Oversold and Underdelivered

I paid $20,000 for a custom website build for my dental practice. What was delivered failed on nearly every measurable standard. I hired August Strategy and trusted them fully to deliver what was promised. The mobile performance score was 59/100 on a simple brochure site, which is well below Google's passing score of 90+. Google Analytics was installed but never properly configured, which means that not a single conversion event (form submissions, phone clicks, consultation requests) was tracked for an entire year. A year of patient lead data is just gone. The sitemap was malformed, there was no schema markup, security headers were missing, and the site had missing accessibility features that were all included in the original scope of work.

None of this was caught or disclosed. It took hiring a third-party auditor to uncover what should have been standard deliverables on a $20,000 contract. When these issues were raised formally, a partial refund request for the year of missing deliverables was denied. I would not use or trust this company to build a functioning or performing website – because even if they build something beautiful, they won’t tell you what’s missing.
