"Refundable" Holding Fees
Very disappointed with the service from this dealer.
Rather than mention any dishonest tactics or deception that I'm speculative of; I'll simply state the facts.
Arranged to view a car and paid a FULLY REFUNDABLE holding fee.
Arrived to find the wrong car had been made ready for me. (July 16th) When I asked about the car I initially wanted to view I was told it needed some work and could be ready for next week.
Went back next week (July 23rd) to see the correct car, it was still in need of plenty of work and the salespeople were unable to give straight answers about what this work was or why I'd been told this work had already been done.
Due to losing confidence in them and this particular car, I asked for the refundable holding fee to be returned as I was no longer interested.
Their "card machine was playing up" so they were unable to do the refund on the spot. I left my bank details and they said they would transfer the money to me instead.
A week goes by and still no refund. I've called them again today (July 31st) and was told they'd "tried to phone me a few times about it" and that the person who does the books isn't in so they cannot do it today.
I was then told that the person who does the books is in tomorrow (August 1st) and when I said "okay, I'll call back tomorrow" they immediately hung up the phone on me.
