Didn't need the battery life of the Solar 1040 or the extra features of the 1050. So saved a bit of money and went for the Garmin Edge 1040 (non solar). Very happy. The screen is perfectly visible in bright sunlight even with my aging 58yr old eyeballs.

After using the 530 this was a major upgrade. The new UI makes using the unit so much quicker and easier I’m finding I’m using it a lot more, even for indoor workouts. Battery life is awesome as well.

Easy to use, connects to Garmin connect and watch, Tacx turbo etc. love the climb pro function. Easy to edit and personalise screens. Expensive but hoping it will be used for years ahead.

Whilst it is expensive I'm glad I bought this over any of the rest. The screen size is perfect for a navigation/bike computer. The others look insignificant in comparison. The screen is great in the daylight & I know some users complain about the resolution but I feel it's good enough for what's required. The battery is what I love about the unit, I'm 3 weeks in and it's on 80%.

Has a large screen so easy to read map. Great features which has really enhanced my cycling. Only issue was some reflection on screen in bright sunlight but solved by adding a matte screen protector.

Good but coming from an Apple-universe, seems quite basic and clunky. The mapping is good, the display needs updating. The beeping is annoying. Good integration with the Variable radar, and Bontrager lights.
