Very poor quality and customer service

My local land rover specialist had to remove the refurbished transmission twice within a year dur to poor quality refurb, I ended up many hundreds of pounds worse off, and they didnt even extend the warrantly from the last time they had it back, cheapskates I would never use again or recommend

Fantastic as always!

One very happy customer for the second time 😁. Ashcroft don't only supply the best refurbished transmissions and accessories in the world, their customer service is also something special. With a small window and tight timelines I can't thank Caroline enough for pulling out all the stops to ensure we got our gearbox on time preventing a holiday disaster.

I have used Ashcroft for a number of…

I have used Ashcroft for a number of years from Auto boxes to air lockers. They have always been helpful and friendly on the phone.

I had a couple of small issues which they sorted out without any worries at all.

I have spoken to Dave a couple of times for advice and he takes the calls or phones back.

5 Stars you don’t get many companies as good as these nowadays.

Buyers beware, impossible to get more than surface level information about transmission rebuilds

Buyers beware (especially those outside the UK). I was trying to purchase a LT230 rebuild kit and upgraded transmission components for my NAS '95 Land Rover Discovery 1. I wanted to purchase just the components for the stage 1 and 2 transmission upgrade kits as described on their ZF 4HP22 transmission page so a local transmission shop in the US could do the work with warranty (Ashcroft's warranty is only valid if you sent transmission back to their UK facility). I was hoping to get some consultation both about whether the upgraded parts were necessary for my application and whether I should just purchase the rebuilt transmission directly from Ashcroft with the stage upgrades install and basically forgo any warranty. I was prepared to spend thousands of pounds on parts and possibly a complete rebuilt transmission. However, since I was a foreign buyer and this was my first time rebuilding a ZF transmission, I was hoping to speak to someone directly who could advise me what my options were and suggested course of action. Every single time I called Ashcroft I was told I need to speak to Dave the owner directly. I could only reach Dave via email and understandably, he is a very busy man. He would only send back a two or three sentence email every week or so. Despite calling and asking for a follow up, I was advised to just send him a new email with "Urgent" in the subject line. I followed the instructions and his replies quickened up to every two days or so. I became very frustrated both with the slow reply and the lack of detail in his responses even thought I did my best to ask very specific, targeted questions. After nearly three weeks of not getting anywhere, I finally sent him an email asking him to improve his service. He got back to me with another brief email, "Sorry Sam, We are not able to supply". Despite trying to give Dave plenty of leeway as a business owner, it seems I was an annoyance rather than a customer. This was the worst service I have received from any vendor during the two years it has taken me to fix up my Disco.

Delivery of gearbox was very quick ,great customer back up

Delivery of gearbox was very quick
Had it fitted at the garage only to find I still had a growling noise on acceleration 3rd 4th 5th
Spoke to David Ashcroft who was extremely helpful regarding this he spoke to the garage on my behalf that fitted it ,being that I am not a mechanic
He advised me that it sounded as if the noise was probably coming from the transfer box on the Defender
Another transfer box has now been fitted and all is good ,so spot on with the diagnosis

Faultless Customer Service

Really good customer service from order until delivery. Communication was great! Very well estimated order completion time and very easy transaction despite the COVID lockdown. Would definitely recommend service and would use again. Thanks

Superb service

Superb service, help and advice, did everything they promised, the women on the phone and email were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. My old p38 feels like a new car.
