We have had our Mountain Go for 4 years…
We have had our Mountain Go for 4 years now and have only had great experiences with the Babboe service and been extremely happy with the bike itself. Here is a small summary of interactions we had:
- We received the bike with a small scratch on the display and Babboe gave us a choice between replacing the display or picking a free item from their shop. We still enjoy the "sun sail" we picked as a gift and probably collected more scratches on the display since ;)
- After all the mess with (other models) of Babboe breaking and being recalled, we got a free safety check of our bike and could pick another gift from the online shop as a "sorry" from Babboe.
- When the dampeners for the steering started deterioating (outside of warranty) our local bike shop had trouble sourcing the right parts and we asked Babboe for help. We initially thought they sent a technician to check the parts to make sure we could ask for the right repair at the local shop. But it turned out a technician came out and fitted new dampeners free of charge.
- Now after more than 4 years we just had another safety check which turned out to also have some nifty upgrades. Additional hooks for tightening storage, spacers to increase gaps where small fingers might otherwise get stuck and a new seatpost. All free of charge again.
One small issue we had: The roadside assistance we had booked for the first year did show up and bring the bike home but refused to also transport my pregnant wife home when she had a flat tire. It was a local car towing company that clearly wasn't used to the sort of situation. I hope that can get better, or maybe it already has since we had to use it ;)
I have to say I am impressed by the proactive care we have received and we can tell that Babboe is committed to keeping our bike working for a long time without upselling us anything. If we ever want a new cargo bike, Babboe will be on top of the list.
