The 'My Argos Card' app was head and shoulders above this argos pay app, they've made everything so much harder than it should. I've got an apple watch on a 6 month credit plan which I've only paid £1... See more

If I could give 0 stars I would.

If I could give 0 stars I would.
Firstly they have changed to payments every 25 days instead of every 28 days. This was not made ABSOLUTELY CLEAR in the change over from Argos card.

Secondly, The Argos Pay App is absolutely useless, you are supposed to be able to change your payment date but no matter what day I've tried to this, it's not allowing it meaning I have to spend time phoning up to speak to someone each time.
The people on the phone have such strong accents and for someone like me who struggles with deciphering language through accents or additional noise, it is impossible to understand what they are saying and incredibly upsetting and I've ended up in tears because I can neither tell if they understand my issue or if they do but I can't understand what they are trying to tell me.
Once I have paid off my balance I shall no longer be using Argos for anything.
Being expected to pay every 25 days rather than every calendar month is a terrible idea and not consumer friendly as most people only get paid 12 times a year not 13.
Can't even speak to a supervisor or make a complaint properly as they have to pass on the message and only if the customer service deems it worthy will they talk to you about it apparently.

Argos pay is the worst

Argos pay is the worst, they stealing money from you with insane rates! Buying an item of 300 and want u to pay 550 with interest! And don’t give u buy now pay later like it used to before! It was great before they upgrade. Or maybe say downgrade. Avoid at all cost they literally taking advantage from people even the mortgagee don’t have this type of rates! I will pay off what I have from previous purchases and never use this crap again!

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful, they changed to argos pay, messed all my Buy now Pay later, they tell you they automatically assign your money you pay to your BNPL that is due most recent, instead I made a large payment and they paid it off an installment plan id literally just purchased, and then left me with £800 worth of BNPL to still pay before November now, id saved that money to specifically pay the BNPL off and it paid it off the instalment plan, awful website, awful customer service staff, made a complaint and they didnt upheld it - safe to say i will no longer be using argos, most items come damaged, rhey miss items off delivery and then make you re purchase them, even if originally order was BNPL if they miss it - tough you now dont qualify for BNPL and have to purchase the missed item separately- shambles of a company!!!!

Discrimination case

Since switching to New Day, I’ve been unable to access my account. I’m a deaf individual and rely on emails, live chats, postal addresses etc. Newday only offer a phone number. I have contacted Argos to provide an alternative means of communication to resolve these issues but been advised New day are offering no alternative means of communications.

I’m therefore being penalised with extra charges with no alternative means to resolve the issues.

I’m now having to proceed with a case of discrimination as a result.

Argos Pay is truly awful

Argos Pay is truly awful. I am going to pay it off even though they have been putting on unfair charges and I am unable to access my account. I have difficulty speaking on the phone due to medical issues and in any case it seems almost impossible to speak with a human at New Day. I never experienced a problem before until New Day took over, They changed the payment date and so even though regular payments were being made they have evidently slapped on late payment charges created by them changing the payment date and on top of this made it impossible to access my account !

NEW ARGOS PAY SYSTEM IS FRUSTRATING AND USELESS

The new system Argos "Pay" is using is awful when compared to the original Argos Card.

The app is not very user friendly and it bugs out constantly and then when you actually go to pay off a balance they've gone backwards.

Previously you would just use your saved debit card in app to quickly select which plan to pay off or pay in chunks if your financial situation demands it.

Click pay and boom done. Full amount or custom for the selected plan or plans you have.

Now logging in is a nightmare then you have to go to a seperate web page to pay, then select your bank then it takes you to another page that asks you to log into your online banking but not via the app you go via a webpage in browser, then go into the mobile banking app, log into that then request a OTP to verify your log in to then type in your OTP into the online banking page on the browser. (despite argos being saved as a "trusted payee".

Then select which account you want to transfer to funds from, you are then redirected back to the first page then told to go to the argos app.

Why is it so challenging and god forbid someone has not signed up for mobile banking then you litterally cannot pay the balance, its insane.

Your basically bank tranfersferring to Argos through multiple hoops to accomplish the same thing you would have with the old system but takes 5 times as long and a hell of a lot more frustrating.

Needs changing back to the original system asap because I myself will no longer be using it.

Since changing to Argos pay I have been unable to buy anything. I have decided to buy elsewhere. Argos must be losing heaps of customers since the change due to the terrible app and customer service that doesn’t even understand their own system

I wouldnt even give it 1 star if I had a choice.
I loved my argos card up until the new pay scheme but find it impossible to pay my bnpl account. I will be paying this via phone and ditching the argos card.
I have tries to pay the full amount numerous times on my phone but once they send the otp code the app dissappears saying something went wrong.
I will not be paying extra fees come august if I dont resolve this. Not from want of trying.

Avoid Argos pay at all cost

Avoid Argos pay at all cost, no option to pay off individual payment plans. Good luck with trying to speak to someone, a disaster upgrade from a good system that worked well before.

If I could give no stars

If I could give no stars, I would. Argos pay is an absolute pain. 1. Cannot log in.
2. Had to go on Argos website to pay.
3. Attempted several times, so now have probably paid several times.
4. Had to go through banking app, which was also a pain and time consuming, taken me nearly an hour to sort out.
5. Will NOT be shopping with Argos again, they should have left it as it was.

Challenging to navigate

Since moving to the new system I have found navigating the payments challenging. I can not pay the parts I would like to and today I have accidentally paid the full balance which wasnt even due for 11 months and meant to pay a smaller amount 🤦🏻‍♀️. This was always my go to card for purchases but may have to look else where unless it becomes easier again.
Argos itself is great just the ArgosPay is shocking

Do not recommend!!!

After the change to new day the argos card app is bad. You can't pay as before in seconds, they charging very high interest, for example - I have paid 100 pounds, they charged interest 46. Before I had no interest to pay for 12 months if repaid in full in time. I had NO notification that I will have that high interest. I had no notification that the date of payment will change, I always paid in 1st of month.
This change is not good move for Argos, they will lose a lot of customers. I will try to find legal information about all this situation and will take legal actions!!!
I have purchased last thing with the meaning to repay in 12 months with no interest. The first payment was paid to old Argos card and was taken in full as a payment. The second one 100-46 interest. I believe it's a fraud. They've had to give to customers with old credits, to repay everything in full and to charge interest those who will purchase from the new day. Of cause after proper explanation of the interests. I do not recommend any of credit cards of New day! They always charging very high interest. And unfortunately Argos will lose another one customer here.

Stay away from the new argos BNPL an…

Stay away from the new argos BNPL an absolute greedy thieving bunch.
My first mistake was moving house and buying everything we need on the argos card to the tune of £3000 with the idea that once the house is sold we could clear the balance well within the 12 months.

They split 1 single transactions into 3 separate purchases.

In the midst of the chaos that comes with moving a large family of completely forgotten to pay my minimum. Just shy of £15.
They cancelled the bnpl and will now charge the full amount of interest at over 30%
I paid once my bill once I'd realised my mistake and paid the following month as well.

Customer service was useless, and slow. Over an hour talking to a halfwit I'm now to pay full interest on a purchase we can't afford. We needed to sell the house to pay it all off.

Leaving us now in financial uncertainty.

After 10 years of using our argos card loyally. I am absolutely disgusted. I will never use this ever again. So very disappointed 😞

Argos Pay lied about what they offer…

All letters sent out about the change from Argos to Argos Pay stated they offered the same. Using Argos for a lot of years I decided to move with the change and now they have blocked my buy now pay later with no reasoning as my payments are upto date I used this recently and my only calculation is so they can receive interest on top of my payments. BUY NOW, PAY LATER, INTEREST FREE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. WHO SAID THERE WILL BE NO CHANGES. YET ANOTHER COMPANY MAKING EXCUSES FOR NOT ABIDING BY THERE CONTRACT

Where do you start with Argos Pay

Where do you start with Argos Pay, I have a BNPL plan which ends July 26, it only has a balance of £11.45 twice now I have paid that amount and twice they have taken it off my normal credit, it states the payment is taken off the account with the highest bearing interest part of any monies owed, on July 26 the BNPL will incur 6 months interest, they are not doing what they say, I want the ability to pay monies off of what I want not off what they want. When I bought the items I opened the plan with Argos so it's not on that they just shrug their shoulders and declare it's nothing to do with them it's very much something to do with them. Argos pay by New Day is a disaster.
