A shamefull bunch

A shamefull bunch. I know they have bad reviews, but hey the location is good, and it's just a flat tire so what could go wrong. But they managed to break the gear switching mechanism while moving the car around. And since they don't give a damn about their reputation, there is no way to hold them accountable. So even for something small - think twice before going there.

Excellent and speedy service

Excellent service (quick change of winter tyres for summer, change of defective light bulb) at very reasonable price. Very friendly and efficient reception (Lucas was perfect).

Terrible after sales service.

Terrible after sales service.
You cannot reach anyone nor by mail (do not respond) nor by chat (do not respond) and there is no telephone where you can call.
Don't pay upfront for any deliveries at home, if the delivered product is not ok you cannot complain or get your money back

My car didn't stard when i want to…

My car didn't stard when i want to leave from Auto5(17.October 2024). They check the car, they said is the demarreur, i agree to change the demarreur.
After i took the car home, i drive only 20 km, i stoped at control tehnique 2 days later and there the car died again.
And now they don't want to see my car, they say that is the battery, or cables on the phone without checking and that i have to go at Chevrolet garage.
They don't care if the care is good or not, they only took the money for the part they changed and that it. Shame.
I paid 650 euros for part and work time and nothing.
Don't go to Auto 5.

Stop shopping in Drogenbos

Like other people, I have also had bad experiences with auto5 Drogenbos. Workers are anti-client. They don't care if a client is there or not. It is always YOU who must look forward to finding a worker. I was there some days before. One was at the desk and 4 or 5 others were talking and laughing somewhere else. I walked around for about 15 minutes, showing that I was in a Harry, but none of them came to me. It is always so. I don't like auto5 and will not go there anymore.

Please stay away from the Auto5 in…

Please stay away from the Auto5 in Auderghem. I went there on the 20th of October for a CT pre-control. This is a gimmick to extort money as they do not perform all the necessary checks. The proof is in the fact that yesterday I went to the Nivelles CT and they told me that my headlights were not within the acceptable limits. Also the manager told me that my distribution belt had to be changed. He lied to me because my garage had just changed it

Dont go there

Dont go there. Terrible service, no guarantee at all. They installed a rear mirror, it fell off because badly clipped, and they refused any responsibility.

Service 5 sur 5

Service 5 of 5, excellent experience with 2 teams in Belgium: Waterloo and Gosselies. I had an urgent situation with my son’s car, needed a service within 72 hours. The Waterloo team was totally booked and couldn't help us, but they went out of the way to find another Auto 5 who could help us: Gosselies. The Gosselies team was wonderful, the car is perfectly fixed. Thank you Auto5.

Decent service

Big stock, fast and polite service.

If something is wrong with your order / you need more specific information after a purchase you do have to push the salespeople a bit before they actually help you (as they tried sending me away without really helping at first), sad to see after placing a 5 star review but at least I'm now able to provide a more accurate review.

They sold me a stick to patch up a scratch, came back to complain the color didn't match. Employee told me you literally couldn't fix the scratch with a pen and didn't give me a refund on the pen as it was opened.

Hallo vandaag om 16.00 uur was ik bij uw auto 5 in Zwijndrecht om mijn band te vervangen omdat ik niet met de auto kon rijden omdat ik mijn vrouw en 5 dagen oude dochter bij me had en de band snel moest vervangen. Het lid van het personeel dat mij bediende was erg onbeleefd en onbeleefd en had een zeer grote ruzie met mij in het midden vertelde ze me terug te gaan naar waar ik vandaan kom vind ik deze zeer onbeleefde en onprofessionele en zeer slechte klantenservice en als persoon dat werkt ook in de klantenservice. Hello today at 4pm I was at your auto 5 in zwijndrecht to change my tire as could not drive the car as I had my wife and 5 day old daughter with me and needed the tire changes urgently. The member of staff that served me was very rude and impolite and had a very big argument with me in the middle she told me to go back to where I come from I find this very rude and unprofessional and very bad customer service and as a person that also works in the customer service industry I find this very unacceptable. I would avoid this company.

I would avoid this company.

It is consistently the cheapest on the comparison sites, but behind that it has the largest excesses and the cost of removing that excess is much the same as the rental cost (and you only find this out when yu pick up the car

In our case, the excess was 2000 Sterling (you have to look carefully at the rental details as the excess is not usually displayed clearly in the comparison sites) I had not noticed the amount (OK, my fault). I and I suspect most people would feel uneasy about taking the risk of having to claim back from car hire excess insurance cover, so I ended up having to pay a huge amount, approximately the same again as the rental, to reduce the excess. You only learn of the amount at the pick up point.

Assume therefore approximately double the quoted rate for the actual hire with a reduced excess unless you are willing to take the risk should you damage the car.

This is little short of a scam.

In addition the company had a very small pickup minibus at the airport, only sufficient for the car drivers themselves, and iitially wanted us to leave our passengers at the airport and return under our own navigation (in pitch dark from an unknown pickup point) to collect them at the airport.

Also, with around six hires from our flight there was one person processing rentals at the pickup point. I was No. 2 in the queue and it took me about an hour from arrival hall to actually getting the keys so I suspect driver No 6 would have had to wait a minimum of 2 hours.

The car itself had done 160K kilometers and did work OK although the gearbox seemed pretty tired. I would guess a petrol car at 160K is likely to nearing end of its reliable running life

I would really strongly suggest avoiding this company and checking the terms and conditions of slightly more expensive rentals which mostly have reasonable insurance policy excesses of around 500 euros. I would be happy to risk leaving that size of amount to my rental excess insurance policy should I ever need to claim.

The company does not have a good review score on the comparison sites, and I expect there are good reasons for this

For those not experienced with car rental, note the difference between excess insurance (which you can buy cheaply on line, or pay more through the comparison site, which tries very hard to sell you it) and a reduced excess.
With insurance you pay the amount up to the excess limit, and then need to claim it back from the company. I have an annual policy with insurance4carhire.com, which was absolutely excellent on the one occasion I have claimed Paying more to reduce or remove the excess means that the amount you are liable for is reduced or negated but at a cost.
I take the view that I am prepared to risk having an insurance reclaim of up to around 500 euros is worth doing, but not an amount of 2000 sterling.

To add insult to injury the lady on the desk was the rudest I have come accorss
