been quite good, received the last gate ram off them early July had a fault with it 2 weeks after installing, consistently emailed and called to speak to John does not call back, constantly hiding behind some sort of virtual reception company, they have said we can see you've called a number of times. Found another company in Middlesex a lot more product knowledge and £100 cheaper on a £340 gate ram. Do not use this company.

I’m very sorry to hear about this. We did use a company to help with overflow calls and we did find this didn't work. All calls are now handled back in house and we now have 5 experienced members in the team to take calls 9am to 5pm.

We do have a price matching policy so would match any price for the same item for an item available in stock from another UK company,

Really disappointed

Really disappointed with Arden gates...we ordered our gates back in March only to find out eventually in August that our gates hadn't even been manufactured.

We got our money back, but we have wasted 6 months with them when we could have gone with a different company.

I’m afraid this order was during a very busy period, we give a lead time at the point of order and usually close to this. It can range from 2 weeks and up to 20 weeks at this time. In this case we lost a member of staff as well and the lead time extended to 24 weeks for this order. This is rare and most of our staff have all been with us for many years

We would always return any deposit immediately if the wait became too long, as we did with your order but I do understand the wasted time was frustrating .

We have now expanded our team of experienced fabricators and have our own in house coating and finishing plant to reduce waiting time.. As at March 2026 we have a 3 to 4 week lead time on deliveries for new orders.

Friendly helpful staff

Requested a replacement swing gate arm and received a quote back very quickly. I changed tack and approached again about a repair kit instead of a replacement. Again, very helpfully gave me to number of BFT to call and once I had confirmed the part number, they were able to process the order over the phone. There was a slight mix up (not their fault) and the part was delivered quickly asap. Overall, I'd be happy to recommend and will use again in future.
