AVOID!!!

AVOID!!!! If he has your car, get it out of his hands ASAP!!
i am left with a car WHICH IS NOT FIXED , Over £2100 pound down and with malicious damages (detached bonnet cable, so i cannot open the bonnet & 2 locking wheel nuts on 2 tyres, so if the tyres go, they cannot be changed!)

Took my Land Rover to this garage after his website advises 'LR Specialist' .. well he is NOT. The man Wayne Papworth is NOT even a mechanic!!

Spoken to over 25 people who have had the same similar situation as myself. (MAKING WORK UP THAT NEEDS DOING AND DOESNT. THEN CHARGING TRIPLE/ QUADRUPLE PRICE OF ANOTHER GARAGE!!)
- Wayne Papworth and his Employee Karen Burgess Befriend you, like they are doing you a favour.
- Decides to do work without approval, received a quote after having to demand a quote (i.e 15th Aug got quote from Karen, then i rang to appeal it and Wayne advsied work ALREADY DONE !! )
- Went to the garage, as they don't answer the phone after know we have questioned it.
- Had us over a barrel for the money, messages stating wanted cash, got there with cash and he said 'actually wants in Bank transfer'm
- Asked for Part numbers so we could obtain manufacturers warranty, HE REFUSED!
- Asked for a written Warranty for work HE REFUSED!!
- Took the car and within 20 minute we returned AS CAR WAS NOT FIXED!!
- He was abrupt, tried bully tactics and refused any liability . EVEN THOUGH SAME PROBLEM WENT IN WITH.
- Left as we did not trust a single lie that came out of his mouth.
- Had a independent report same day, HE CHARGED US AND DID UNESSARY WORK - NOT NEEDED WORK! and charged us triple what it should.
- A legnthy court battle ahead, spoken to over 25 people who have had the same issues and he likes to use bully tactics.

*Urging anyone to come forward for the case with trading standards against this CON MAN, BULLY, COWBOY! *

Not everything detailed due to the complete overwhelm of this and the stress Wayne Papworth and Karen Burgess have caused.

AVOID!!* (at all costs!)

AVOID!!* (at all costs!)
Wayne Befriends you, like he's doing you a favour, then asks 'hotspot' questions (as he tells his staff!) to gage your urgency, vulnerability and financial situation if possible.

Then Goes over board on costing to the point of TRIPLE what an other garage charges you. Same treats you like doing a favour.

As you go away with quote, to think about the huge amount in the thousands... THEY DO the work .. with NO CONSENT.

Then they sit and wait till you pay or Wayne offer you as a 'favour' to pag a small amount cash for the car!! Uses the 'can you not afford it line'

Elderly couple, not only struggling with the cost of living but the stress of this.

Took to another garage after getting car back and all the work paid for it didn't even need!!

AVOID THIS CON-MAN , Who isn't even a mechanic and last business was a car wash!
Wayne Papworth look up on companies house.

***AVOID AT ALL COST***

***AVOID AT ALL COST***

I want to share my experience with ART Garage to warn others and prevent them from falling victim to the same issues. I took my car there because it was showing a timing chain fault code. Wayne, the mechanic, assured me that he would diagnose the problem and provide a quote for the necessary repairs.

The initial quote I received was £1719.96 (including VAT), but my warranty company declined the claim, stating that the timing chain was nearing the end of its lifespan but not fully broken. Confused and disappointed, I relayed this information to Wayne. He suggested that the timing chain might be a recalled part and contacted MINI UK for clarification. Unfortunately, weeks went by without any updates, and my attempts to get information were met with silence or excuses. I had to initiate contact as when I was told I would get a call back it would be days or sometimes weeks before I would have to call again, Wayne was always Busy and did not like to speak on the phone.

Frustrated, I contacted MINI directly and learned that my car had no outstanding recalls. Wayne then provided videos of the damaged timing chain, which I forwarded to the warranty company. They approved a quote of £630.00 for the repair, in line with industry standards. However, Wayne’s original quote was significantly higher—£1089.00 more expensive.

Feeling taken advantage of, I sought another quote from a local garage, which came in at £660.00 plus VAT for parts and labour. I informed Wayne that I would have the work done elsewhere and requested my car be reassembled for transport. His response was abrupt: £180.00 for reassembly plus £270.00 for diagnosis. Outrageously overpriced! He didn't want to assemble my car and wanted me to take it away in bits but i called and voiced my thoughts to say why would anyone want to take a car away in bits after you have taken it apart.. the least I would expect is it to be back to how I brought it to ART.

Upon collecting my car, I discovered that Wayne had left everything loose, including air lines and fuel pipes, the head had bolts missing and injectors were not connected, The new garage was shocked by this unprofessional behaviour. In hindsight, I should have researched ART Garage more thoroughly. Wayne’s lack of integrity and extortionate prices make him a true cowboy in the industry. I’m relieved my car is now out of ART Garage in the hands of a professional, fairly priced garage. My car was with ART for 7 Weeks and this was the outcome AVOID THIS COWBOY AND SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

AVOID AVOID AVOID

When the red warning light blinked on my Jaguar’s dashboard, I turned to Art Garage—a self-proclaimed Jaguar/Land Rover specialist. Little did I know that this decision would lead to a frustrating and costly ordeal.

Art Garage swiftly took my car, replaced the oil filter, and then dropped the bombshell: my engine was irreparably damaged due to low oil levels. Shockingly, they arrived at this conclusion without conducting essential diagnostic tests. The hefty £400 bill for an oil filter change and a computer hookup left me flabbergasted.

Wayne, the owner, confidently declared that my car needed a new engine—a remanufactured one that would set me back nearly £10,000. But was this diagnosis accurate? Or was it a costly misstep?

Determined to find answers, I sought a second opinion from an authorised Jaguar dealership. Their thorough testing—compression checks, piston examinations, and more—revealed a different story. The engine was in pristine condition, with no signs of damage. Even the startup noise, which had alarmed Art Garage, turned out to be perfectly normal for a 3-litre diesel engine.

In hindsight, Art Garage’s negligence and lack of proper diagnostics were glaring. Choosing competence over arrogance, I’ve since driven my car nearly 9,500 miles without a hitch. The lesson? Seek professionals who prioritise accuracy over profit margins.

Art Garage’s owner may talk the talk, but actions matter more than words. As for me, I’ll stick with those who truly understand their craft—the ones who saved me from needlessly shelling out thousands for an unnecessary engine replacement. AVOID.
