It was a busy time to chat with the agent (Cyber Monday), but the agent resolved my issue and processed my refund from my return (less the return shipping fee). Appreciated. Loved the service, and the product was good but just didn't fit so it needed to be returned. They confirmed receipt; and now they processed my refund.

Wow. I used to love this site but now prices not nearly as competitive. My last order I returned for store credit assuming it would speed up the process in order to place another order for a smaller size. Needless to say I think I made a really bad decision I’ll have to take the issue up with the credit company. While the order took two days to deliver it took from 11/14-11/21 to return. From there it’s another 7-10 days to process. As of today ZERO communication regarding my return aside from what I’ve been provided by FedEx. I don’t believe I’ll see a credit until Spring at this pace. Guess I’m literally left out in the cold for a $175 coat!!!! Rethinking any Christmas buying from this company this year. What a hassle! Spend your money somewhere like REI.

I had just been told I needed to be a student or military or whatever I am not to get the 20%off one full price item. But connection got lost or cut off and then I got connected to Marla B. She did all o wanted and was asking for and more because she did it for me, all by asking a few questions and a secure way to put my card payment and done!

Marla helped to resolve my problem. She was kind enough to send out a new package as it seemed that the current one was lost. She really managed my issue in a very professional and efficient manner.

Poor customer support, so sad as they used to be SOOOO good and responsive. Now all support is off-shore and shows lack of motivation. $8.99 for returns, even if quality related

Backcountry chat was quick, friendly, extremely helpful in finding me a ski, sized for my type of skiing. They were very supportive with questions to help me in the selection process. Ended up with some Atomic Bent 100’s with bindings! With free shipping and my cash points applied. So easy! Great experience!

I've ordered from Backcountry a few times and have had to return items twice. The first returned purchase didn't get refunded to my credit card. I had to call to process the refund, but it wasn't successful after my first phone call. I had to call a second time to finally receive a refund. I just looked at my cc statement for a recent return, which should have been a $131 refund. They only refunded me $90.46. I called to inquire, and they said a dress I sent back had stains. I didn't even try on the dress. The customer service rep just said she will refund the remaining $51.21 to my cc. I'll watch my statement to verify it gets refunded. Needless to say, I'm reluctant to order from Backcountry again.

I have been extremely happy with my recent experiences with Backcountry/Competitive Cyclist.
I was in the market for two new bikes, and after shopping all the local shops and other online retailers, Competitive Cyclist was the only place that had my size (XXL) readily in stock. And not only available, but at the best prices I had found anywhere...by a long shot.
The Gearheads were awesome (Mark and Joel). They guided me through the process, got me signed up for the Summit+ membership (which saved me a lot more money), and found me even more discounts on a couple other things I needed to make my rides more enjoyable. They are very knowledgeable about the products, were very well organized, and followed up with emails and phone calls.
So, I ordered the first bike on a Friday morning, and it showed up at my house 2 days later on Sunday. The second bike was ordered late on a Thursday, and showed up 3 days later on Sunday. Not only did the delivery times vastly exceed my expectations, but the packaging and build quality on both bikes was top notch. All I had to do was attach the bars, pump up the tires and shocks to my preference, and I was out riding both bikes the same day I got them. And they both sit dirty and happy in my garage even now:)
I highly recommend the Summit+ membership, especially if you are making any big purchases. It has paid for itself several times over for me already, plus you get some expert help from folks like Mark and Joel.
This was an excellent experience (two excellent experiences? three, maybe?) from start to finish. Mark me down as a very satisfied customer...one who will definitely be coming back over and over.
