If I could give them 0 stars I would

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Oakwood Theme Park use to be the one of the best Theme parks in the UK. This company brought it and did nothing apart from running it into the ground. You spent about 1.5 million a year with no new rides and little work done to the place. It was this company that killed Oakwood park. By far the worse company out there

One disgraceful company and three reasons NOT to visit Mallorca.

We went to Aqualand, Mallorca on 30th July 2018 with my wife and children (age 4 and 7) and it was the worst day of any holiday ever.
You’re probably thinking, how could a park this bad possibly stay open? Surely people would go elsewhere? It is because all three water parks on Mallorca (Aqualand, Western and Marineland) are all owned by the same parent company, Aspro. They seem to have a monopoly, so as there is no real competition, they can charge what they like and get away with appalling standards and disgraceful tactics.

If you’ve also had a terrible experience at Aqualand whilst on a package holiday, I strongly suggest you complain to your rep and most importantly follow it up with an email to your tour operator on your return. If companies like TUI and Thomas Cook are prepared to advertise and promote this place they are (at best) guilty of deception, and you should review them accordingly.

Expect to pay eye watering prices for food, drink, parking, lockers, sunbeds, then queue for more than an HOUR to go down practically any slide (none of which are particularly good). My son sat on the edge of a sunbed for 2 minutes just to eat a banana when a member of staff came straight over and asked us to pay. We just walked off. Later in the day I asked someone at a food outlet if they could fill my child’s water bottle and was told to fill it myself from the shower! They are horrible.
On some rides the staff and management are deliberately causing excessive queues by limiting the number of rings / mats available for regular customers, which I suspect is to force people to buy the additional “fast pass” out of desperation. You aren’t allowed to wear a T-Shirt, even on rides where you are just lying on a mat (and not in contact with the slide). The age and height restrictions have no relation to safety, as children of ANY age and height are permitted to use a slide unaccompanied which exits into 1.5m deep water, yet on other rides there are height restrictions which are just ridiculous. There are also numerous places which are treacherously slippery, even when walking slowly. Many of their rules have no basis in safety, or indeed common sense, and some rules are bordering on dangerous.

Incompetent and lazy “lifeguards” are constantly blowing their whistle at anyone who dares step in a pool whilst wearing sunglasses. Even if you’re just standing in knee deep water whilst supervising your children they go crazy. They are also total hypocrites as they ignore these rules themselves. As a result, they are constantly arguing with angry visitors which means they aren’t even doing their job!!! I observed several quite dangerous situations which went completely unnoticed as the lifeguards weren’t paying any attention to what is going on. It would seem that many of them can’t have been trained properly, as their priorities are seriously out of order and their judgement is very poor.

There is one lot of slides for younger children (under 1.5 metres), and this is also terribly managed. The lifeguards at the top were just sat there chatting whilst everyone is waiting unnecessarily. Half the time they’re not even watching the children, and they don’t seem to care. Two of the slides go over a hump where lots of children get stuck. Because they aren’t paying attention they don’t notice and eventually the child (or parent) gets distressed. If you then try to help your own child they will shout at you which is disgraceful considering they can’t be bothered.
If you’ve already booked to go here, I strongly suggest you try and get a refund. If you were considering going here, then well done for doing your research – I wish I’d read the reviews first as it would have saved me a lot of money, stress and a wasted day of our holiday!
