I took some personal gold to be redesigned into three gold bands one with an emerald. Delivery was 2/3 months late. I was informed working with an emerald is very delicate and challenging.
Alarm bells! Don’t take the commission.
Nine months later I noticed the emerald had fallen out.
The emerald was replaced as it was still under a 12 month contract.
Belynda explained it was an ‘occasional’ ring - she didn’t explain this (ridiculous) care guidance until it was broken. I am still at a loss if it was to be worn occasionally or to special occasions.
Naturally it wasn’t her fault as she was quick to defend herself.
After the ring was repaired I was informed she has made the setting especially secure. Now this begs a question why not do that in the first place.
The lack of communication and lack of reassurance was disappointing as it was odd.
My sisters ring a different design had our mothers diamond fall out 18 months or so. Belynda was very quick to demonstrate again it just wasn’t her fault ! And securely hid behind the by now as I know to be her precious 12 month warranty blanket.
The fact is the diamond is lost due to her workmanship. Nothing to do with a warranty.
Her offer to look at the ring was declined by my sister as she feels after two rings with stones falling out there is a lack of integrity. She has decided not to wear the ring as she is concerned all the stones will fall out.
We were told it happens a lot - I tend to believe her.
The distress caused was not worth the inexpensive original fee.
We will have the rings reset elsewhere.
I am unable to endorse her work.
