DO NOT purchase subwoofers and/or amps…

DO NOT purchase subwoofers and/or amps from this company. They claim to have knowledgeable, educated staff but clearly they do not. And management simply don't care regardless of pointing out Australian Consumer Law quotes from their website. The staff recommend products that you put your trust and faith in to be compatible and when they turn out not to be, they lie and say they didn't recommend the products and therefore it's not their problem. You would be better off playing russian roulette on the internet. Or just light your money on fire. Less painful.
Wish I had seen all of the terrible reviews before wasting so much time and money.

Autobarn advertised a price match…

Autobarn advertise a price match guarantee however I was denied the service by a franchisee on the basis that they have the right to pick and choose what they do.
This is clearly misleading and terrible business practice, Furthermore I advise everyone to avoid the Clayton Victoria store due to draft being extremelny .

I went in to buy a shield for my windscreen in the Rockhampton store the young girl whose name was Kelsey served me. I was staggered at her exceptional service and knowledge of the products. Kelsey went over and above with her service she even came out to my car to make sure it was the perfect size and I ended up buying seat covers as well. Well done Auto Barn and extremely well done Kelsey!!! You my dear are an asset to the business you deserve a pay rise.

They said when you go earlier they can…

They said when you go earlier they can install it if there were no one earlier, but when you go it said it can’t, you can drop the car and they will do as the appointment or whenever they are available. I rescheduled mind twice, it was really inconvenient.
Bad service!

I have to fix their problem at my expense?

Bought a spanner set. It was supposed to come with a range of sizes, including an 8mm and a 10 mm. When I got back home [100km round trip from store] I discovered the set I was sold came with 2x10mm spanners and no 8mm! The sales person failed to do his due diligence and properly check what he recommended I purchase. When I phoned the store the sales person said "don't use it; bring it back and we will replace the entire set". When I told them it was a 100km round trip they offered no other solution. So, I have to spend a few hours of my valuable time, and pay for petrol while I can't use the tools I paid for just to get the product they failed to ensure I was supposed to get?! I emailed headquarters and they said they would get the store to contact me, but this has not happened. I emailed headquarters again and no response so far. A single 8mm spanner will cost me about $11. I wonder if I should just send back one of the 10mm spanners and ask them to send me the 8mm one they failed to give me in the first place and also ask to be reimbursed the cost of postage?

Installed wrong equipment! Broke my dash! And told to take my vehicle and F***k off!

Wanted to purchase a head unit and speakers for Mercedes Sprinter van. Advised store manager that I specifically did not want a unit with a trim kit, was advised that the Aerpro head units were made specifically for the Sprinter and therefore did not require a trim kit. The speakers that were recommended to me that I purchased were a set of four speakers, two door speakers and two tweeters for the dash board. The speakers were in stock so I purchased them, however the head unit had to be ordered into store. I also booked for Autobarn Hervey to install both the speakers and the head unit. After a couple of weeks I received a call notifying me that the head unit had arrived. I dropped my van along with the speakers that I had purchased into the store so that the equipment could be installed. On arriving to collect my van, I was informed that there had been a couple of issues regarding my installation, the speakers that I had purchased had not been fitted, but a decision had been made to swap them for a pair of door speakers only, and not fit the tweeters into the dash. I was also informed that my dash had been broken during the installation process but had been glued back together. I asked why I had not been contacted and given the opportunity to make a decision on whether I wanted to go ahead with the installation or be reimbursed. I was told by the store manager that he had made the decision to swap my purchased equipment out on my behalf. I felt very awkward as the equipment had already been installed and felt compelled to accept compensation by way of free fitting although I was not happy that I did not get what I had purchased. I was also told that the store would reimburse me for the cost of the replacement dash part. I left the store very unhappy and completely disgruntled. After leaving the store I noticed that my dash was not seating as it should, and the the trim around the head unit had a noticeable bow in the top of it. I returned to the store with my van but the Manager had left for the day, I showed another member of staff the issues so he could convey my concerns to the manager the following day. The following day I received a call from the installation technician who booked me in on Tuesday of the following week to swap out the unit for another one. After dropping my van off and leaving it for 30 minutes I received a text message in informing me that my van was ready for collection. Upon arriving at the store I was handed my keys and the message all done. On returning to my vehicle I noticed that the same fault was evident and in fact the head unit had not been replaced as stated. I returned immediately to speak to the installation technician who did look happy to see me, I tried to explain that the fault was still evident, he took my keys a made his way to my van stating he didn’t want to hear it. As he got into my van he shouted for f***ks sake, my wife was pretty upset at this point. I pointed out the bow in the trim on the head unit unit, it was at the point that he got out of the van and shouted take your vehicle and f off, I asked what did you say? And he again replied take your vehicle and F off!

Extra cost to order parts.

Needed rear brake pads for my BMW, however because they aren't in stock in Bundaberg they want $25 shipping to send them to here. Everything you buy there if it's not in stock shipping is extra. So, they must make daily a pile of money just off the shipping, let alone the mark up. Supercheap have ordered the parts in, no cost for shipping.

Some bad reviews I see

Some bad reviews I see, well that's not surprising at all.Faulty battery charger boiled my deep cycle batteries f____d them and no form of compensation and was told (LIED TO) there was nothing wrong with the battery charger.I must be some sort of a miracle that the replacement charger that I was given under warranty does not boil the batteries.NOT GOOD NOT GOOD AT ALL.

Head unit install and amp and subs

TERRIBLE DAY my car was booked in for stereo fitting at a branch and they wanted half the fitting price on booking but I informed them I would be happy to pay a $100 and the other $400 on job completion
After a week I'm called telling me that the installation can't happen on my booking date so they refer me to another branch further away so then they call me 2 to 3 times a week when I call back they don't know who called me or they are not available
Finally I take my vehicle to get install done arrive 8 am go back at 3 pm for update on pick up time told come back at 5pm I go back car is parked ready to pick up DVD not playing amp has no power subs not installed after 9 hours then told ran out of time I asked can you finish tomorrow and reply was fitter doesn't work Saturday I will call you next week.
SHOCKING on top of this because battery was disconnected my auto stability control light was on which rended it inactive I called rac sorted it out around 7pm still waiting at rear of shop long terrible Day and still charged another $100 for cable on something not working 🤔

Extremly frustrated!

Extremly frustrated!! Took my car in for a reverse camera installation. Installed, informed they had trouble getting the wires through thats why it took all day, job had been pre paid so thanked them and drove away. The camera worked once as I reversed out of their drive way. BTW no reverse lines were set up on the car. Did not work for 7 days after that, took it back in passing i asked why there were no reverse lines like my other car had and was told I would have to 'ask' for that, so i 'asked' (rolling eyes). They inspected it again 3 more hours - told nothing wrong with the install or the camera that the Headset was the problem. I could go back to VW and get an updated headset or have them provide another one at an additional cost, ($1000-$1500),....Aparently the camera worked for them all day right up until 5 mins before I was to pick it up. Completely unsatisfactory explanation of why its not working, told it would work intermittedly and any other work on the car would come at an additional charge. I told them to take the camera out and give me a refund. Response was not out fault no refund for the camera and additional cost to take the camera out!!! VERY UNHAPPY! They did a rubbish job and basically washed their hands of it! I now have a car with a camera that does not work and they are $500 ahead I feel lied to and deceived - I Will NEVER use them again and will continue to tell my story to every person I come across that ever brings up any kind of car issue!!!! DO NOT TRUST this company.

Customer service seemed are definitely unhelpful more like scammers

Customer service is as terrible, I brought in my headlight bulb and asked for the exact type with car make and model and instead he gave me an inferior brand and promised it was the exact bulb for my car. Well turns out he gave me the same bulb but a completely different strength and Color of the bulb I asked for. The bulb is cheap but I felt like they were trying to get rid off bulbs “as in scamming” that don’t sell and then say packaging was broken for no refund. Anyways just a warning to other shoppers that these guys aren’t trustworthy so be careful.

Absolutely worst car buying experience…

Absolutely worst car buying experience in my 60 years! Was promised by salesman Ray to hold the car while I drove nearly 4 EACH WAY to buy the car! When I arrived another customer was test driving it! They then accepted his off BEFORE I even was given the opportunity! Turned out to be a blessing in disguise. While there I overheard a very disgruntled customer who received little to no help or sympathy from Ray. I also noticed oil overspray in engine compartment, damage under front end, both not disclosed AND poor attempt to cover smoked in vehicle with cheap perfume. Manager Sam “apologized” and offered gas I wasted. I have since read this is common practice there. They have successfully kept the stereotype of shady car dealers alive and well. Avoid at all cost. Consider yourself warned!

Helpful Troubleshooters that Deliver

I spent half an hour with Raj at Autobarn Clayton today, working through an aftermarket hands free car kit installed in a car I recently purchased.
He was patient, thorough and explained what needed to happen clearly to me.
Then he did some googling and fixed the issue for me. Great work.
I've used the team at Autobarn Clayton for a number of issues on different cars and have always had great advice and service. Highly recommended.

My name is Len. I got a Quote from AutoBarn for a head unit for a Toyota Landcruiser 200,they quoted $639 for an Alpine ILX-702D7 Unit a fair price but the wiring was an extra $212 plus $230 to fit it an absolute rip off. I bought a unit from Strathfield Car Radio. A Clarion Head same features as the Alpine unit for $558 with all wiring included. I'm no expert but it was so easy to fit myself, it took 30min, that equates to $460 per hr a big big big rip off,Shame on you AutoBarn

Just don't!!

I ordered an expensive Dash Cam on Saturday 21st of August.
I hesitated for a moment as I usually buy from Repco, but went a head and did it anyway.
No contact for a week!!
I wrote a complaint and finally my item was marked as sent..
Only it wasn't.
It's now another week and it is still not marked as received by the post office!
How can you be so careless with such an expensive item...and into he mean time I am left unprotected while driving.
This item was supposedly coming from a physical store in Doncaster.. 40 minutes from here.
This has been the absolute pits of service!!
Repco are always at the ready to help.. I am so incredibly regretful I didn't stick with the this time.
