Food was ok. Fresh pasta being made as you come in Borough branch and an open kitchen. Friendly and helpful staff with recommendations which was great however, we weren’t offered Parmesan or black pepper for our pasta and not one but TWO other tables were hmm… unprofessional service and unfair.

⭐⭐⭐ Decent food, but nothing special

Visited this Italian restaurant recently and overall it was pretty average. The food was decent, I had a pasta dish which tasted good, but it wasn’t anything particularly memorable.

The service was fine and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but the experience just didn’t really stand out compared to other Italian places I’ve been to.

Prices were reasonable and everything arrived on time, but the flavours were a bit basic and it didn’t quite live up to what I expected.

Not bad by any means, just not somewhere I’d go out of my way to visit again. A solid 3-star experience.

I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves every word.

I went to Bancone Golden Square for what I thought would be a nice dinner. The food arrived lukewarm, in tiny portions, and the staff couldn’t have cared less. Service was slow, dismissive, and flat-out rude. I left thinking I simply wouldn’t bother coming back.

Then came the real insult. Days later, Halifax contacted me to say Bancone had signed me up for a £50 recurring subscription yes, you read that right without my consent, authorisation, or even a single word mentioned during my visit. I booked through SevenRooms, paid via Apple Pay, and suddenly I’m enrolled in some mystery “subscription”.

This isn’t just unprofessional it’s unethical. Whether it’s a glitch or a deliberate setup, it’s disgraceful. I’ve had to raise a dispute with my bank to claw back my own money.

Between the cold food, arrogant staff, and now this unauthorised charge, Bancone has gone from mediocre to downright dodgy. If you value your time, money, and privacy, avoid this place like the plague.

Well sited - conducive to good atmosphere.
Pasta deliciously fresh with beautiful sauces -
But portions too small for the prices (pasta is so cheap to make) - and worst of all music way too loud.
Increase portion size and decrease music noise - then I reckon an absolute winner !

Borough Yards Restaurant

Wedge left in the door, so it didn't close, which left us in a draught, as our table was close to the door.

Limited menu. Over-salty pasta.

Waiter was rude clearing the table, before we had all finished eating, leaning across in front of my wife. Not a great Birthday experience for her.

Good location and overall ambiance was pleasant.

Could do better.
